  1. While that might be true, it goes both ways. People tend to read one article about something going around and think that's the end all of the truth out there, like this article. I mean Stratfor is already wrong about the start date of the war, what else is based on fact, and not opinions or theorems? I'm neither for or against this war right now, because I admit do not know enough about everything behind it. And I think 99% out there do not either. The masses are swayed easily, I mean we elected Bush as our President, that should say it all. Makes me wonder back during the WWII how Americans felt about not being involved initiially in the war while Hitler, the Nazies and their allies were off trying to rule the world. Do you think there were peace protest about getting involved? Just my $.02
  2. I have most of my emails saved since 1995. And I have my IM logs from the last 3 years as well. It's like having a diary, I can reconstruct my life for the last 7 years from them. Some of it is really interesting, funny, but some of it is depressing (mainly email or convo with ex's) peace
  3. Good riddens Saci is gone, the staff there were horrendous, the bouncers were juiced up power trip heads and the coat room check people made it seem like they are doing me the favor of letting me have the privelage of checking my jacket....
  4. There is a new party premiering this Saturday at Centro-fly. I posted the party info in the promotions section: http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=144790
  5. If you don't care what anyone says, than why are you posting on this board for? Then again you posted all in CAPS too, and even 'LOL' at your own comment.... peace
  6. I'll miss Baktun, but glad the TT parties still will continue to exist. Def will try to make it Monday... peace
  7. I'll answer your first one, since I have not been to Exit and Sound Factory in over a year and am not a big fan of either club. Centro-fly on Friday nights is the GBH party which I promote for. Focused on house music, usually along the lines of more funky, deep, straight house rather than hard progressive house, though this is NOT always, as it really depends on what DJ we are having. This Friday for example we have Chicago house DJ Derrick Carter, and the following Friday we have Pete Tong himself from the UK, so it all depends. We also have hip-hop downstairs in the Pinky Room, and depending 80's/new wave/lounge core music in the Tapioca room. Dress code is relaxed, unless you look like a bum you should get in. Usually peak time is when the headlining DJ comes on, which is usually 1 AM, hence why guestlist closes before 1 AM. It is very rare that there isn't decent room to dance. Tyoe of people that go are anywhere from yuppies, euros, raver kids, and music headz. I've been to Plant Saturdays at Centro-fly quite a few times, and they have a very similiar vibe to Friday nights, with house music along the lines of DJ Dan headlining, however I am not sure if Plant is still doing Saturday at C-fly. I think Noel Ashman still run the hip-hop party downstairs in the Pinky on Saturdays. Centro-fly on Thursday I am ashamed to admit I have not hit yet, though I have heard nothing but wonderful reviews for the party. Aztec or Crystalmethod here can probably give you more info about their party. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me. peace
  8. Posted the detailed party info at http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=140285 Will see you all there! peace
  9. Jaysea, Early last year I was seriously considering opening up a club. Did the research, spoke to people, thoight up a strawman business plan. It's defintely hard being able to balance your vision, of what you want, and being able to financially support it at first and able to sustain its operation while netting a profit in the future. Bottle service is a huge way to make money at clubs (I mean people are paying $200 + for a $30 or less bottle of liquor), however it is not the end all that will sustain the money flow, bring people in, and make it a hot club. Uniqueness, the vibe, DJs, and keeping it somehow hot will make sure the club is able to survive. I think you can have a mix of a dark hardcore dance club with the VIP room having bottle service. Tunnel, Limelight were awesome clubs, but remember Peter Gaiten made money in those clubs by 'other' ways besides cover at the door or liquor... Along the lines of what Dami said, make sure that your good with the community board and will be able to get the appropiate liquor and cabarent licenses, cause that will be the end all to your club surviving. Also having enough capital to survive for the first year will be important. Good luck. peace
  10. Just out of curiosity, what clubs do you things are good in the city? I like centro-fly, do I think it's the best club, no. But when people ask me where to go clubbing, I find it extremely hard to recommend any clubs that can accomodate more than one single clique of people. Arc, good music, but all the people seem to be very into that specfic scene. Exit, yeah right one of the worse places in the city. Baktun I loved but that is closing down. Filter 14 I like as well but sometimes can be way too crowded. Where else is there a good mix of music and people where you don't have to worry if your shi-shi loving friend can hang with your DJ house loving friend? I'm just curious, not trying to attack you or anything... peace
  11. Seems to be true according to snopes. http://www.snopes.com/autos/techno/wetroad.asp peace

  13. The movies is only 2 hours and 40 something minutes I think, but that still is quite long. I enjoyed the movie too, Daniel Day Lewis did a great job. peace
  14. Long first post. Interesting story, but you make it sound like some standard Bridge and Tunnel club where everyone is drunk and fucked up trying to get with each other and Louie Devito's CD is being spun all night. Don't get me wrong, I've defintely had those nights, just never there. Maybe cuz I used to go to Tunnel back 95 - 97, but my experience was nothing like yours. Clubkids dressing up, dark fashion show at midnight, hard beats, little alcove parties, break dancers later in the night, pure energy, dancing and sweat...that's what I remember. peace
  15. What's the cover on Sundays? Is there a guestlist? peace
  16. Party info posted in Promotions section.
  17. I have a friend who is thinking about checking out Bob Sinclar this Sunday also. Who runs the party / guestlist ? peace

  19. Congratz on the sale. I was there last year, and the first day this year. I noticed a lot of the stuff though was some of the same as last year, though I still managed to pick up 2 pair of Triple 5 Soul pants and a Lithium hat. Even got my square friend to buy some Lithium wear. As I thought last year, again I think that space should be turned into a club. Only if I had some money... peace
  20. Service is alright, have had it for 3 years almost. Not on contract anymore so I didn't want to go to another service and have to be in an new contract. Customer Service however is horrendous.
  21. I've been to Centro quite a lot of times, but that man probably is the only one I've ever seen there spin so many different types of music without sacrificing skill or style. Hell I can't even remember the last time I danced to dnb and breaks on the main floor of Centro. Glad everyone had a good time. peace
  22. I would get there early to avoid lines. peace
  23. It's 21+. As for hats, I'm sure they are fine. I've worn hats before and seen others wear hats. peace
  24. I luckily was able to get in with a few friends. The lines didn't move, only way to get in was to somehow talk to the door people or promoters, place was packed beyond capacity. Got in about 12:30, caught the tail end of Vath's set. Hawtin kicked ass though. The main room was a packed like sardines, barley any room to dance. I spent much of the night standing on the couch against the wall near the bar dancing with my friends. peace
