danceshake01
George Acosta Voted America’s Best DJIbiza, Spain—The votes for America’s Best DJ are in, and the winner is: George Acosta. With representatives in attendance from title sponsor Pioneer Pro DJ, and co-sponsors DJ Times and Sirius Satellite Radio, Acosta accepted his award from 2006 winner Jonathan Peters at Ibiza's luxurious El Pacha Hotel this past September 7. The longtime Miami DJ was humble in his acceptance speech. "I came from nothing and, because of that, I'm very grateful for this award," says Acosta, who fled Cuba for Florida as a young boy. "In my career, I've worked very hard for this and I would like to thank the voters, plus DJ Times, Pioneer and all the sponsors for this great award." In its second year, America’s Best DJ Presented by Pioneer Pro DJ-and sponsored by DJ Times, Beatport and Sirius Satellite Radio-also was supported by a 40-date Summer Tour, which culminated in Las Vegas this past September 2. Additionally, voters for America’s Best DJ earned over $25,000 in prizes from sponsors. They included: four trips to Ibiza to witness the award ceremony; valuable Pioneer Pro DJ gear; Stiletto 100 receivers from Sirius; free downloads from Beatport; and free subscriptions from DJ Times. The final rankings of America’s Best DJ voting are: 1) George Acosta (Miami), 2) BT (Los Angeles), 3) Bad Boy Bill (Chicago), 4) DJ Boris (NYC), 5) DJ Skribble (NYC). cm23
Yeah, JP drops from #1 all the way out of the top 100. Just goes to show you how the right promotion can get you high on the list if not at the top. And!!! - DT at number 12??? Is this a joke???He's definitely top 10 in the world and gets #12 in America??Congrats to Acosta I guess but these lists are ridiculous.DT should be #1 hands down with someone else a distant second - my guess is DT probably doesn't even care and will continue to just do his thing.Thank god for all of us. I'm sure Silverbull can chime in on this.
stringent
Those results are nonsense. Boris listed above some of those other heavy hitters? gimme a break, lol
CoPa99
JP dropped from #1 to Off the tOP 100?? Did he retire?WTFF thats nutz, to me that kinda takes credibility from that list. If you are voted #1 one year there is no way you dont break the Top 100 on the next. Or is there?
djio
You can't win 2 years in a row, that is why JP is not listed in top 100. this way the same person doesn't win every year like in other polls
CoPa99
Calderone should be TOP 10 at the very least!
