  1. Well isn't the more that open the better? One just opened up last week near where I live in the east village. But I agree, they defintely should build more pools. Also another complaint I have is the newer gyms being built use new equipment, but some old the older equipment like the Strive machines and Hammer Strength machines where you add the weight on are better than those pulley machines.
  2. Grand opening of what? NV has been open for a few years now. A new party?
  3. Mallrats was the funniest, Chasing Amy had the best writing I think, the concept was real I thought. Saw Jay and Slient Bob on opening day (was my birthday and my friends are from Red Bank - Smith fanboys) Hilarious movie, but only if you saw all of his other movies, all insides jokes, movie was basically made for his fans. I thought Dogma sucked, and I don't like Ben Affleck either. He was good in Mallrats (small part), OK in Chasing Amy, everything after he's just too much.

  6. nice, Isn't that the french S&M place?
  7. That's a pretty good list Mugz, but I don't know about Plant anymore, that bouncer has become a jerk, he wouldn't let my friends in even though the place was dead because they had only one girl with them (there were two of them). Shine can be like that on the weekends too (the weekday parties are better.) Baktun still has great parties. I haven't been to FUN in over 2 years now, it was a pretty cool place, but no cool crowds or DJs back then. I'll have to check out a la leche party sometimes. peace and everyone have a great weekend
  8. Velvet ropes are getting on my nerve too, especially on the lower east side and east village. WTF, no velvet ropes should exist in those areas. I was so pissed last Saturday I stole the velvet rope from some lounge I won't name in ABC city. NYC needs the velvet ropes, it is NYC after all, not some honky tonk town were people where jean shorts and Abercrombie and Titch T-shirt and hats. But there a time and place for everything, and the velvet rope shouldn't be at certain places and bars.
  9. Sorry to hear you had the horrible experience at Centro-fly Mugz. I had a very similiar experience at Twillo last January when going to see S&D. My friend got kicked out because he was standing near someone who rolled, and they grabbed him my his neck, kicked him out in the freezing cold into the street. He unfortunately had our coat check tickets, and it and it took us an hour to get our damn jackets because they wouldn't even let him in to get the jackets. That experience turned me sour to the once great place it was back in 96/97. I promote for the GBH parties at Centro on Friday, but I admit those bouncers have become big time dicks. On my own birthday they wouldn't let me bring my camera (a new policy apparently, they found it in when searching my friend's purse, but if I had put it in my pocket I would have been fine) in which is ridiculous. It's a shame how bouncers and club employees can ruin the party for everyone. But with the bad comes the good, I've met a lot of friendly bouncers and bar/lounge/club employees too.
  10. I'm a few years older than you romy20. I don't love what I do, nor really like it. I hated what I majored in college (comp sci). I really wanted to be an English and History major. But I did what I did so I wouldn't have to worry about making money after college (ironic considering the technology market these days) I'm really good though at what I do, so I've been able to move into a position where I make pretty decent money and don't stress much anymore. For the last few years I've just been earning money to save up. I'm still have NO idea what I want to do in life, but I know I don't want to keep doing what I do now. I plan to take my money, and take like a year off just trying to do what will make me happy and see if I can make something from it. So don't stress about not knowing what you want to do, even if you're graduating college, it might take you years to figure it out, its part of life :-).
  11. Well since I asked the question, I should answer it. I'm a few years out of college, and I'm a independant technology consultant, so I contract here and there, good money overall. I go out usually every fri and sat, I rarely party during the week like I used to since I have to wake up early in the morning.
  12. I'm curious, seems like the majority of people here on this board go out VERY frequently, especially during the weekdays. How do you pull this off? There's only so many sick days... Afternoon jobs, trust fun babies, unemployed, drug dealer, porn star? And for those who are still students, how do you afford to go out so often? Don't you have school bills? Just curious. peace
  13. Yeah right, if he's turning 21, then I'm turning 18! Oh wait, then I can't go to Centro-fly, nevermind. BTW, Guestlist closes at 1 AM, not midnight, sorry for the mistake!

  18. I have about 130 as well on my list, but only about 25 - 30 people active at a time, thank g-d. IM keeps me from doing work, as so does reading this board, heh.
  19. Lately I've noticed that most of my friends are more into small clubs and lounges rather than big crowded clubs. I myself am moving more towards that trend. Soem of my friends who are younger than me and already saying they are too old for clubbing, and they aren't even 25 yet. Oh well, you are as old as you think you are. I know though sometimes I need a break from clubbing for a while, but then I get the urge and I'm back at it.
  20. Congratz! Their web-site is quite cool. Seems like it will be a good time.
