Guest Electric Eel Posted December 13 Report Share Posted December 13 So Friday night I was out with my friend Bertha at Amika and she slipped and fell. Her foot swelled up so I took her to Mt. Sinai hospital. After sitting there for 6 hours they bandaged her foot up and said she sprained it. Well she was in so much pain that today she went to an orthopedic doctor and her foot is fractured in 2 places . How could the doctor at the hospital miss this?? ??? Thos dam shoes are dangerous...they should come with a warning label that says,"Dont dance with these shoes, just look pretty on them". I talked to a friend that explained to me that it happens because the foot is so swollen they dont notice some things, this is the answer I was looking for and I got it. How could the doctor at the hospital miss this?? ???The quality of care here in Miami has a reputation of being one of the worst places for healthcare in the nation. I've even heard of imigrants from the Carribean and Latin America who say that some of the Hospitals in Miami even operate below their standard in their country. The tests were negative......mind you a 9 weeks go by and I end up being pregnant, so initially I was 1 week pregnant when they took my blood in the hospital and the tests showed negative. Now my attorney told me that in order for me to sue the hospital I had to wait till the baby was born in order to see if he had any defects due to the Xrays they did on me, thankfully my baby come out fine. I mean I prefer to be under bridge before having any money due to a mistake made by a hospital. So my point is your friend should go with the papers given to her at Mt Sinai showing she had no fracture and taking the ones given to her at the hospital where they discovered the fracture to an attorney......i'm sure something can be done!!!I hope she is feeling better though ;D. He just assumed it was a sprain and bandaged it...so because of this she probably walked on it when she was not supposed to and probably made it worse!!! What is wrong with going to an attorney???What if it was you or one of your family members???I'm sure you would not appreciate a doctors malpractice on a family member or yourself!!!!
