record your mixes...no matter how bad the session sounds..just record. afterwords as your listening..you can hear where you need to focus more. frustration is part of the formula. good luck.

thats the beauty of techno/minimal techno...you can be much more creative in a live set.

no complaints whatsoever...i went sober. best night of the year so far for me. everyone in the booth including vath were bouncing around most of the night. he sucked the energy out of the room..by the end of the night you saw in peoples faces that they were completely drained of energy. trackwise i cant be specific cause most of what he plays are tracks hard to find anyway. but the sound completely engulfed the room. no room for anything. everytime you walked by a speaker you felt the floor vibrating. the little rests he gave were funky breakish techno that vath seemed to enjoy most. but after 2 or 3 of those he would start up again. crowd was fairly cool..a few shirtless morons walking around not knowing what was going on. but i had a great fucken time. always a good party when vath is there. one of the few international dj's thats still original in his style. nobody rips twilo like he does..not even cox.

any trainspotters??? he played a track round 5:20 had a male voice speaking in the background with a hard moving rythm..sort of a progrssive house style ala digweed btu just ten times harder. not too specific but its hard to convey what i heard. best fucken track i have ever heard at twilo. so pissed i didnt have my cell on me to record it.

shame you missed vath.. i decided at 3am to check it out.. my friends nicknamed him "asshole" cause he wouldnt let us leave.. top 5 sets of the year for me. he abused the phazon system... if twilo went to a 100$ cover vath is the only one i would go see.

if thats your definition of deep..then we are in agreement. i dont know of any other dj who plays as hard as he does for hours on end. i always walk away from his sets in awe. lot of people dont know what there missing. he's probably the last twilo resident that has not fallen into the recent attendance boom at twilo. i hope he shows up.

wouldnt call it deep at all.. slamming in your face techno. if you dont like minimal..if you dont like loud...you wont like vath. vocals not applicable. occasionally trips off to trance..but more german minimal sounding trance as oppose to the usual friday twilo lineup.

vath productions dont really represent his live sets. if i remember correctly he doesnt really like playing his own tracks. i'll be really pissed if he doesnt show. im growing weary of all this progressive house/trance...i need my techno fix. he rips twilo like no other.

everyone should look at it this way.. this board is a reflection of the nyc nightlife. When the board acts and looks like shit..we all take on that image. i have been around a long time..maybe over 3 years. i dont post much anymore..i dont even read much anymore. but the addiction keeps coming back. I cant seem to comprehend why people post a topic about a club night that they attended and they dont even discuss the club or music. they just give shoutouts to 20 or 30 people. Then there are the promoters that say this party is the best that party is the best. but if u ask them why..they all give you the same answer. "the music was great, the vibe was great, the dj was great".....hmmm sounded like that took a lot thought. Creativity is completely lost. The first Promoter that actually puts effort into a party will be the next king of nyc. but i dont see that happenning anytime soon. Thats why i dont see the board getting any better in the near future.

berlin, and certain parts of croatia are some of my personal favorites.

the way i always thought it went... detroit invented it.. berlin revolutionized it.. the uk glorified it.. ibiza stole it... the rest of the world is catching up and nyc is fucking it all up =) z

everyone rips on van dyk/oakenfold...but im sure a majority of us were introduced to trance through them. there only downfall is..they play more for the people then themselves(more van dyk then oakenfold..oakie is thinking $$$$. if your a dj..and you see 2000 heads still going nuts when they hear "words"..would u really pay attention to the other 1000 people in the background all pissed cause he played it again? your tastes mature over time...thats why you can understand the likes of sasha,howells,maas..etc etc. but when u play this style of music to a newbie...van dyk's words comes along a lot easier then something like timo maas's ubik.
