hey

clearly, if we compared careers and overall achievement/skills/ fan base..........this is just a popularity contest and as far as i am concerned, it can stay that way.

DT doesnt need a top 5 or top 10 ranking, been there and done it.

This list is bullshit though, I think if your going to put a Dj List together you shouldn't use votes casted on the internet. There has to be some sort of credibility behind them. Like total record sales like Vinyls, Cd's, having productions licensed to play in a compilation. Other Dj's should vote for other Dj's or have industry people who own Record Labels in the Electronic Genre cast a share of their vote. Also have votes casted by all the clubs that book Electronic Music.

I mean this ranking shouldn't be judged by people on the internet. It really puts down a lot of Dj's and Acts from around the world from being booked, this ranking eventhough its ridiculous gives a lot of those acts with higher ranking a lot more recognition than an act that would be ranked number 87 for example. Its just not fair.

even if the outcome isnt what you like, whats more fair than a vote open to the public? votes by the industry are given at awards shows.

this list should be called HYPE list.....

i feel that it is more of an indicator on people's terrible taste in DJs...and i am fine with it. i rather it be that way. ;D

look at where Laurent Garnier, DT, DJ Vibe stand.

people might love Yanni's music, i sure dont but that doesnt mean its not good in its own right.

if a dj rocks a crowd and they leave satisfied, they come back and it perpetuates, said DJ will get more popular.

The list is nothing more than who people find to be the most entertaining. Kiss once had a guitar player who could run up and down the frets but in the end, they said he was boring. The same applies to dj'ing. If people don't find a dj entertaining, it doesn't matter how good he/she is technically.

Mili Vanilli got tons of Hype and so did Vanilla Ice.

So is Ashley Simpson with her Lip Singing incident it doesn't mean she's going to be a long term star. She is just getting hype now. And you might not like her but their are tons of other people who do.

Different Strokes for different folks.
