I'm in a Brooklyn Hip Hop mood this morning (Jeru The Damaja - Come Clean)...

Recommended Posts

You wanna front, what?

Jump up and get bucked

If you're feeling lucky duck

Then press your luck

I snatch fake gangsta MC's and make em faggot flambe

Your nine spray, my mind spray

Malignant mist steadily pumps the funk

The results you're a gang stuffed in a car trunk

You couldn't come to the jungles of the East poppin that game

You won't survive get live catchin wreck is our thing

I don't gang bang or shoot out bang bang

The relentless lyrics the only dope I slang

I'm a true master you can check my credentials

Cuz I choose to use my infinite potentials

Got a freaky, freaky, freaky-freaky flow

Control the mic like fidel castro locked cuba

So deep that you can scuba dive/my jive

Origin is unknown like the Jubas

I've accumulated honies all across the map

Cuz I'd rather bust a nut then bust a cap in

Ya back in fact my rap snaps ya sacroilliac

I'm the mack so i don't need to tote a Mac

My attack is purely mental and its nature's not hate

It's meant to wake ya up out of ya brainwashed state

Stagnate nonsense but if you persist

You'll get ya snotbox bust you press up on this

I flip hoes dip none of the real niggas slip

You don't know enough math to count the mics that I ripped

Keep the Dirty Rotten Scoundrel as his verbal weapons spit

Verse Two:

Real rough and rugged, shine like a gold nugget

Every time i pick up the microphone i drug it

Unplug it on chumps with the gangsta babble

Leave your nines at home and bring your skills to the battle

You're rattlin' on and on and ain't sayin nothing

That's why you got snuffed when you bump heads with Dirty Rotten

Have you forgotten, i'll tap you [jaw]

I also kick like kung fu flicks by run run shaw

Made frauds bleed every time I g'd

Cuz i've perfected my drunken style like sam seed

Pseudo psychos i play like Michael

Jackson when i'm bustin ass and breakin backs

Inhale the putrified aroma

Breathe too deep and you'll wind up coma-

tose the king i'm hard like a fifth of vodka

And bring your clique cuz i'm a hard rock knocka

I gotcha, out on a limb i'm about to push you off the brink

Let you draw your craw but you burnin' shot breaks

When the East is in the house you should come equipped

Verse Three:

Fly like a jet sting like a hornet

Knuckleheads get live and set it off if you want it

Dirty rotten scoundrels is crushin fools no joke

With styles more fatal than second hand smoke

Don't provoke the wrath of this rhyme inventor

Cuz I blow up spots like the world trade center

Come with the super trooper on his assault mission

The tech's technique cuz he's a technician

Wishin he'll go away won't help the weapons stop

The skills are shot cuz any idiot can let off a glock

Hard rock smellin the clutch of this untoucha

You claim you got beef on the streets so whatcha

Gonna do when real niggaz roll up on you

And you don't got your crew

Pull your glock but you don't got the heart

You was webbed straight from the start

Bought a tool and didn't learn how to use it

Got lost in Brooklyn so you had to lose it

Just for frontin you got that ass waxed

while I love Jeru, unquestionably without doubt, he ripped it the most in Gangstarr's speak ya clout...but he made the worst mistake of all by turning his back to primo...that's why his last album went double wood.....but shhhhh...don't let all the trance heads know that Im also a dl hip hop fiend

Oh my hip hop heads, where have you been all this time?! Hiding?! I thought I was the only one on this board! I love you all! :D

sneakerpimp-ask and ye shall recieve!

Take it Personal:

I never thought that you would crab me

Undermine me, and backstab me

But I can see clearly now the rain is gone

The pain is gone but what you did was still wrong

There was a few times I needed your support

But you tried to play me like an indoor sport

like racquetball, tennis, fool, whatever

All I know is you attempted to be clever

Nevertheless, cleverness can't impress

Cause now you've been expose like a person undressed

cause I see through you, I'm the Guru

Now what you gonna do when I step to you

and when I pay you back I'll be hurting you

This ain't no threat so take it personal

Rap is an art you can't own no loops

It's how you hook em up and the rhyme style troop

So don't even think you could say someone bit

off your weak beat come on you need to quit

I flip lines and kick rhymes that never sound like yours

There oughtta be laws against you yapping your jaws

Originality overflows from in me

and the truth is, that you wish you could live the

life I live and kick the lyrics I kick

But bear in mind that you can't think as quick

So Premier drops a beat, for me to say verses to

And if I sound doper then take it personal

Don't be mad cause I don't come around the way

like I used to, I don't have time these days

I'm keeping busy making power moves

Don't try to say I don't remember you

You shouldn't let your jealousy show like that

I stopped coming by, cause of the way you act

Telling my business to kids I don't even know

You're like a daytime talk show, and that's low

So you can tell everyone, that I'm jerking you

And if you don't like it, take it personal

I've noticed that my interest in hip hop started to wane when it became unoriginal, and that's when trance started to take over, however so good to go back to those grimy days of 93-94, Illmatic, Black Moon, 36 chambers..........those were the good ole' days...............

Same here, Puffy single-handed ruined hip hop for me.

Can't leave out Mobb Deep, Brand Nubian and Nice & Smooth.

oh cmon...how about ONYX, Smiff'n'Wessun, Big L, and TRIBE CALLED QUEST!!!

Definitly Smif n Wess......highlight of my life that I often forget is when they came to my undergrad for a small concert and they did sound bwoy burrial...tek gave me the mic and i rapped the whole first verse with steele in the background...i don;t think a white kid has ever had so much pressure on him not to mess up......but pulled it off without a flaw................but considering i ve heard the song 20,000 times, odds were in my favor

rap sure is dying slowly...only people trying to bring it back to its roots r M.O.P. and grimy cats like 50Cents ,CNN, and the LOX...man its sad when even headz like Fat Joe and Nas sold out....too bad Big L died..he was one of the illest...Pac was no question the greatest..B.I.G a close second..damn i gota stop writing im gettin nostalgic.....Can it be that it was all so simple then??

There's no question I'll, damage a professional

Cause I'm a big child, in this profession

Scatchin and itchin to set it, like a yeast infection

Big up to agreement rappers, don't know the half

Movin like moonwalkers with your backwards ass

I'm too fast, for those who procrastinate

Goin bananas like gorillas from the Planet of the Apes

To play it safe, you punks better wear capes

You can't escape, when I'm on your fire escape

hangin your ass out the window like drapes

You want beef I bring steak bust your motherfucking chop

It's the Ak, straight up and down, like six o'clock

I'm amped like watts with a fo'-fo' that go

Hit that toe and shot, cause word to Sadat

X marks the spot when it's time to get hot

...That's his ending verse from Loud Hangover...my god, bringing back memories of 9th grade...

exactly man...the last shit i heard from him a few back, he was on the sex shit again; and honestly the shit got tired...

like all artists, you gotta return back to the foundation...

but speakin of the state of hip hop, i give much respect to outkast, mos def, thirston howl 3 (even though he's been around forever now it seems), q-tip, and a few others who i cant think of right now...Much respect to the FORWARD THINKERS of hip hop. they're taking this shit to a new level, but yet not forgetting where they came from....

as for up and coming lyricists: PACK FM all the way son...i wonder if that little muthafucka is signed yet...
