Recommended Posts

let's put to use the few brain cells that we have left with a fun exercise . . .

5 + 5 + 5 = 550

draw ONE line to make this equation correct . . .

there are two possible answers . . .

getting them both is the tough part. . .

Ok here is the ultimate brain teaser...

You are in a corridor, there is a door at either end with a man in front.

One door leads to certain death, the other to Creamfields and free drugs. One of the men will always lie one will always tell the truth, you don't know which is which.

You may only ask one question, what will it be?

You approach one of the doors and ask the guy:

Is there a liar at the door leading to death?

If the answer is yes, then the door you approached leads to creamfields and drugs. If the answer is no, then the door you approached leads to death.

B2B - pretty good one wink.gif

I'm right B2B. Let's think a bit. Call the guy always telling the truth John, and the guy who always lies Jim.

You approach a door and ask is there a liar at the door leading to death? If the door you approached leads to drugs, there can be two cases:

1. It is guarded by John, who always tells the truth, so he will reply YES (the door leading to death is indeed guarded by a lier, Jim).

2. It is guarded by Jim, who always lies, so he will reply YES as well(the door leading to death is guarded by John who never lies, so Jim has to lie and say YES).

Now if you approached the door leading to death, again there can be 2 cases:

1. It is guarded by John, who will say NO (the door leading to death indeed is not guarded by a liar - John is not a liar).

2. It is guarded by Jim, who will say NO as well (the door leading to death is guarded by Jim, a liar, so Jim is going to lie).

So if the answer is YES, then it's drugs, if the answer is NO, then it's death. There can be other solutions as well, but mine definitely works. Hope my explanation was clear.

There's no need to know who's telling the truth and who's not. I used the names just not to type "man who tells the truth" or "man who lies" all the time. My explanation is not that clear, I'll try to make a better one now. The question works though.
