  1. It's true, we need to be more educated on foreign policy. And you are right, air strikes won't do shit but make some Americans FEEL better.
  2. You got that right. We can't really just go bombing a country, a country is not nec. the enemy. It's certan factions that are our enemy.
  3. EXACTLY!! which is why we are taking our time to retaliate. WE ARE NOT FIGHTING ANOTHER COUNTRY (necessarily). In light of recent news of threats of future terrorist attacks, we cannot go bombing blindly. And we must gather CONCRETE evidence of Osama Bin Laden before we do anything. We cannot afford to have any more hatred against us (if that's possible).
  4. You're not cursed, Andy. We are just amid awful chaos right now that unfortunately you witnessed. But however, look at this way, if you WEREN'T there, this man may have not gotten help so quickly... Stay strong...kisses.
  5. I really liked this...it came from my friend's professor at school. Interesting and important perspective for sure... Dear Friends, The following was sent to me by my friend Tamim Ansary. Tamim is an Afghani-American writer. He is also one of themost brilliant people I know in this life. When he writes, I read. When he talks, I listen. Here is his take on Afghanistan and the whole mess we are in. Dear Gary and whoever else is on this email I've been hearing a lot of talk about "bombing Afghanistan back to the Stone Age." Ronn Owens, on KGO Talk Radio today, allowed that this would mean killing innocent people, people who had nothing to do with this atrocity, but "we're at war, we have to accept collateral damage. What else can we do?" Minutes later I heard some TV pundit discussing whether we "have the belly to do what must be done." And I thought about the issues being raised especially hard because I am from Afghanistan, and even though I've lived here for 35 years I've never lost track of what's going on there. So I want to tell anyone who will listen how it all looks from where I'm standing. I speak as one who hates the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden. There is no doubt in my mind that these people were responsible for the atrocity in New York. I agree that something must be done about those monsters. But the Taliban and Ben Laden are not Afghanistan. They're not even the government of Afghanistan. The Taliban are a cult of ignorant psychotics who took over Afghanistan in 1997. Bin Laden is a political criminal with a plan. When you think Taliban, think Nazis. When you think Bin Laden, think Hitler. And when you think "the people of Afghanistan" think "the Jews in the concentration camps." It's not only that the Afghan people had nothing to do with this atrocity. They were the first victims of the perpetrators. They would exult if someone would come in there, take out the Taliban and clear out the rats nest of international thugs holed up in their country. Some say, why don't the Afghans rise up and overthrow the Taliban? The answer is, they're starved, exhausted, hurt, incapacitated, suffering. A few years ago, the United Nations estimated that there are 500,000 disabled orphans in Afghanistan--a country with no economy, no food. There are millions of widows. And the Taliban has been burying these widows alive in mass graves. The soil is littered with land mines, the farms were all destroyed by the Soviets. These are a few of the reasons why the Afghan people have not overthrown the Taliban. We come now to the question of bombing Afghanistan back to the Stone Age. Trouble is, that's been done. The Soviets took care of it already. Make the Afghans suffer? They're already suffering. Level their houses? Done. Turn their schools into piles of rubble? Done. Eradicate their hospitals? Done. Destroy their infrastructure? Cut them off frommedicine and health care? Too late. Someone already did all that. New bombs would only stir the rubble of earlier bombs. Would they at least get the Taliban? Not likely. In today's Afghanistan, only the Taliban eat, only they have the means to move around. They'd slip away and hide. Maybe the bombs would get some of those disabled orphans, they don't move too fast, they don't even have wheelchairs. But flying over Kabul and dropping bombs wouldn't really be a strike against the criminals who did this horrific thing. Actually it would only be making common cause with the Taliban--by raping once again the people they've been raping all this time So what else is there? What can be done, then? Let me now speak with true fear and trembling. The only way to get Bin Laden is to go in there with ground troops. When people speak of "having the belly to do what needs to be done" they're thinking in terms of having the belly to kill as many as needed. Having the belly to overcome any moral qualms about killing innocent people. Let's pull our heads out of the sand. What's actually on the table is Americans dying. And not just because some Americans would die fighting their way through Afghanistan to Bin Laden's hideout. It's much bigger than that folks. Because to get any troops to Afghanistan, we'd have to go through Pakistan. Would they let us? Not likely. The conquest of Pakistan would have to be first. Will other Muslim nations just stand by? You see where I'm going. We're flirting with a world war between Islam and the West. And guess what: that's Bin Laden's program. That's exactly what he wants. That's why he did this. Read his speeches and statements. It's all right there. He really believes Islam would beat the west. It might seem ridiculous, but he figures if he can polarize the world into Islam and the West, he's got a billion soldiers. If the west wreaks a holocaust in those lands, that's a billion people with nothing left to lose, that's even better from Bin Laden's point of view. He's probably wrong, in the end the west would win, whatever that would mean, but the war would last for years and millions would die, not just theirs but ours. Who has the belly for that? Bin Laden does. Anyone else? Tamim Ansary
  6. I t may be tomorrow, I have to meet with Human Resources for a mysterious reason. I have smoked pretty much all weekend through last night. Consequently there is now no food in the house.
  7. I was kidding!!!!! I know! If I knew I could make money peeing, I would have never done any drugs in my life. There was this report once on Dateline or something where this doctor was accused of murder, so they had to give him a blood test for his DNA sample. And he actually surgically implanted a tube with someone else's blood in his arm, as if it was a vein...He got caught because the blood was cold and somewhat coagulating. I don't know what my point is other than people are desparate, such as myself, but I ain't paying for piss.
  8. Please, someone get Beetlejuice 24 care....
  9. Why are screwing with my 'special' burnt mind? Cruel!
  10. Will goldenseal clean some weed out I smoked YESTERDAY? They spring this drug test malarchy on me, and boy am I indignant. But I digress. I implore the blossoming scientists on this board to aid in the quandry of a pothead (or to be more "politically correct": Cannibis-Cranium American) Thank you
  11. Sometimes I shove myself in my closet, then have a freind hose me down to get that 'old Twilo feeling' *sigh*
  12. The party is still on. Read all about it.... www.clubshelter.com
  13. Well, Shelter is leaving Vinyl. I'm sure Vinyl finally figured out they would make more money on a Danny Howells type thing. Timmy Regisford is one of the greatest DJ's you aren't listening to. And the crowd...WOW. That night was truly my refuge from the world and from the drug-riddled/drunk/mundane club scene. This is truly on the saddest days for house headz. But underground will live forever, baby.... And thanks Robbi (you know why) We Fall down, But we Get UP
  14. Even when Twilo was here no other club came close
  15. OMG what a coincedence!!! I saw your your name and I had the runs! tee-hee!
  16. GLOBAL BASS & CONNEKTED COMMUNICATIONS PROUDLY PRESENT
  17. Must you promote that party in EVERY thread for chrissake's?
  18. WTF is that crap? and I DON'T mean *NSYNC. That was the longest promotion thread that i never read. Get that crap off my thread.
  19. I want to thank you all for being so supportive through this rough time. (excpet for that awful uallge who I know is dancing in tight whiteys right now to Bye Bye Bye with a bedazzled bandana and chapds on. Don't be afraid of who you are, honey) Back(streetboy)2Basics..as usual the voice of reason. I wanna throw on a Justin Timberlake Afro on you and go "OZ" on that ass. And wackydream, I know that took a lot for you to confess. But Jon and Richie are pretty tasty. (OMG i just typed 'tasty'). "Your not going crazy, your going sane in a crazy world"....The Tick.
  20. Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou. You should run a crisis center for this sort of thing. Those are some real catchy-ass tunes. I respect your honesty, you know as well as I do how horrifying this is.
  21. I just tried smacking myself, but then before I knew it I was spanking myself imagining Justin smacking my ass and telling me how naughty I am.
  22. Please don't be too judgemental, this is very hard for me to write. It all started a few months ago. And it get worse every single day I live. HBO had an *NSYNC special that I turned on to make fun of. I laughed, I joshed....but then I couldn't turn it off. Before I knew it I was singing along and drooling over Justin Timberlake and the delicious J.C. (OMG I just typed 'delicious') Then I found myself taping the special and watching it over and over. All of a sudden, I have "No Strings Attched" and i'm singing along to it. I have no control over my body any more. I want to be in a boy band although I am a 26 year old woman. I feel like a lecherous old hag when I think of the naughty things I want to do to JC while "its gonna be me". I know some their wicked-fresh dance moves. I hated New Kids and find Backside Boys laughable, but NSYNC has hold on me. I am afraid of what I have become. Do they perform Boy Band exorcisms?
  23. I too went, and it was worth waiting all year for. But I got to disagree..last year's was the best in my book (if I had to choose) Long Live Body & SOUL!?!?!?! Got Soul?
