ryan2772 Posted August 30 Report Share Posted August 30 i was kind of mad that there wasn't any humor in it. that's what i always liked about mtv award shows. and there was no host. they just focused 100% on the "glam" of miami. and will smith "giving" us shaq? gimmie a freakin break. other than that, i thought it was a good production. the aaa looked really cool, it was a great setup inside. and it was good to see our city in the national spotlight. I thought Dave Chappelle was hosting the VMA's. WTF??!! I wasn't really paying attn but was Usher dissing Justin Timberlake by saying that there's "no competition" for him or was he saying there's no competition b/w them. Besides "Rock Your Body" was out over a year ago and "Confessions" is a new song. To compare a current "hit" (not a hit to me) to a hit from last year is not an accurate comparison but whatever. Sound problems, stupid camera views, the crowd covered the performers too much, the daughters of Bush and Kerry was lame, and the crowd showed no respect to them. MTV is so lame, it's scary. Will smith was lame, Shaq was lame, the bands were ultra lame, and all the hip hop was just pathetic... Turned it off at 915 and put on the Casino, which had porn stars, vegas wedding, fights, sluts fighting each other, chicks accousing others of trying to sleep with their boyfriends, the big show in the ball room etc.. great tv, unlike mtv.. The people at MTV should have watched ESPN 2's live coverage ofCollege Football Behind the Scenes on Saturday during the Va Tech/USC game. The work they do on those live telecasts is simply amazing. The VMA's didn't have the sizzle it usually has first of all no lesbian kissing went on....no one showed some titties except Alicia Keys nipples count. And having David Chappelle as a host was a joke, they only had him on stage to kill time. And one last thing the reason they do these shows are for the fans......according to some people I spoke to they didn't even let the fans near the stars when they were making their entrances to the red carpet into the arena. Guest web_norah Posted August 30 Report Share Posted August 30 didnt watch it. i dont care for MTV much at all these days.i was suprised to hear that about the Kerry girls getting heavy boos.here are the reasons - -it looked to me that they packed the AA Arena with Miami locals, most of whom are Cuban Americans and they're vastly republicans and everyone knows "why" that is. fairly sure the Bushes were booed to some degree, but it was a function of the satellite feed and sound editing that we couldn't hear it.and # 3 i can't imagine it'd be that one-sided in reality. please, that show was under heavy watch since the Super Bowl performance so everything had to be toned down.
