  1. Body & Soul still rocks on SUNDAYS. Get there around 5-6 in the afternoon and dance until closing (11pm). Be warned though. They don't sell alcohol. I usually hit a bar first to down a couple of cold ones. It's been quite a while since I've been there on a Sunday. ------------------
  2. Agreed w/ Tranza on fav dj. Tenaglia-The messiah of dance music I really don't have one favorite producer, but I like some of Tilt's stuff as well as some from Timo Maas. BT is another exceptional producer. I can go on and on... ------------------
  3. I'd just like to get everyone's opinion here on what they think of an outdoor deck party in NYC in the summer months. I have something in the works at the moment and I'd like to get some feedback from you guys. Positive or negative. I want to bring back the Ibiza vibe here in NYC. Play some baeleric tunes along with some proper house. Dress would be like if you were going to a beach or a pool. Something like this was done in Miami last year and it was a success. The party was called Bora Bora, and they played trance all day & night. Sort of the same stuff that DJ Gee in Ibiza plays. Unfortunately, it didn't last long due to rampant drug use on the beach. The cops shut it down. What's your take on this? easy! ------------------
  4. Get there early man... Dave goes on at 11-230 Deep Dish 230-close see u there ------------------
  5. That's everyone's guess but there wasn't a confirmation yet from the Boxed boys. We'll probably be seeing a Digweed release soon after the probable Warren release... Who knows... We can all be wrong. cheers ------------------
  6. Exactly as wizard said. My plan is to go to Twilo to check out Dave Seaman & Deep Dish and if we're still in the mode, which I know we'll be, Vinyl is the answer... ------------------
  7. Is yours the Kinetic release or the inc. import? Lucky bastard! ------------------
  8. Back, Danny plays at Vinyl mostly every friday night if he isn't around touring europe or America. I would say definitely check him out and see what all the rave is about him. Have you not heard him before? ------------------
  9. Im assuming he will give you on when it's done. Will you post a review or email me with one. ------------------

  11. There's a new club venue in the city. I was wondering if any of you have check it out over the weeks. I checked it out last Saturday for the 'touch' party. I was impressed. I can see they have lots of potential. ------------------
  12. And here I come with my negative opinion as some might put it. I wouldn't go to neither because they're both not my cup of tea. From the posts that I read on this board, it's obvious SF must be somewhat good if everyone raves about it. I have been there once and I won't bother going back. NYC needs a Fabric style club that endures the same underground music policy. My roomate works at Exit and he mentioned to me that they opened up the roof. That's where all the VIPs hang. Amazing view of the city. Good for them, I don't go to a club to look at views... ------------------
  13. Next GU release is by Dave Seaman from Cape Town. Release date July 31,2000 Following him is Tenaglia from London released sometime in September. for more gossip/proper discussions www.cluboxed.co.uk ------------------
  14. My ideal job is the job Sasha, Digweed, Coxey, Oakey have. They travel all around the world, play at the best clubs, make people dance and smile, get treated like a VIP, and get paid a shitload of money for it. ------------------
  15. I know I am going to get slagged for this, but I wouldn't recommend SF to you mate. I see what you post and I really don't think that's your cup of tea. Hell, I went there once and I haven't been back. If all else fails and there's nothing else going on, then check it out. Check w/ me first. When are you planning your visit here? easy ------------------
  16. Back2basics, Playa d'en Bossa is also the same beach where Bora Bora is located. Near the 'jet' apartment complex/hotels. I don't think they'll be getting any piece and quiet there. The music will be pumping all day & night. Im gutted now because I can't find a flight out in August on the days that I can go. September looks a little tough too. If it wasn't for my job, I'd take the entire summer and chill there. ------------------
  17. Who is playing trance, you ask?? LOL! NYC, Miami and the rest of America. Just walk into the nearest Virgin megastore and check out the dance section. CHEESE compilations are selling by the shitload. Hey, I don't want to sound like I am bashing trance. Good music is good music whatever the genre might be. Oliver Lieb is one of my favorite trance producers. I don't consider any of his tracks cheesy. Catch me?? Now on the other hand. Guys like ATB, Ferry, & Matt Darey. Good lord! It all sounds the same! ------------------
  18. I know there is a phatt line-up at Twilo August 4th. dave seaman, anthony pappa, slacker, steve lawler and chris fortier easy ------------------
  19. Since Dave Seaman will be doing the opening set. 1100-0230, expect a slow start and building it nice and chunky. Don't expect trance right off the bat. To be honest, i doubt he will play trance. His sound is mellow and lush progressive house with a touch of subtle trance. He likes to play tracks with vocals. He is just an amazing dj who really knows how to get the place shakin' without the long drum rolls and cheesy synths. Pure class! ------------------
  20. Cheers Wizard. Atleast someone believes me... As for Tenaglia. He spins everything from classics to disco house, and then getting into the darker and deeper side. A lil progressive, and even some subtle trance. Don't expect to hear anything from the Gatecrasher CDs. Whatever he spins, he does it right. A trip into different genres of music done right. Check him out. He is at Vinyl every friday. His GU017 London is to be released in late September from his recent set at HOME in London. easy ------------------
  21. If you want to check out a 'top' party. I suggest you check out the monthly 'touch' parties. They're off the hook. Featuring local talent, you wouldn't believe how good these guys are. Forget S & D for a week. This is the place to be on Saturdays... info www.touch-nyc.com 6.3.00 Chaelra 330 W 38 St btwn 8-9 Ave $15/$10 w/invite easy! ------------------
  22. Oh, forgot to mention that Deep Dish are 2 different djs. Ali and Sharam. Dave is set to open for them but don't be fooled by the warm up set. I think that's just as important as peak time performance. You gotta love the way Dave buils it up. Amazing! I'll be going with a couple of friends flying in from Miami. It's going to be a top night out. After Twilo, we're going to check out Tenaglia at Vinyl. In my opinion, the best djs on the planet. He is the mesiah. cheers ------------------
  23. Sorry... I have to disagree about Deep Dish not being worthy. Why don't you go see for yourself. You're going to listen to a stranger's opinion who probably knows less about the music than anyone on this board. If you don't go for Deep Dish, than atleast give Mr. Dave (all rise) Seaman a chance. He is pure class and can take on that musical journey of twisted progressive funk like no other. Here are the times Seaman 11-2:30 Deep Dish 2:30-close easy ------------------
  24. Sup club heads? Been around a while. I am 27 and have been clubbing since I was 14. Origianlly from Miami, I moved up here last year to pursue a different scene. Due to some of the parties I promote for, I usually (not always) get comps or reduced. I don't mind paying though if the line-up is worth it. I've payed up to $75 to party so money isn't a problem. I used to fly up on the weekends to check out Junior at Palladium. Remember those 'Arena' days? I can't believe I used to go nuts for him. I can't even stand the shite he plays now. That's it........Time for me to shut up easy ------------------
  25. Don't waste your time and see Oakey and Jules. Seems to me that they need some reinventing to do. Just beware of all the pissheads that follow these djs. I urge you to go to Pacha and Space. Probably the best coubs in the world in terms of crowd and looks. Just unreal! I'll be going in August during peak season. Can't wait to check out all the pretty birds out there... Stay away from San Antonio! ------------------
