Guest coach
Half the battle has already been fought, now finish it off or else the next kid on the block will be here to take your place...While I mostly agree with most of what you said, this part I do not. Or that forums from 'fashionista' mags could ignite enough of a base to start another maybe more engaging site?
Guest pod
In my opinion, yeah I'm biased, but by and large, with the fashionista community, they're just not motivated enough to have the real battle royales that we do here. Again, like I said earlier, I have yet to see any other forum with a real sense of community that this one does.

Or that forums from 'fashionista' mags could ignite enough of a base to start another maybe more engaging site? That second one. Unless they took an entirely different tack, and even that I'm not sure if it would work.I haven't actually checked clubbing/nightlife sites in other cities very extensively. I do so sometimes when I am travelling to see what is up. In general I have found them to be even more of a ghost town than CJ.In the past, I've checked for a number of other related sites, like fashion or art, and always been disappointed with either the quantity or quality available (or both). The only thing I might see happening is like how dallasraves.org went. A group of tech-savvy underground fans got together and put together their own site. Eventually it became so popular that it was bought up by a familiar corporation. However, before that, it was so well run that it easily crushed any for-profit competition. There is a bit of an underground music/art/fashion scene in Miami. It's not big, and it's not electronic (exactly), but it is definitely not served by CJ. If they got it together enough to start a fan movement that's the only way I could see anything usurping CJ. No for-profit corp is going to come in and try it.Well, the other thing is when Pod gets too famous and decides to bail, as well.
Guest pod
That brings up a valid point. One of the keys to a successful online community is a cast of characters. You can't just have a bunch of random people posting on and off, there's no real identifiable personality that way.
Guest saintjohn
There is a bit of an underground music/art/fashion scene in Miami. Anything that smacks of community (or worse, commercialism) would be anathema to them. They'd have to give up their annual anti-WMC posturing. Guest pod
Hah, so true. I've often suggested to these sort of people to run DTourism-esque forums where only 'approved' people can post.
Guest saintjohn
only 'approved' people can post. How about a VIP CJ forum? All the same people will be posting, but everyone else will want to join due to the velvet rope effect.

Guest pod
The funniest thing is that when you get things like that, after awhile it gets mind-numbingly repetitive if you don't let any new people in. I don't mind new people, I just don't like trolls.

Guest pod
I wouldn't consider this thread bullshit. He did a good job by posting it actually. I mean, yeah I know where you're coming from though with the whole deep house rip and so forth. Frankly, I let him do it since at the end of the day, arguing about music is like being in the Special Olympics...And I'm on the sidelines drinking and having a laugh. Guest Jason_B
Level then you should update the CJ Board Rules to accommadate your interest. Then we shall only discuss what you want us to discuss... that should be fun...In Korea...

Guest pod
Heh, kind of like the Senators that rip on gays but turn out to be gay? I remember at first when I would generally find Music Fascists only really in the deep house crowd. I say deep house just as a catchall since if i said "deep-classic-downtempo-house" I'd be here all night. But anywho, it's always amused me to see that no genre's immune to it. You've got deep house nazis, techno fascists, and militant drum n bass fans.

Guest RzO
I think right now its a lil different cause of summer. i can say that this board is by far the best run out of any i have ever looked at. The character issues mentioned too make it good, you have a select few that are infamous and they keep it interesting. Also as pod mentioned we have a real community most of us are out enough that we are actually friends and see each other, the boards serve as cohesion for people who don't get to hang out every weekend. Guest pod
so that means i love trance again and hate deep/funky house and chicago house? Bling, at the end of the day it's all dance music. You really shouldn't be following the example of some of your brownshirt buddies and dedicating precious brain cycles to hating on a form of music. If you're gonna hate something, make it worthwhile like hating on carnival folk or hippies.
