Unbelievably Great!, February 16, 2006

Reviewer: Norb "Norb" (Colorado) - See all my reviews

- Mesmerizing, Fantastic, Soul Enriching Trance that encapsulates an era passed. Eat a Mitzubishi and relive the glory. If you have the ability to purchase this box set, do so. It is worth it's weight in gold.

The Gold Standard , December 28, 2005

Reviewer: F. Farzaneh (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews

- No amount of hyperbole can accurately describe or capture how truly amazing this double disc is. The discs are effortlessly fluid, taking you on journey down the corridors into the world of trance. More importantly, you feel like you are actually standing on the groundfloors of Cream and witnessing Michaelangelo sculpt David. From the lightness of Summersault to the dark corners of Nightmare to the boiling energy of The Prophet, this compilation will leave you in awe. If you've never heard Oakenfold and have been wondering what the hype was about from '98-'00, this compilation will convince you that the "hype" was well-deserved.

One of the best mix CDs of all time..., October 19, 2005

Reviewer: A. Ort "aorto" (Youngstown, Ohio) - See all my reviews

- This is Oakenfold at the top of his game. This mix is unbelievable. I never thought I'd like a live mix but the crowd just enhances it. When played loud enough, you'll feel like you are right there. It's the same vibe as listening to a Dead recording of a show you'd seen. You are transported.

I recognize many of the songs in the mix but many I don't and they all flow amazingly well. I can't say it sounds dated because whenever I play it, it alters whatever it is I'm doing. It remains fresh. It's definitely trance inducing but in a way only Oakenfold can do. No cheesy theatrics and no excess. This is by far one of the best mixes, hands down, ever recorded. I've never been to a live show of his but the energy just radiates through this recording.

Come to think of it, this may have been techno as we know it at its peak, before it really splintered and was labeled in a million different ways. This thing is hard to come by but if you can swing it or find a copy somewhere, fight to get it. And never loan it out and always keep a back up.

Oakenfold set the bar..., January 26, 2005

Reviewer: D. Cohen (houston, texas) - See all my reviews

- Not only is this the best cd that i own, but it is the best cd that i have ever heard...this is coming from a true southern whiteboy. Houston is filled with TONS and TONS of what i would call crap, yet there is nothing that you can do but go out there and buy an Oakenfold cd...Oakenfold keeps me sain...youre #1 fan...p.s. paul oakenfold signed my copy of resident when i went to go see him live last year...how much would someone pay for that? Dont you wish you could buy it...hahahahaha duce
