smileygirl
This jsut happened to me. I was coming back from lunch and got on the elevator in my building and this woman asked if I ever modeled before. I said no and she said that I was a very beautiful person and wanted to know if I was interested in showing up for a search session tomorrow. She said that if I decide to go to bring photos and head shots. She handed me her card and I said thank you but I'm really not too interested. It was very flattering, but also kind of embarrassing. There were other people in the elevator with us. I was just curious to see if anyone else has ever had something happen to them before. I was like Uhm, no! then told me to give her a call/gave me her card if I was interested.....which I wasn't..... shugabooga
um, if you told her you were not already modeling, then why would she think you could get your headshots together in one day? (that's kinda beside the point...)honey, don't be shy, if you're at all interested in it, go for it!!! at least check it out, never overlook an opportunity. someone approached me years ago but my mother had already told me i couldn't attend modeling school (meanie) so the chance slipped away... drfunk
remember the guy from Amistad. he was apparently homeless in Paris when he was approached by a modeling agent. he eventually landed a lead role in a major motion picture! who knows...-in no way am i implying that u r homeless or seeking a movie career, i dont know u. good luck though ------------------ Computer games dont affect kids. smileygirl
It is really strange too because on Wednesday night I went with some people from work to the village to a restaurant and there was a psychic there so I decided to get a Tarot Reading. Well after all the bla, bla, bla, she said i was going to be famous in a few years--and to be that is just a tad far fetched for me so i just laughed it off . And today I get approached by a scout--and by the way, the card does say E-MODELS!!!!!!!
resident
Just don't give them any money for any reason. No decent modeling agency charges their models for test shoots or the like. If they ask for $ for that, they're a bunch of crooks.------------------tweaky is the answer

You should never have to give them money if they are for real. rparadox
When I was in Baltimore a few years back, I was approached by a modeling scout. He set up an interview with the company and everything right there (by the harbor) on his cell phone. The only problem was the the agency only had offices in D.C., and I lived in Philly. So I had to call and cancel. I would have done it, but a three-hour commute with no car and no job just didn't work for me.But hey, if it's a legit company, what have you got to lose? bionic
Several years ago, in a supermarket a woman came up to me and asked me if i'd be interested in modeling b/c she thought that I was very attractive and in good shape and that she had a few sportswear shoots she thought she could use me for. I told her I wasn't sure. She told me it paid a nice chuck of money per hour, but I was still leary. She gave me her card, but I never called. I still wonder what would have happened... I was afraid they weren't legit and they'd start sticking my picture and airbrushing in things in porno magazines.Advice: Call the better business bureau to see if there have ever been any complaints against them to gain a little better piece of mind. That's what I was gonna do, but just blew it off instead.

Jilly
I've been approached a few different times..did a job or 2 when I was younger..but since I am soooo camera shy..I'd rather be the photographer...I just thought this was sooo funny..I have my resume up on some boards..and emodel has emailed me several times saying "my resume is great and I should be a model scout for them"...then they emailed me again...saying they saw my picture and was I interested in modeling....how funny is that!! I think they seem kinda fishy...------------------" I give in to sin ..Because you have to make this life liveable "-DMSmoknjilly@aol.com
jolie1
just a tip for all of you, i have modeled for four years at IMG and i know that there are a lot of scumbags out there who tell girls they can model and charge you hundreds or even thousands of dollars for pictures.if an agency is reputable they will not make you pay for pictures.when i first got to img they threw away my portfolio, called them glamour shots and made me wash off my makeup and took polaroids of me. please be careful dont let anyone take advantage of you out there. if anyone is serious about modeling PM me and ill give u my email to send me some pics, and ill give you the name of my agent.have a good day!love, jolie
tstelkhuni
i agree with Jolie on this - i've been approached by those model-searchin people all the time, but personally i think most of them are full shit - i usually throw away their cards the second they walk away.------------------"i don't suffer from insanity i enjoy every minute of it" aim : TsteLkHuni
chill72kid
E-models is nothing you wanna go in to. I know three girls that have done this; they originaly got paid an x amount of money to come to the shoot. They get more money for posing nude of course. No I see their pictures on internet all the time .If you wanna look into those site...use the search engine and type in "NJ models" or something around those lines. If you do consider anything like that make sure you fully understand the contract you're signing ------------------Can you dig? sassa
A photographer friend of mine from Manhattan harassed me for a year and a half about modelling for him...always got away with an excuse or two, lol.Funny thing is,I don't think I'm attractive.------------------Sassa

If u go 2 psychix than you'll probably get jerked by this agency if they are trying 2 do that. Maybe she said that becuz she knew u wanted 2 here something along those lines. sorry to be so harsh but the love i give iz tuff luv baby. good luck in all your endeavorz. i modeled when i wuz a kid but had 2 stop becuz i wuz not right kind of personality for this kind of work. i wuz a bit of a pussy mommaz boy at the time. 1[This message has been edited by a691vcc (edited 03-09-2001).]
a691vcc
I think I contradicted myself when I said there iz no correlation between the 2 becuz i said that possibly the so-called psychic could tell that fame wuz something on your mind,(by what u said N shit) becuz that modeling agent woman came up 2 u. But in termz of the possibility of some kind of psychic phenomenon and the meeting of that modeling agent i believe iz quite absurd.
