  1. and it's so funny how critical trance haters are of this music...I think you should all channel your enthusiam to things that could benefit from your energetic criticism....like politics, the environment, maybe coral reef? Prioritize your bitchin' bitches
  2. Im just happy to see you So Joseph, no more trip to DC? very cool. DJ Dimaggio is attending the event as well, I believe. we should all meet up somehow. I'll be with about 10 people, mostly from out of town, (latin lover too!) Im sure we will have a pre-party and you're more than welcome to come! it will surely be fantastic..or we can see u there-
  3. Pvd on fri and Nick warren on saturday. Â (Roxy and Avalon) Â anyone else going? Â This is a big weekend, sure to shave a few more years off this amazing life. Â Whenever I think like this I am reminded of a great Woody Allen quote: "If we lived to be 100 we'd have to give up all the things that make us want to live to be 100." Â
  4. so what did you end up doing? how was the marathon?
  5. yes sarah that is it! Im not sure what exactly her affiliation was down in miami...but that woman knows how to throw a party and if she is ever in your town again, try to check it out, I doubt you will be disappointed!
  6. I went to Suzanne Barr (I know this spelling is incorrect) party at the Maratime Hotel Ballroom----my god people it was amazing --- no way any other party compared in the city for the night. im still recovering from the insanity.....it was the quintessential NYC Halloween that everyone goes out expecting to experience but never does.... the place was so decked out, huge stage in the middle, dancing psychos, naked people, incredibly elaborate costumes, trapeezes, swings fromt he cielings for ANYONE to use! It was a circus and I really thought someone was going to get hurt but that made things even more fun. Suzanne own liquid in miami and is aparently opening liquid in new york as well. hope she has better luck than crobar

without a doubt....when my terrain up here becomes a siberian wasteland you can count on at least a few trips down to the American Riveria.

im a new yorker, but come down to miami often. hands down this is my favorite place to party....never too crowded when I was there and I love the vibe, people, and the way the space is laid out. some of my fondest (right reba!) come from seeing some of my favorites there....tiesto, BT, seaman, pappa. so good. I hope it hasnt changed drastically. It's a fantastic place to begin the conference too....we did the last two years.
  10. Ive been wondering when someone would come up with something like this on Public Access here in nyc. Â has lots of potential if it's done well... but it looks like this is only in Miami? I'd love to be a part of something like this if it were ever to come to New York.
  11. SO what is everyone doing? are you dressing up? I was going to be Derek Zoolander but dont really have the time to figure out how to do it. Any advice on what to be? something clever and creative. for ex: i have a group of friends who are all being an icon from a traditional holiday. one person is santa, other tooth fairy, other Easter Bunny, a turkey, etc.
  12. capitale looks like it might be fun oni haloween nite
  13. honestly, avalon is OK. I mean, it's fun, but the crowd is pretty mediocre. There isnt a real vibe that I felt when I went there to see BT, but hopefully that will change this month when we go to see Nick Warren and Ferry Corsten. IM excite dto see nick, never seen him spin before... i will say that avalon is definitely a cool venue when it comes to art and architechure. you can get completely lost in the maze and walking up little spiraling staircases is a trip. The chick DJing by the bathroom is fun too. I dont know what else to really say about it. It's a good time as long as the DJ headlining is what you like. DOnt expect the crowd to be going nuts with you...most of them are from out of town and call it "techno night".
  14. well I'd be a super-er model DJ and I'd maybe accesorize with Dolce and Gabana, not Gabanna. Â no cheap imitations for me, sir. Â I must admit, you do have good taste for a boy from Cleveland
  15. I'd eventually like to write an article on this, but im curious to see who you all think the best/worst dressed DJs are? I think Tiesto is one of the best dressed DJs...always sporting Diesel or something hot, this man definitely makes a fashion statement when he performs. Now, PVD on the other hand...the man needs to think beyond the borders of his T-Shirt collection. He's a good loooking guy, and if you look at the new cover of his album, his white collared shirt looks great! (not that he has to get THAT dressed for an event, but there is a happy medium somewhere.) If I were a DJ, (which I constantly day-dream I am) Id have different outfits and costumes throughout the night. I'd be all over the place....from sleeveless shirts to priest robes to togas...but especially sleeveless shirts
  16. I hope this in store vent is a bit better than his last stint at virgin in union Sq! either way, I'll abstain from attendance---these in stores are bizarre
  17. FYI, the pvd event has ben changedd to Friday 11/14 at the Roxy. nice move, i think. lots of trance parties comin to nyc this fall! armin @ arc, ferry 11/22 at avalon, and pvd 11/.14 roxy
  18. I wasnt there, but I think my friends would crucify you if you ever told them you thought the show was OK. Â but then again...we all prefer our own styles...and as a trance lover myself (amongst other genres), I would never be critical of a not so hot PVD review. Â God knows how many trance "in your pants" haters there are out there. Â the night of pvd at the conference i ended up at nerve for Satoshi and then at Maze for James Holden and Scumfrog. they were pretty good, although the venue was practically empty. I saw Satoshi in ibiza this past july at Pacha and that was quuuuuite a show! PS: screw P-Diddy. Anyone who says "lets get up and lets get ill" 36,000 times over and over again in one track deserves the crucification, if anyone.
  19. I checked em but there is nothing there except the APT remarx! :-/
  20. apparently the event will be on that wednesday. too bad. no more parties for this junkie on weekdays. might have to catch him at space on the 22d of november instead. I didnt go see him at space during the past wmc...which everyone and their mother told me was a HUGE mistake...apparently that show was of epic proportions.
  21. I love Carnaval! the sunday party is great...its a sort of masquerade...they give you a venetian carnaval type mask when you walk in and you must wear it on your body. things can get scandalous when you can only see someone's eyes....
  22. joey, if you want you can come to avalon with my friends and I--we are probably going to go within the next couple of weeks, but not this saturday. the tickets I got are comps for any saturday night. any friend of nick and sarah is a friend of mine ;D
  23. just call the club before and tell them you are a writer with Gotham or the Village Voice and they will put you on the list. works like a charm
  24. I was walking home from work tonite and I strolled by Bryant Park to check out the Fashion pavilion for a min. SOme of Michael Jame's people are handing out comps for Avalon to people as they walk out. Just a heads up to yyou all
