  2. finding penstar is like finding a needle in a haystack at centro-fly. see u guyz there tonite. peace
  3. I love to dance to hip-hop, reggae, house, techno and drum'n'bass. I bust my moves the most when it comes to hip-hop because of the beats and cause of grinding with girls. When dancing to drum'n'bass, I feel like I'm performing some artistic dance.

  6. Glad you had fun, I'm pretty bummed but I couldn't make it myself last nite. Maybe on the 23rd for some BT action we can meetup. peace
  7. Seems house and trance rule the larger club nyc scene. I went dancing to Baktun's Direct Drive drum n bass last saturday and it was killa, it had been a long time for me. How I miss d'n'b. Anywayz, if anyone needs to get on the guestlist for this party at Shine, just click on http://www.broidy.com/party . peace
  8. Please don't generalize that all Centro-fly promoters suck cause you had problem with one. First of all, most promoters (sub-promoters) promote for a party, not for the actual club itself, so the promoters change for every day of the week depending on the party. Each party is different. And unless your the head promoter of the party, you are pretty much powerless to whatever the club decides to do. 1) I'm not sure what happened on the benefit party on the 25th, but if you think about how little $20 really is for a good cause that had a line-up that usually would be $50 minmum for at a concert level, it still was a good deal at $40. 2) That really does suck, I've never heard of Centro-fly being $25 for a regular admission, usually $20 is tops unless it is a special party. What time did you get there? Either the promoter that posted that info was wrong, the club raised the price, or the door people made a mistake. Dunno. I have to admit, the Centro-fly crowd defintely has changed. I think its mainly due to the club being 'blown-up' by Citysearch and Time Out New York as voted best club. Once that happens, it becomes the 'cool spot' to go to and hence the crowd changes. Every place I used to love that then became the cool place to go started to go downhill, like Twilo (the last 2 years of Twilo defintely were not what it used to be in its earlier years) I hope you have a better experience next time. Note, I do not promote for the parties you talked about, I do promote for the GBH parties on Centro-fly Friday nites, so if you then have a problem for one of those parties, feel free to send me bashing email or post.
  9. alive, and thankful, i worked at 2 WTC which is now gone. Thank g-d i was late for work. still in shock, peace out
  10. I work(ed) at 2 World Trade Center (second to get hit, first to fall) on the 59th floor. Luckily I was late to work, and ended up a few blocks away, but it was horrifying and surreal to watch my building collapse and then the other building fall as well. I am glad my co-workers and friends made it out OK too. I hope anyone who worked in those building like me, or had family or friends who did are fine and well. peace
  11. If Exit is closed how is it bad for the city? Besides the kickbacks that maybe some city officials get, I think the rest of NYC will be able to survive. If you think 'Everthing else sucks', I feel for you kid, if you think Exit, Vinyl and Factory are the only clubbing options in the city. There are other great clubs, lounges and parties in NYC, maybe you should venture out some more.
  12. I haven't been to Twirl in about 6 months, but I went a few times earlier this year and last year, my friend used to be a bartender there, and a few of my friends had parties there and everytime I was there the DJs sucked big time. The crowd barely moved. Has it improved, did they finally get good talent there?
  13. Enjoy school while you can, once you're out, it just gets worse and I won't say as hard, but you're life gets more routine, and you don't have a specific goal as much anymore like graduating college.
  14. I forgot to mention Izzy Bar on Tuesday has the 'Real Live' show which has great live undergroup hip-hop/freestyle show. It had great energy and vibe, but its on a Tuesday. Also Giant Step productions sometimes have hip-hop shows during the week at Shine if I remember. I went to one a few months back and it was great.
  15. Not many people on this board talk about hip-hop music or bars/clubs as far as I can tell. It's hard to find a hip-hop club/bar where the thug factor is low but the music is good. La Linea, Bob Bar, Sapphire Room, Ludlow Bar are among a few near the LES that spin hip-hop. The thug factor sometimes can be semi-high, it changes, but I've had more problems at clubs than those places. I think Brownies used to have hip-hop, but don't know anymore. I wouldn't expect to go in their wearing a suit or a button down shirt and fit in at those places, more casual and relaxed. I heard LuAnn lounge is more yuppie/professional on 5th and 11?/12th? in the village is a decent lounge that was playing hip-hop, but haven't been there yet. Bar 13 also spins hip-hop on friday i know (DJ does it off of CDs though), but not many thugs there. I'm sure there are more lounges that play hip-hop as well. peace.
  16. Centro-fly. If you're more into house and 2-step come here, if you're more into trance you're prolly better off at World. Check my signature for guestlist.
  17. SmarterChild and some other agents are made by http://www.activebuddy.com/ (I in no way work for or endorse this company) I've been using SmarterChild for a few months for the weather and movie show times mainly. Fun to curse and fight with it of course!
  18. I used to play that game 2 years back, once got caught in training at work when the sound came on and the police siren blared on my laptop. http://www.hotornot.com if fun if you're bored at work too.
  19. hi back. I'm not new to this board, but relatively new to posting myself.
  20. Bumpity bump. If you've never been to a GBH party before, you should defintely check tonite's party out! peace.
  21. I'm not a big LL fan, but LTJ Bukem and an amazing lineup. Might just have to check it out. Seems next week is the week of D&B. peace
  22. Carter, Aphrodite and LTJ Bukem in the same week in NYC, what craziness! Damn, I might have to check out that party next wednesday!
