Do people that live in NYC ever go to NJ clubs?
gqraver replied to notallthere's topic in New York / New Jersey
No. -
I would gladly trade places with you to be twenty again! Hell, I just found out yesterday my ex is getting married and I'm in big time shock. Life is going by way too fast!

Anyone going? I haven't been this psyched to see a DJ in a while. I posted the party info on the calendar and promoter forum. hope to see peeps there. peace

I was making a general statement about glowsticks and hip-hop, nothing having to do with centro-fly specifically. Hip hop is not played on the main floor usually. For GBH parties its down in the Pinky room as penstar said. Admission on guestlist reduced is $10 before 1 AM usually. This Friday Josh Wink will be at Centro-fly, I already posted the party and guestlist info in the Promoter forum here. Check it out. peace

I doubt they 'allow' them inside, Centro-fly bouncers don't exactly search you for glowsticks. Maybe I'm getting old but I'm glad I don't see people with glowsticks atcentro-fly. I especially hate seeing people dancing with glowsticks to hip-hop. peace

Sounds like a great party. Seems breaks are starting to finally hit it off. Doesn't seem like the general public appreciates it. In the last year I was able to catch some breaks when drive-by and juggernaut would bring 2-step and breaks to the Pinky room. I don't know much about breaks but I'm down with it. Defintely will have to check out the Big Apple Breaks Party. peace

Your welcome. Seriously too many people with the 'holier than thou' attitude out there. peace

I'm sick of hearing people ranking on what people do when going out to lounges and clubs. To each his own. Some people like going out to socialize and hang with their friends, some go cause of the music, some go to dance, some go to get fucked up and have fun, some go to get ass. Whatever, no one way is right. Why do you care if people spend their money to hear shitty music? It's their choice. Most lounges/clubs are there to make money, not to spread the love of music around. Hell if you just wanted to listen to music you could stay home. And if you don't like the way things are, start making a change, get up and try to bring what you think NYC is missing to the scene.

Aight people, the new changed GBH party is here re-launching this Friday. Check it out at http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78128 Also Josh Wink to spin the following Friday on the 8th, will post more info about that early next week. peace

I tried to go last night and the bouncer ridicously wouldn't let me and my posse in cause he said there were already too many dudes down there and I had too many with me (I had 2 guys and 2 girls with me). What the fuck is happening to the East Village and LES and this girl/guy ratio bullshit at BARS. It's not even a club, just a bar. Anyway, how was the party? peace

I don't have that disc set myself, but BT is kick ass. I saw him a few months ago at the Pinky in Centro-fly. His spinning skills weren't the best, but his energy and attitdue was so into the music. And his production skills are amazing I think. peace

I don't ever remember sweating my balls of at Centro-fly. Maybe down in the Pinky a bit more when its crowded. peace

Check out the the Lick*tronic party at Baktun, no cover tonite. Info at http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=77102 . Hopefully I can make it, I have a prevoius appointment I'm trying to get out of. peace

Seems most of the suggestions I have been getting deal with more how the club can improve itself than the party itself. It's unfortunate that bouncers and other club staff can ruin the party vibe for patrons by unfriendly acts. I understand what you're saying though. thanks for the suggestion peace

There are new changes to come to GBH parties at Centro-fly along with big name DJs like Josh Wink starting February 1st and hip-hop every Friday. Please check out the thread http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=77340 for more details. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make GBH parties better, please feel free to e-mail me at gbh@broidy.com. Thanks. peace

Damn I missed it. Actually got to Rivertown at 2:30 AM and the breaks were gone. Hip-hop was playin. Did hit Open Air which had some good house/electro spinning, some real young kids there though.

Yes it is, I ain't a guido though, not even italian. But I did love growing up in 'Bensonhurst'. Marine park is alright, a quiet area. 'Brennan and Car' roast beef is the BEST! Rollin-n-roaster follows second. peace

Born, bred and raised in Brooklyn. Was living there until 3 months ago till I moved into East Village. Specifically grew up in Bensonhoist, spent a few years in Brighton Beach, and then King Highway/Midwood area. Went to elementary school in Bensonhurt, junior high in Coney Island and high school in Flatbush. Worked in Sheapshead Bay, Midwood, played sports in Bay Ridge, Coney Island and Marine Park. I'm a truth southy Brooklyn peep. peace

Well Mugz, I only met you once (BT at the Pinky) but you defintely seemed cool. I understand your frustration with the NYC scene, I feel it too myself. Good luck with the new start. peace

gqraver replied to beatz's topic in New York / New Jersey
Usually its $5 on the list, but it might be a new thing having no cover. I'll be posting the info for the parties in the promoter section as a favor to the guy who runs the parties. peace
