  1. he played it again??????????? i think that track was made as a joke to all the "zombies" aka crackheads in the clubs. if u have ever seen the video..its a fake infommercial where a guy is trying to sell you whack products. i know somebody is laughing out there really hard at the success of this record. i cant belive he played it...again.
  2. dont forget the influence of the internet.. the availability of music on the net is a luxury today that wasnt there before. i had to trek an hour by subway and walk six blocks to go to a small shop in the east village to pick up mix tapes of music not to be found anywhere else. i belive there will always be an underground. Lot of DJ's respect the underground cause its where they came from.. i even heard jeff mills would do a small party for 300$..and spin all night. so lets keep our fingers crossed...
  3. twilo used to be a place where a majority of the people knew who the dj was..where he came from..and were familiar with most of his tracks. the sudden popularity of twilo..not so much the dj's but twilo itself has attracted a larger audience. i dont think the dj's are getting popular here (menaing nyc local) out of their own merits...i think there getting popular cause they pack twilo in. i just fear it getting to the state of the other clubs...when LL had the gatecrasher party..i turned and asked somebody who the dj was.. they said it was ojeda. i was suprised but i played along so i asked.. "isnt this a party with uk dj's" his reply... "nahh dude...LL never gets any UK dj's in here." this is the type of crowd i fear.
  4. he proved it at twilo, at limelight, tunnel.. those clubs wouldnt let you "be yourself" but vinyl does..
  5. -AC/DC- sick sick sick track would label it more like progressive house [This message has been edited by sleepiswaste (edited 09-18-2000).]
  6. playing a different style also hurts you..most places arent willing to help you experiment. i just do my own parties...once a month..in small lounges around manhattan. no hassles no fuss.I invite a 100 of my closest friends..and we chill all night long.
  7. This is a Lineup http://www.acasoundfest.com/teaser/performances/areaone/ anyone want to go to acapulco????
  8. this is exactly what i try to do once a month. people who come to my parties are not music aficianados..some are..but most are not. rather then drop to that level of playing commerical stuff ala KTU..i throw down older popular tracks from 4-5 years back. it worked then..why not work now???. the first night i did the party i played an hour of old acid house/trance tracks towards the end of the night...and everyone loved it. if i had worked through promoters they probably would have ripped my head off. thats why i dont deal with them.
  9. answering machine - green velvet.. i know the remixes are out...but the original is still banging in my brain. "i dont need this shit"

  12. here's a story.... Story from Ananova news: “Richie Hawtin was so appalled by fellow techno DJ Dave Clarke's choice of tracks at this weekend's Creamfields festival, that he felt compelled to act. Clarke, bringing his set to a close in the Bugged Out arena, played his remix of Ibiza anthem Zombie Nation - so pleased is he with his mix that he then chose to play it again. This was all to much for Hawtin, who apparently harbours an intense dislike for the tune. According to an eyewitness, he went up to Clarke and raised his finger before angry words were exchanged. Hawtin then brought the record to an abrupt ending, took it off the decks and flung it into the crowd, it is claimed. Clarke appeared to have been totally bamboozled by Hawtin's actions. He picked up the rest of his records and left the festival. Hawtin then DJed for the next two hours
