  1. LOL!! I can't believe they called you a "gold digger". And fyi, the sex drive of a man in his 30s is often quite high! And yes, this has happened to me before. That's a lotta friction down there. But maybe you can get him to go down instead! Get toys! Anything to keep you! .....I'll be here if you need me

  3. This pissing contest has resulted in urine all over the place with nothing accomplished! LOL!!! Get over yourselves! Whatup to Chris! Thanks for rollin through on sat! And to the rest of the Biz-heads that came to the booth to say 'whatup' to myself and Marino! Now if there's nothing else about the night, or pics, or stories about after-parties, quit jackin this thread and go chop wood or something! :op
  4. Wow--- I just wanna say how impressed I am at the intelligent discussion on this thread.
  5. Some pics from last night! If you have more, please send me an email
  6. Thanks to EVERYONE who came out last night. Dave and I had a seriously great night. The vibe was very cool, and the people were pretty! ;o) Brian, thank you for the opportunity to rip shit up! Anyone have a review?
  7. Miami radio is actually really good! Even their morning show is more forward in topics, style, personalities, etc. ...hot town! ;-)
  8. I'm really looking forward to this sat----- I love the support! And ALMOST NO b/s on this thread! It's a freakin miracle! LOL!! (thanks Chris! Stop in! )
  9. Hi guys--- First off, thank you Kosta for going out of your way and setting it straight, bro. When I originally posted, I had a couple of comments that didn't need to be there. I clarified with Kosta, and he was cool enough to retract his comments as well. Props. I never said I didn't like the venue. I said the opposite. I DO give you guys credit for revamping that place, and doing it well! I was there opening night with a large group of friends, had dinner, drinks, etc. And i've actually been there more in the past couple of months than to Metro most of the time it was open. And that was pretty much to say 'hi' to Richie or to play. I'm not into getting all negative, so I'll let a lot of stuff go. I'm not telling anyone what to play. All I did was offer an opinion, and compliment the DJ. I don't know how that's an issue. And when I said you guys were "lucky," I meant 'fortunate.' I was just recognizing the talent. Good business isn't built on luck. Anyone who's even mildly successful will tell you this. Finally, I give my all to every place I play; I always have. IMO, there are few who give as much. That's why I continue to be able to do what I love more than anything. Now.... it's been a long-ass day of running around. Who's got the Goose?!
  10. Nope...not at all... please don't misunderstand. I just wondered if I was missing something here, that's all. And I like the place. It's got a great feel, esp for Jersey! I wouldnt go there 3 weeks in a row on thursday AND sunday if I didn't. I'm not 'airing', but I know you guys on this board a lot. And there are a lot of DJs who make their rounds up there more than my area....just trying to feel it out.
  11. I know this place is hallowed ground for many of you so I'll tread lightly No bashing, please. Just looking for insight. The place is very very pretty; great set up for the "lounge & mingle" crowd. The people, I must say, are really good-looking! Oooooh ladies, you really know how to put yourselves together;) It's good to see people dress nicely and try to look their best. Not too bad in the attitude department either, though I stayed inside my circle this week. Two weeks ago, I did meet some really cool people! Props to you! THE MUSIC: when this place opened up, the program was "trying" so hard. Honestly, I think it was a case of certain players telling the DJ what should be done. Plus maybe the DJ being outside of his element. Not really sure about that, but for the past month, the thursday program is 100% on the money. It's not just me saying it; I hear it from everyone I talk to about this night! Respect for a great DJ is critical when he deserves it. Jeff does. And recognition for people in the industry who frequent a club is important, too. [i've editing this post so as not to be misunderstood. Just realize that you've got a great night going ]
  12. Hey kids--- First off, thanks a lot for the t2Blender shouts! I appreciate the support. And I also appreciate the good words posted on this board from time to time.....and you know they're few and far between! So don't get caught up in the bullshit and the drama--- i don't go there. But I AM looking forward to sharing a night with Dave Marino, and to laying down some chunky funky phat dope shit for all who decide to come out and dress this place up! Please stop in the booth and say 'hi'! peace---
  13. Wow--- Intelligent discussion .......... NOT! I'm just replying to Paul's post at the top: this past sat was my first time playing at this place; it was a preview party for a party that's kicking off the last saturday of the month. The overall vibe was decent and the staff was friendly; the drinks were fine, too. And the sound system is actually pretty smart-- with low ceilings, you can't use the common 12" or 15" cabinets. So, they used a larger amount of small cabinets with a few well-places JBL bottoms. For the structure of the room, it sounds quite good. And thanks to the sound guy for 2 kick-ass monitors in the booth; they go a long way in drowing out drunken requests. After a little re-educating (musically speaking), the night went quite well. I'm glad you enjoyed it, Paul. I've played at XL many times, so it's possible you've seen me there. Stop in the booth sometime and say 'hi'. I'll be back at Sleep this sat, so if you liked the program this past weekend, I think you'll enjoy it again. It centers around good mainstream dance without cheese, sprinkled with newer progressive tracks to keep you on your toes. peace--
  14. No prob at all Marco. I can see how my line about "more of the same" could be misinterpreted. I just meant about being "nuts". It always gets hectic up there when we roll! But where XL is nuts because of so many people PACKED on the dancefloor and bottle getting iced, Docs is nuts for....the body shots! LOL!! Email me with any names and I'm happy to extend my list. They treat me and my guests with great respect and I appreciate it.
  15. Docs is NOTHING like XL, with the exception of me LOL Here's my take on Docs: I make no qualms about saying that I DON'T like the decor. It's like freakin Halloween year round! LOL..... which I guess is pretty appropriate this time of year. The booth is marginally acceptable (i bring my fav CD plyr), the sound's pretty good, the light are "eh". So, nothing like XL. The people are younger and more of a party crowd than XL. It's a drinking crowd. So, i play slightly differently. However, you still basically get my program. That's the common thread here. I think people get a little hung up on the venue. Don't forget that you go out to listen to some great music and have fun with friends. That's the point of all this! Having a great time! Some places are prettier, more appropriate for this or that.....as long as there's something there to make it good, the party could be in my basement with nice people, and I'll have a blast! It's a fun change of scenery. Come up and say 'hi'. speaking of Ironbound, anyone check out Adega Lounge on Ferry? peace----
  16. Sup sup, troy?! Thank you. I had a great time! It was nuts! Tonight will be more of the same!
  17. First off, folks.......welcome to Ironbound 2003! I've been praising the resurgence in nightlife in this area for some time. People who have a closed mind immediately write it off when I mention "Newark". Or they go and LOVE IT! So props to all of you for checking it out! I was there on saturday, but didn't play; I played on friday though, in case you were there. Yes, the hiphop DJ was good. I play the 2nd friday of every month with my buddy Jeff Scott or Kelee from VIP Records. They drop only a splash of girl-friendly r&b and hiphop to break the night and allow me to float out to the many friends who come out to enjoy. The name of our party's called Eden which fits the place nicey. For those who don't know (where ya been?! ), I play progressive, tribal, and vocal house. It's all about a good vibe! And believe me, you get it here! I hope you can make it out on my night sometime! I'll be there again friday 11/14! Reach out anytime! (oh yeah....Docs tonight ) PEEEEEEEEEACE!
  18. Hey people! Been a while since I've posted. It was a great summer with some South American travel & some domestic travel. Everything's takin off nicely....that's all i gotta say bout that! Tonight, if we havent seen each other in a while, I invite you to check out XL Lounge in Ironbound Newark! If ya know, then you knoooow! If not, you should find out! That's that. I'll be workin the wheels; Jeff Scott will accompany. And hundreds of pretty people will move! Get in there! Reach out via PM if ya need to! Or hit the site for more info

  20. Roveeeeeeeen, Ya missed a good one! I'm only up there once a month, so ya better plan for the next one. You missed XL, too.....that was an awesome night. I couldn't sleep because I was so high on the vibe! Catch up soon, doggie.
  21. If you feel like coming out tonight (tuesday), this will be the place. Good music & fun. Come out & hang. It's my once-a-month there. Show your face, biz-nayitches!
