Guest Marina22 Posted July 12 Report Share Posted July 12 As far as Dj's are concerned, anybody who has Dj'ed the both genre's will tell you that its way easier to be a EDM Dj than a Hip Hop Dj'. its true in some ways there is a lot more technical ability involved in mixing Hip Hop. As far as beat matching is concerned it is harder to maintain and match Hip hop beats compared to House. Also the tracks are not as formated and programed for mixing as House is. Not to mention all the beat juggling, scratching, transforming. Definately a hell of a lot of technical skill involved.Coming from a dj that is known for his scratching I will take your expert opinion. I like all kinds of music but as far as hip-hop I like whatever is quality which of course is subjective; however, those who know know exactly what I mean. I think that it also takes alot of skill to be a turntabalist and it is a treat to see some of these djs perform nowadays. Level, I think we have had alot more talent down here as AJ pointed out. It may be true that house tracks are programmed for mixing, but it is still very hard to mix perfectly-not only the beats but also the various effects. Now that is some talent.
