  1. One for the most respected names over the past decade in the San Francisco music scene, Miguel Migs headlines at Audio for the first time on Saturday, November 16. Miguel Migs, who has a new album ‘Outside the Skyline‘, is now moving well and truly beyond the limitations of the house scene in which he first made his name. His deep seated love of reggae and dub shines strongly through as well as his passion for classic rock, blues, funk and soul. * Not that his career to date hasn’t been illustrious enough. Just look the list of collaborators he’s managed to attract: original disco diva Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King, reggae legends Capleton, Half-Pint and Freddie MacGregor, Meshell Ndegeocello, nu-jazz singer Georg Levin and bossa nova phenomenon Bebel Gilberto all feature on the album, alongside Migs’ regular vocal co-conspirators, Aya and Lisa Shaw. No slave to metronomic dancefloor rhythms and tempos, the resulting long-player blends influences from house, jazz, reggae, soul and more, with a heavy emphasis on high-quality songwriting – and equally high production values. “I definitely spend more time on my studio production sounds these days – I’m constantly tweaking everything!†he laughs. “Songwriting is paramount, but so is getting the Eq right, getting the separation of the sounds right, getting the songs to sound warm with depth, dimension and musicality… I’m pretty happy with this album, but really I still feel like I’m at the beginning of my career — as an artist, as a songwriter and as a producer. I plan on doing this for another 30 years.†* Opening set by Andrew Phelan

  4. PURa Presents PLAN B - El Duo Del Sex Orlando J. Valle y Edwin F. Vázquez, also known as Chencho and Maldy, are a duo from Guayama, Puerto Rico. From an early age they felt a great affinity for the genre of urban music. PLAN B, was the title of their first song, which achieved much success, so they decided to adopt it as the official name of the duo. Its first production, The World of PLAN B, was launched by the year 2002 under an independent label and sold more than 50,000 copies. This reached a gold album and positioned them as one of the most popular figures in this genre. They drive a different, jocular, musical formula with a unique sound and an original style, that continually places them amongst crowd favorites. This album (The World of Plan , opened the doors for them to work in international markets such as Colombia, Nicaragua, Mexico, United States, Dominican Republic and Europe, gathering many fans on the way. In 2006 they participated in the musical production The Chosen Few: Part II with the theme Freakytona, the first single in promotion. This theme was so successful in United States Hispanic television that it positioned them within the first five urban hits in Billboard magazine for that year. In 2010, they released their second production House of Pleasure, under the label Pina Records, debuting in the first three of urban hits from Billboard magazine.

  10. with Midi Matilda and DJ Vin Sol Doors: 8:30 pm The abridged version of the story of Holy Ghost! – the one that begins in 2007 with the release of the duo’s highly acclaimed, revelatory debut single “Hold On†– is less than half the story. A full retelling begins far earlier – nearly two decades before either the duo’s excellent 2009 track “I Will Come Back,†their critically lauded 2010 EP Static on the Wire and their 2011 self-titled full-length debut, or the remixes they’ve done for a seemingly endless list of esteemed artists – MGMT, Cut Copy, Moby, Phoenix and LCD Soundsystem among them. In fact, the unabridged Holy Ghost! story starts when 7-year-olds Alex Frankel and Nick Millhiser met in their elementary school on New York City’s Upper West Side. Even then, the pair of second graders were beginning to make music, nudged on by the “artsy†environs at Manhattan’s Trevor Day School and their open-minded parents.
  11. Mixing records since 1982, Craig De Sean Adams has been indoctrinating people with his own take on Detroit dance music, (sometimes called Ghetto Tech or Booty House) which is very much an amalgam of his radio predecessors. DJ Assault is also the man behind a whole new set of beats — the man responsible for some of the most infectious hooks this side of the Mississippi, including his all-time XXX anthem, "Ass & Titties".

  15. Hello, world: Rusko kindly requests that you wake the fuck up. The Leeds-born DJ/producer who ascended with the original U.K. dubstep movement – and gave it one of its first and most enduring anthems, a bolt of foul-mouthed rave lightening called "Cockney Thug" – is here to tell you that music is not about labels and dance is no fad.. "The sound of my early releases was very dub-influenced, and just good, fun, bouncy vibes," he says. "The majority of dubstep at the moment I think is aggressive, and I don't like angry music; I don't want to be angry in a club. So I wanted to make something really happy, but still heavy." "Happy and heavy" is a proper way to describe the vibe that has carried Rusko from the first moments of dubstep's life to the biggest stages in the world; from a single, seminal bass wobble to a swath of sounds that can't be capped in a few simple syllables. He might be one of the guys who started it all – but he's sure as hell not going to leave it at that. A staple of the global electronic underground, Rusko has packed nightclubs, concert venues and festivals across the world, and not only dance-dedicated ones: From Electric Daisy Carnival and Ultra Music Festival, to Coachella and Lollapalooza; from Germany's Melt! to Australia's Good Vibrations. He created the majority of "O.M.G.!," his hard-hitting debut artist album, on the road, cutting tracks by day, and testing them on living, breathing dance floors by night. But for the follow-up, he wanted to try a different strategy. "From January to late September 2011, I didn't make a single track," he says. "I spent all that time touring around the world, building up a massive swell of ideas inside me."

  22. PhutureprimitivePhutureprimitive is the moniker of Bay Area producer and songwriter Rain. Early childhood photos reveal Rain sitting at the piano plinking keys, grinning from ear to ear… a true sign of things to come. Continuing his early fascination with music, Rain was later drawn to electronic music, inspired by its ability to combine the best of organically played instruments and the synthetic pleasures of sounds more exotic to the human ear. After beginning a DJ career in the 90s, Rain began incorporating the music he was making in his home studio into his DJ sets. That was all it took to trigger a full blown love affair with electronic music and the process of its creation... and Phutureprimitive was born.*Phutureprimitive's music is singular and unique in its approach. Lush melodies drift across intricate rhythms, groove heavy beats and warm, fuzzy bass lines. Often exploring a dark and dense palette, his music also manages to convey a sense of tranquility and beauty, engaging the listener into hypnotic movement and often escalating toward a full kinetic experience. Conceived and produced in a digital environment, his music manages to convey more humanity and organic warmth than typically found in an often cold and sterile genre. Shimmering with cinematic qualities, his music ultimately speaks to the body, mind and soul.*Despite electronic music's tendency to suffer a short shelf life, Phutureprimitive has already demonstrated a timeless quality with his debut album "Sub Conscious" on Waveform Records, which still remains a top seller on the label since its release in 2004, obtaining a cult status among fans and collectors. With a string of singles released in the interim on various labels, the birth of Native Harmonix (Rain’s own Record Label) brought us the “Luminous†Ep in 2010; delving into a lyrical based production, supported by undulating synth work and a palpable haunting texture throughout. His second full-length release “Kinetik†forged new territories of emotional electronic dance music, exploring a heavier, bass-centric sound that adds raw energy to intricately detailed tracks.*With a new collection of songs released in 2 parts this year (Spring and Fall of 2013) titled “Searching for Beauty in the Darkest Places,†he takes ideas from his previous releases and supercharges them with hard-hitting dancefloor appeal, while maintaining the depth and prowess this trusted producer is so well known for ... setting the stage for his first national headlining tour this fall, debuting his collaboration with ritual dancer Caeli La. The tour will launch with the release of Phutureprimitive's first official music video, "Lucid Dream," a collaboration with multi-media production team Vinton Depiction & Michael Miller, the animation/visual effects creator behind NBC's "Grimm."
  23. All Ages Welcome! Doors open at 8:00 pm.
  24. Following a series of collaborative sell out shows, original production work and a joint mix compilation together world renowned DJs John 00 Fleming (UK) and Christopher Lawrence (USA) have officially joined forces under the moniker Fleming & Lawrence. It's clear EDM has become more commercialised and, with this, it's more important than ever to offer audiences a choice in the form of specialized music. Not every music fan wants to hear the same hits played over and over. There's a segment of the market whose musical needs are not being met, plus a new generation of clubbers who are waiting to be exposed to deeper sounds. In response to this, Fleming & Lawrence have launched a UDM (Underground Dance Music) tour; they are creating an underground vibe at smaller venues or within commercial clubs. We're already seeing this trend of specialized underground nights happening on the international club circuit with John 00 Fleming's 'J00F Editions' tour playing to packed houses worldwide. Fleming & Lawrence's focus is playing extended 4-8 hours sets that enable the pair to build a slow groove and take the audience on a musical journey. The duo's sound has been described as 'progressive house on steroids' and the vibe created is reminiscent of Sasha and Digweed. House lights are minimized with no go-go dancers on stage to further enhance an underground mood. There's a magic created when these two legendary DJs play together that is blowing away new and old fans alike. Both the DJ's radio stations are tuned into by the masses; John recently celebrated his show 'Global Trance Grooves' 10 year anniversary with a 12 hour show indicating the huge success of the radio show. Christopher also recently celebrated the five year anniversary of his radio show 'Rush Hour' which has become one of the fastest growing and most popular dance music shows on the planet. Fleming & Lawrence have headlined together at Ministry of Sound and Turnmills in London, Guvernment in Toronto, Avalon and Vanguard in Los Angeles, Godskitchen in Birmingham Uk, Foundation in Seattle, Soundbar in Chicago, Mekka in Miami, On Broadway in San Diego and J00F Editions in Brighton. They have appeared together at festivals including Dance Valley in the Netherlands, Global Gathering in the UK, Electric Daisy Carnival, Nocturnal Wonderland and Wet Electric in the USA, Boonstock Festival in Canada, and Coma Festival in Beirut. Next stop should be your club! Terms and Conditions: This event is 21 and over. Any Ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 21 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund. Support lineup subject to change. No refunds will be issued for lack of identification or invalid identification. Fashionable Attire is required, no sneakers, shorts, tank tops, baseball hats or gym clothes. By purchasing a ticket, you will also receive weekly email blasts from Ruby Skye about upcoming events, guest lists and more.
