LOL. Believe it or not, my current favourites are a $20 set I got from Best Buy when I was in a crunch. TINY little phones, that are Sony knockoffs. AMAZING bass response, though.

I think they're called Audiotech, or something like that.

I've gotta agree on the Sony thing, though. I love my Sony's. I have a set of Stantons that are sweet, too.

I'd go with the Pioneer sedj5000 or the senheiser hd25.

the sony v700's are tooo strong on the mid and low frequencies that if your mixer don't have eq controls for your headphones monitor(most mixers don't have eq controls for their headphone monitor)those headphones are gonna leave a ringing in your ears and pain if your ears are not already messed up.

After 2 weeks with the v700's, I changed them to the pioneers. What a relief.

a friend of mine used to have the panasonic ones w/ the bass that actually vibrated the headphones. that was really phat. don't know if they still make them though

Dharma I have to agree with klaxon. Before even reading what the others said I knew the Sony 700 was going to be one of your choices and exactly as what was mentioned before they have way too much low frequency that will really wreck your ears. Go with the Sony 7506's. I too had the 700 DJ's for a week and all they are, are just plain flashy...
