  1. i'm gonna try to input my $0.02 on this debate back in the old SF days, every body was looking towards NYC: an example could be the Ashley Beedle "where are you?" when the guy talk about the Sound Factory on W27th; or have a look at all the cheesy bands named "Sound Factory" during the last 2 or 3 years, clubbing has emerged in Europe: here i'm talking about the club culture in the UK, the "French touch" (Daft Punk, Dimitri from Paris, Respect parties) or the Love Parade in Berlin but i still think NYC rules: Vinyl with DT and B&S, Twilo welcomes Carl Cox and Deep Dish, Centro Fly on Thursdays...i cannot give my point of view on S&D or PVD caus i've never heard them play (let's say D is still regarding DT as an incredible DJ and person) another fact: PVD, S&D owe their famous status to their residency in NYC and because when in the States, they are "the exotic DJs" as DT or AVH are in Europe people are always looking for what they don't have at home: in Europe the big names are American DJs, in the States, you have to be European to be regarded as a big DJ that's all for today :-)
  2. i personally use both 12" and CDs my friends in NYC burn CDs for me so i can have access to records i CANNOT get here in Paris it's also true that CD mixing (i have pionner 100) is easier than vinyl because of the "cue" function on the other hand, i live for wax, CDs are too impersonnal just my $0.02
  3. DT rules, he has one of the best musical background as for dance music, and Vinyl is exactly the club he needs: speakers, lights, no alcohol...just party time i haven't been to Vinyl for 5 months (but i get my DT fix when he plays in Europe) and hope to be in NYC late august
  4. i wish i were older i'm only 24: i was only 14 when house music hit Europe, and could not afford to buy all the records i wanted and now i'm spending $$$ on Ebay to complete my collection if i had been 6 or 8 years older back in 90, i may have become another Laurent Garnier (lol!) and if i were older, i'd have had the opportunity to experience Sound Factory when Jr was at her best and Twilo with DT an above all: an end to cancer and AIDS
  5. the first time (july 98) i went to Twilo i was so impressed by the atmosphere and JR'skills...RELENTLESS was the shit i last went to Twilo in December 99, and he plays too hard! if you are sober, you cannot dance, you can just bang your head! it's really bad i was too young to go to Arena/Sound Factory/Tunnel i really love some early works like Dream Drums, Divas to the Dancefloor *4 copies*, X... now, he is on crystal every day because of R'n'G i think he used to play till 11am at Sound factory, now 2 pm..this is ridiculous too bad for us
  6. i haven't been to Twilo for a while but drugs have always and will always be present I've been worshipping clubbing in NYC for many years, because of the music, the big rooms (bigger than in Europe), the partying atmosphere...and also because i can go to Twilo with my Nike sneakers... went a couple of times to London for clubbing and felt strange to see "so called clubbers" dressed as if they were going to Church so i don't think it's the correct dress to dance!
  7. DT was in London, Paris and Ibiza this week end! i had a blast at Queen Paris but DT didn't enjoy himself in London because of the tiny DJ Booth
  8. and other DT heads...email me: renaudballand@aol.com thanks
  9. "do you believe, why not believe in him?" it's FIERCE RULLING DIVA "gotta believe" back in 91. JR sampled the bassline for "X" and DT has been playing the original for a while, adding "EXTRAVAGANZA
  10. Rebeca and other DT fans, why don't you join the family!!! http://www.dtenaglia.com
