it is called house dance conference, but it just a gathering at a bar where ppl go to dance. the contests that ur speaking of "entering" r not mandatory, in fact u sign up for them only if u want when u arrive at the door. everyone is allowed in (with a 21 id) and the next one is feb 5 at demeraras.

for the third time, i never said i wanted to keep it "hush hush" - im responding bc i want to make ppl aware that this is not just an everyday event. but aright, this is the last one since every time i respond, i get a condescending attitude and sarcastic winks.

i didnt mean no one should go like its some kind of secret society. what i was trying to saying originally is this - im not being exclusive, i just really do think many ppl on this board hear "house" and think one thing entirely different from what the house dance conference truly is. but fine, if ur the expert dancer and instructor, tell everyone about it and then there will be no room at that tiny place to even get down. however, like brian green himself said... some ppl can do the moves and think theyre dancing, but half the ppl dont even follow the beat. so for ppl who think they can dance just bc they got the choreography down, hdc is a wake up call... i think im a good dancer, then i go there and see the competiton or the circles and am in awe of the talents of the ppl there who are much older and more experienced than myself. i agree dance is an artform that should be shared by many, i just dont think a "club" messageboard is the place to advertise this particular event. but what do i know...

yeah this thurs was the first one i had been to since the summer, and i started going last year. i love when they have the house contest... but why r u posting it on this board, i mean it is cool to tell ppl about it who would actually appreciate it, but that place is tiny - we dont want just random clubbers crowding the floor. not trying to be like exclusive, but it is mad small... i would say, only go if u wanna witness really hot dancing or if u think ur a good HOUSE dancer. and dont try to go for the music, bc the djs arent really up to par at all.

first off the name of the post is JP lovers only so all the haters shouldnt even be reading this. but yes, it definitely was an insane time, the music was sick, and anyone who complains about it closing early... well it was new years and it was only $40 and it was still almost 24 hours, so just chill.

is this true? jp at exit on nye? bc exit was also supposed to have this major thanksgiv eve deal and it all went downhill... and $40 is less than they used to charge for most sf themes. so it all seems pretty sketchy, however, if it is true: jp at exit will be one of the hottest ways to spend the new year. regardless of how crappy the management is, exit is a hot spot. so maybe ill keep my fingers crossed? when do tix go on sale?

i hadnt been to avalon since it was limelight... but i have to admit, i wasnt disappointed at all. there were so many ppl, the music was bumpin, ferry kicked ass. i kinda wish i had more room on the dancefloor but i def think last night was worth it. and avalon looked good, i miss the grimy days of limelight, but looking up at the rafters, i know limelight will never die! ferrys energy was out of control. im really glad i went.

idk, is the the new britney and madonna track remixed? they have the vinyl all over nyc, satellite has like 30 copies. "me against the music"?

it was $10... and it was on a monday night, so thats why it was strictly pvd fans. no cracked out random clubbers were there. but it def was a hot night.

that is really SAD!!! i was in there last friday as well, and it is just so great to have a place to get vinyl besides satellite. they had a good selection, and they were nice and helped u out if u needed it. i found a good number of tracks every time i went. now... all i have is satellite, dont get me started on that place.

are any of those tracks the one played around 6:30, 7am ish? it was a female vocal song, kind of disco/house-like. it was really cute... i want the vinyl! please help?

friday night kicked ass. lately i havent been so much into trance as i usually am, i feel like its been a lot of the same sounding tracks but as always... paul has the newest, most diverse selection of music, from cheesy to banging. the set was off the hook. roxy was too crowded for a while, but around 5 it got spacious. idk why anyone would go home prior to that time, the ends of pvd's sets r always the best. there was one song in particular i loved: it was a vocal track, but disco house-sounding with a girl's voice... around 7am? i know its a vague description but im trying to find the name of the track... if anyone can help? bottom line: PVD RULES!

my guess: BULLSHIT. i mean come on, it was supposed to happen at exit, and look what is there now for thanksgiving... lame ass hiphop on the main floor and wannabe djs in the upper rooms. (sounds like a kick ass regular fri night at the club actually.) and yes, i am prepared to get yelled at for this.

i was always a trance fan, but jp is a remarkable dj and every time i went to sf, all i could do was dance dance dance. i wish he would be at classics... one more time...

does anyone have any accurate info as to what jp is going to do now? and whats happening with classics? in my opinion, sf themes r the most fun events in nyc right now. the place is not a club - its a whole other universe, and somehow i dont understand why anyone would change it seeing as how much $$$$$$ it brings in... please answer my 2 questions

central park was good, a lil weak bc i think it was the place - environment of a nice summer night made pvd play a pretty trance-y set... but im hoping he rips harder shit at roxy. i just wanna dance all night. maybe i should get a ticket?
