  1. oh my fucking god... is that slacker that's on his way here december 7th???
  2. fucking amazing night... harvey spun one of my favorite sets this year. stayed for like an hour of doc martin's set and left rather early b/c i was beat. even though doc martin was great, i was feeling harvey a lot more. unfortunately i arrived a bit late and missed out on dhm (can anyone fill me in on that?). once again, thank you joe and all involved w/aquabooty. marcos.
  3. shit man, james... i was already mentally prepared for howells, but christian smith... do you know how long i've been waiting for someone to book this guy... i think i'm going to have to head out for both.
  4. i second pacha ibiza level... what a fucking joke
  5. in this order... 1. sander kleinenberg (tribal sessions @ B.E.D.)... fucking amazing set, chilled out/low pitched tribal w/ the most amazing vocals, plus, B.E.D looked surreal at 7 AM with the sun coming into the white room. 2. ali (from deep dish 4/20 set @space)... he reminded me what deep dish is all about. so much better than sharam a couple of months after in space. 3. danny tenaglia @ space this past labor day... i didn't think too much of tenaglia until after labor day this year. the man kept me there until 3:30pm. 4. kelvin andrews @ level for independence day... as in every kelvin andrews set i've heard, you just had to be there to believe it. 5. lee buridge @ spin... i absolutely loved this set. wish i could have danced to it. 6. yousef @ nikki beach (wmc) amazing old school house... as rain was pouring all over us. set was finished inside. 7. jason bentley @ rain (wmc)... we were finally all together for wmc... and what a set! does anybody remember meshell ndegeocello - 'earth'?! 8. danny howells @ space (last sat.) this guy is out of hand. 9. nicodemus @ rain... the smaller room at rain, often overlooked, always brought amazing talent. probably the best set i heard at rain outside of the wmc. 10. tom stephan @ tribal sessions B.E.D... leo, i couldn't have said it better myself. 11. gavin hardkiss @ san francisco burning (albion, wmc) many great sets this day, but this man took the cake (looked really cool in his trench coat as well). by the way, amazing location for a party. i know i must be forgetting some sets, but there you have the top eleven. i purposely did not include resident djs because the list could become endless, but i would definitely include in here dhm (everywhere i've seen them they play an amazing set whether it be @ascencion, rain, lola, space or blue). i personally preferred their gigs at blue every saturday night last semester. there's just something about that place. juan mejia's opening set for harry 'choo choo' romero recently at crobar was OUT OF HAND(romero's set was equally amazing)!! mono henao's and chris duque's sets @ lola (fridays) were very good as well, particularly the night they went all tech house. frank's set at the living room was amazing, to say the least, but unfortunately, i couldn't get to hear demo's or sean's set.
  6. SIEMPRE SEREMOS PROOOOOOFUUUUUUUUUGOOOOOOOS.................. LOS DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS

oscar... you are so fucking full of it... and the worse part of it all is that your residency has the worst vibe (not slagging you, your music or the guests you bring... but the crowd...) quality oscar... it's the quality that counts, not the quantity.
  8. the owners of pacha do own quite a few places... more like 60 or 70 something venues, including ibiza (off course), london, buenos aires, rotterdam, munich, barcelona, palma de mayorca, etc., etc., etc... the list goes on and on including a whole bunch of cities in spain (i think valencia also has a pacha)... there will also be a pacha opening up in budapest soon, if it has not opened yet. san juan, puerto rico used to have a pacha, but it closed... i'm not 100% sure if the puerto rico pacha belonged to the same people, though. i've only been to the pacha in ibiza and it's the only place i've ever been where everything is PERFECT... music, venue, people... everything (everyone that knows me, has heard about my "thing" with pacha). as of whether or not the vibe can be recreated in the other pachas... probably not... a different vibe will naturally come about as the venue moves to a different culture... i've heard amazing things about the pacha in buenos aires, though. many, many of the dj's we all listen to, keep refering to it as their favorite place to spin.
  9. i'm glad to hear things back home are shaping up (scene-wise). what i had seen all my summers and winters going back was pretty shameful. flamenco is a very nice beach... haven't been there in ages. el yunque... man you should have gone... it rains everyday there... there's no escaping from it. anyhow, glad you had a good time. marcos.
  10. sean... let us know how it went
  11. paul davis from circulation is so fucking out of hand... tech house at its best
  12. sounds very good... i'll definitely try to make it there.
  13. ok.. ok... i know that everything is planned already for the meetup and with me being lost for such a long time and all, i've got no right to come and change plans... BUT i'll make a suggestion, nevertheless. the thursday two weeks ago and yesterday i went to fuacata @ calle ocho to see le spam and the allstars (some of you probably remember them from rain when aquabooty was there... they fucking rocked the indoor room everytime they were there.) anyhow, they be on later today at the palm hotel in collins and 30th (or 33rd i can't remember) it's going to be an afternoon affair (6pm-midnight) by the poolside (i suppose) listening to some of the coolest funk you've heard in miami before. i'm thinking of heading over with some friends. if someone wants to head over to the beach a little bit earlier and wants to meet us there, give me a call (305) 790 3752. otherwise, i can meet you up at the parking lot at 10:30. ciao, marcos.
  14. frank man, i have to appologize for not having been able to make your gigs since the one @ the living room, but with this cast in my leg, i depend on if other of my friends are going or not. anyhow wish you the best and congratulations on your gigs.
  15. hey victor, the place i had been telling you about that was supposed to be a cool hangout place was the waterclub (i heard it's not unlike nikki's). i haven't been, so i really can't tell. laser has been there ever since i can remember... rather shady afterhours. sean... i haven't heard of sala... most clubs are not in the old san juan area, but nevertheless, old san juan is a real cool area, so you might be in for a treat. you guys let me know what you thought of the whole scene... i haven't been hanging out there in quite a while.
  16. happy birthday monica!
  17. man lee... you take the fun out of everything... i haven't been involved in board drama in a while, you gotta let this one pass.
  18. hey BUDDY, this is a messageboard. i can say whatever the fuck i want... AS SIMPLE AS THAT!
  19. what a fucking joke hey emi, these are aquabooty regulars you're talking to here.
  20. it used to be amazing a while back (until about 1997). nowadays the scene is really shameful. i know there is a place more or less like nikki's and i'm trying REAL hard to remember the name... it's in a hotel in isla verde... AND i don't remember the name... but i heard it's good. i'll have to ask around. but it's NOT calypso beach club (so if you ask and that's the response you get, DON'T go there). babylon in the hotel san juan used to be good but from what i hear it sucks lately and the line is endless. nevertheless the lobby @ hotel san juan is an incredible place to people watch. there used to be a place called fussion in el viejo san juan (restaurant/lounge) that was supposed to be cool as shit but i don't even know if it's open still. i can't think of anything else. i'm thinking you're going to be in san juan (just like everyone i know that has been to puerto rico) but there is not much to do outside of san juan. if you're looking for quality djing, i'm sorry to tell you that you picked the wrong island. but the place is very nice and sanjuaneros are cool as fuck. ciao, marcos.
  21. good thread... i would have never guessed any of these names. my name: marcos
  22. sorry to hear that phrank... if i hear of anything i will definitely let you know.
