a bartender at my restaurant asked me if i knew where 30 people could go out for a small amount of money. they are having a birthday party and want to spend less than $40 per person (meaning no cover, strictly alcohol). is there anyone who can help out with this - it is for this weekend. again 30 people and they want to get some kind of deal to a club where they don't have to pay a ridiculous cover AND pay for drinks. they would like to get tables but understand it may be difficult with the funds they are trying to use... ANY THOUGHTS would be greatly appreciated. thanks

i had been contemplating walking over to sullivan but was unsure of the cost and didnt know how crowded it woulda been... i shoulda gone. i literally sat around all night, playing soul calibur, smoking cigarettes, and waiting for the phone to ring. to top it all off i got in a fight with the one person who called me. oh well i got plenty of sleep since i went to bed before 1am so maybe ill have motivation to go out tonight instead. any suggestions...

the one night i have nothing to do. the one night i got dressed and straightened my hair and did my makeup. the one night im not being lazy and sitting around drinking / smoking with my roommate and her bf (they went out). the one night i dont have to wake up for work till 5.30PM tomorrow........ and i have nothing to do!!!!!!!! my luck sucks assssssss, why isnt anything going on. i wanna go out, wahhh.

it used to be good last spring. i went alot on sundays, bc i didnt have to do shit monday mornings. but now i work 9am every monday. although i was talking to an old party mate on new years and he said show went downhill like everything else - the asian swing dance is now in full-swing. and its not the same crowd it used to be. maybe ill go this sunday to check it out anyway. i havent been since summer / early fall...

normally, i am very nice and supportive in my posts about jonathan peters, however, new years at spirit was one of the most anti-climatic club events i have been to in a while. i got there at 9.30am which was pretty good timing since i got a good 8 hours of sleep from the equally anti-climatic night before and waited on no line at all. when i got inside, i was extremely surprised to find it was nowhere near as crowded as halloween was. the crowd was kinda strange, not much unity or as many people call it: vibe. i just didnt feel anything inside the building. i tried to dance, but couldnt really get into it. and by 3pm the place was practically empty. i left at 6.30ish which i think is around when it closed. but overall the day was just blah, semi-boring. maybe its the atmosphere of the building itself, im not too sure. i went up into vip for a bit in the afternoon and felt a little more of the old shady sf environment, but not much, so i stayed on the main dance floor because there was so much room. although i was forced to get my coat out of coatcheck and dance with it on because it was so cold in there. anyway, overall i was extremely disappointed with the day, when i left i was feeling pretty lost and didnt know what to do with myself. i didnt have to work last night or today because i had anticipated being completely shot, but now im just sitting home, bored, and wondering what happened to new years eve / new years day being this enormous event. i just hope something soon will reinvest my energy and excitement because i need to get out there and dance.

banging night. too bad im so goddamn responsible and left bc i had to sleep before work.

it was worth it to check it out. brought me some good memories. too bad hardcore took over every room, otherwise it would have been great. it had a nice grimy, party feel - i had missed that!

this is the first time in the past 4 years that i am not out at a club or party dancing my ass off. i just wanted to say i hope everyone has a great night, but for once i am home at my parents' house getting ready for bed. i didnt wanna spend $40 to hit up roxy although i wanted to see steve lawler, and i didn't feel like wandering around spirit when i can go there any time and make the night just as fun because that place can always be a good time if u want it to be. i will make it out friday for erick morillo at crobar because it will be free and ill drag my sister so i have someone to be with. going out alone has been totally worth it for me, and i do it all the time, but tonight i decided to come home to the family and i think i made a good choice. i cant believe i didnt go out tonight but its all good... HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD NIGHT OUT! DANCE IT UP FOR ME! im thankful that i found electronic music and rediscovered my love for dancing and i hope i never forget how free i feel when i dance. happy thanksgiving!!!

best jp night i have had at spirit thus far... music was great. yeah it was packed but it was halloween - whatd u expect. i thought the line was gonna be forever even though i had a ticket but then a bouncer told everyone with tickets to just come up front and we walked in with no id check and no search. i was shocked. there wasnt much room to dance, but as long as u were actually moving, people gave u space - and i did move so i had plenty i stayed till 9ish and it was definitely worth it. but spirit just isnt the same as factory. man i miss that place. cant complain though - it was a good halloween for a virgin. and i loved hearing "only when i lose myself" by depeche mode into "after all this tiiiiiime."

i don't think it will be TOOOO crowded. ordinarily i would say "yes this is gonna be packed, we won't have room to breathe let alone dance" but there are so many other events going on tonight that i do not think it will be utterly packed. i mean i know of people who are opting for josh wink at crobar or charles feelgood at sullivan room or chris liebing at avalon... i think it will actually not be too bad. IM HOPING ANYWAY BECAUSE I WANT SPACE TO DANCE!!!!

theres a place in tribeca, i dont know if thats too far. its about 10 blocks north of the WTC site. dylan prime 62 laight street (corner of greenwich) 212-334-4783 www.dylanprime.com the scene is trendy, a lot of 20s and 30s business crowd. its a steakhouse with a lounge side as well, a big crowd after work usually. if the group is larger than 4 i would recommend a reservation... the craziest night is thursday. let me know what u think, its not too far outta the way.

i have to admit, i also loved that guy... and im sure after the first half hour, he DID go home and go to sleep. hes smart, it gets so fuckin crowded usually and people at clubs suck lately. i wonder if he will hit up IKON now...? and i wonder what he does during the day...

i doubt EVERY place in nyc is touristy but mostly big clubs yes... new talent would be interesting but avalon can get annoying. im thinking crobar... anyone else have input?
