birdj
I work w/ WOMBAT and did in the past w/ Gabe Poloma (a father of Conjugate Projeckt). He is a really great cat. All about the old-school scene were things weren't so twisted. He host alot of art/fashion/music events and has been in the Chicago scene for over 15 years. He works 8-5 and does as much as he can for the scene and the community. We could defintly us more of that in Chicago.------------------
fiatmusica
I'm going to pick up a ticket today...Is anyone else (Wombat, bird j) going? We can try to make the meet-up at cro afterwards. (though i forsee a huge line at 12:30-ish)
bouncyboy
all I can say is if you are going to that, make sure you stay clean, the cops are going to be watching that thing like hawks... that is if they even let it happen. Hell why would they? They don't even want us partying in clubs, why would they let us party on their trains...????------------------

back2basics-
Well the CTA is just one BIG party all the time if you ask me.. Just get the blue line out to forest park and you will see what i mean. birdj
I think they are gonna stop at the pickup station (annouced the day of) then you can get out, do your buisness, switch cars, then get back to the party.------------------ [This message has been edited by birdj (edited 05-17-2001).]
fiatmusica
I'm assuming this going to be more like a gallery opening than a club event...in other words--not a party. Sort of like a hipper version of Third thurdays (after hours) at the art institute or First Fridays at the MCA. I'd also be shocked if there was any beverages of any type other than water on the train. PS: BB I hear you loud and clear.

fiatmusica
I went--and I'm pretty sure I was the only one from the board. I'll post a more detailed review later when I get off work.Short review: Fucking awesome!!! (and yes I was sober)P.S. scratchapella
You're not the only one who went. Whoever thought this thing wouldn't work out w/ the city of Chicago was being pessimistic. I thought it went very smoothly. Didn't really know what to expect though, so it was a good surprise. Pretty much everyone I met was sober. Fiatmusica: which trains were you on?
