  1. I have one of those, but it's only for emergencies. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  2. This song makes me tingle! ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  3. Vanity will never overpower love, trust, hope, and more then anything else, natural beauty. Also, I hear what ur sayin in ur post, but forgiveness can be very enlightening...I'm sayin, rather then "hate" people that were mean to you, realize that it's their own unhappiness that would cause them to be mean and shallow...in this way it's easier to forgive them, and realize that you are fortunate for being the wiser. .....and if that doesn't work, then just dance your fargin ass off the next time you're at a club, and maybe that'll help ya feel a little better. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  4. I'm not sayin it doesn't bother me that people can be so ignorant, but as I see it if someone is stupid enough to think that money and beauty are all that matter, then I'm not so scared about the strength of their "dark force" b/c it's not fueled by anything with real power...it's just a hollow shell that crumbles very easily.......and not for nuthin, but there are a whole lot more ugly people in the world then beautiful ones...so if they ever need to, they can just unite to over-throw the evil empire disguised as Victoria's Secret and Baywatch.... "Power to the ugly people!!" ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  5. I think everyone gets what ur saying here: when it comes down to what's really important, alomost everyone knows beauty, wealth, or social stature don't mean shit!! And the people who haven't figured this out TRULY live empty, lonely, meaningless lives. BUT, BUT, BUT...on the same hand, beauty is an art form, a subjective art form in which an individual is able to express what they are thinking and feeling. Hence, what I find beautiful, you don't, and vice versa. My point is this - just because a guy/girl has a beautiful person on their arm, doesn't mean they are shallow, trying to gain respect, impress others, etc. Part of being human is being drawn to what is beautiful to you, and there's nothing wrong with that. And seriously...considering you have the wisdom and strength of character to *know* better then to judge a person solely on appearance, why do you care sooooooo much about this type of ignorance in others? I'm really wondering y this lights such a fire under your ass. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  6. ...and isn't that a beautiful thing? ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  7. He'll be there, and the H Foundation is opening for him..I never heard them b/f, but word has it they're pretty good...and if not, then Fontaine is sure to make up for it. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  8. You're always makin me laugh Anyway... 25. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!" [This message has been edited by jewel44317 (edited 01-08-2001).]
  9. First of all, I have to say I can't believe I even read this whole thing. Anyway... Hunny, first and foremost, if a girl is searching for her self-esteem by seeing how many guys will hit on her, let me tell u, not only will she NEVER find it, but she is taking steps away from ever having any by behaving like a cheap slut. Dancing with guys is one things...grinding is not dancing- its sex with clothes on...and that's all fine and dandy for single people, but if it's in your face then that fu&%in rude!! But sweetie- this girl you're seeing is not what I wanted to respond to. It's you I wanted to respond to- it's all cool that you're not jealous or possessive, and I respect the fact that you're so open minded, but obviously if you wrote this novel about your girl grinding and all that other shit (massages, girls hookin up, etc) then it's bothering you, AS IT WOULD ANY NORMAL PERSON. It's not so much about how you're reacting, it's about the fact that she says she loves you, but fails to consider your feelings before acting the way she does. It's obvious that you care for this girl, and I emphasize the word "girl", but the truth is, she is disrespecting you to your face by acting this way. If you wanna be respected, then YOU HAVE TO RESPECT YOURSELF FIRST...and right now you're gettin treated like shit. Sorry if this is blunt, but it's kinda hard to respond to a post like this in just a few words. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  10. Here's a crazy thought...ever consider stayin in the scene without the drugs? No matter how you slice it, drugs, of any kind, are not only bad for your relationships, but you as an entire person. It's not the "scene" that's a problem, it's not being able to enjoy it without drugs. If this chick has problems with you takin drugs, then that's one thing. I mean do u roll every week, or are we talkin once in awhile? If she hates the music/scene, well then you both need to figure out if you can accept this difference in each other. Me personally, I'm addicted to the music and no one could take it away from me...I wouldn't want them to, nor would I be with anyone who tried to. On the same note...I would never be with anyone who took drugs beyond the level of experimentation. Trying them, or doin em once in a awhile is a helluva lot different then, "If I go out, I roll." I mean, shit, the music alone is enough of a drug, anything else are just some sprinkles on top...colored sprinkles, but still just sprinkles. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!" 11. Hey...Steve (GreekStud) and I are tryin to work somethin out. As of yet, its been hard to cross paths, but I'm hopin 4 next week one day at Flute. Keep ur eyes open. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  12. Look at the thread, "Lounges" on the first page. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  13. ...which reminds me, "Swim" is on Orchard btwn Rivington and Stanton...haven't been in awhile, but I rememeber it being a very socialable atmosphere. "Guernica" downstairs is another...upstairs is a restaurant....its in the Ave B-ish and 4th st area...look that up though. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  14. There's been lots of talk about the Tunnel coming back...I'm thinkin it will b/c that place has so much potential....just need a DJ with pull...as of yet though, I think ur right, it's probably still very sketchy, so make sure u bring your shades. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  15. Liquids on 10th btwn A and 1st gets some really good DJs...I've been on Friday and Thursday. Leopard Lounge on...I wanna say 2nd Ave and 5th st is also very chillin and cozy, although you bound to get lung cancer if you hang upstairs to long. Alphabet Lounge is a bit small, but has has some very smooth DJs and interesting people hangin out....can't remember the local. ....and for a different change of pace....Flute is very, very plush and pretty....two floors, spacious...some-what glamorous crowd, but its mixed too, and I don't think stuffy....many cool alcoves to huddle in with friends and people watch...i was there on a Wednesday, and the music was, um,...well I guess I had too many Cosmos b/c I can't remember, but I definitely had fun. Its on 20th btwn Park and Madison - 95% sure. Guess I'll stop now. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!" 16. Oh good, pOOh, since you're not enthused about Fontaine with me, I'll be enthused about Hawtin with you (I'm hoping he is who u r drooling over.) ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  17. I'd have to disagree. I finished grad school this past May, and although it gave me a few gray hairs, it also helped strengthen my mind. Knowledge is power, always. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  18. Eh, I don't live by that saying either. I think Seb Fontaine is excellent though, and I just wish everyone was as enthusiastic about seeing him as me...however, as far as difference of opinions, well that's what keeps it interesting, and just b/c your opinion is wrong, i can still appreciate it. (j/k). ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  19. Wow, foolish me, I assumed everybody liked them. To each his own...but as an aside, I prefer to hear postive comments rather then negative. I mean, for someone who's never heard Seb Fontaine b/f (like that guy who's goin back to college), you could be stealing his thunder without meaning to. I know, I know, you're entitled to your opinions, but as momma used to say, "If u don't have anything nice to say, don't sayanything at all." Hope this doesn't offend u. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  20. I'm confused...how can u compare him to PVD and Oakie, and then say he sux? You don't like them? ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  21. LOL, you crazy! ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  22. SOOOOO, what's the word? Where is this Greek Stud Man anyway? PPL seem interested so lets make this happen...is it Flute or Tribeca Grill? ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  23. I bought, "Tonight a DJ Saved My Life," for my friend for xmas. It goes all the way back to the begining of dance music, through Studio 54 days, hip hop, upto the present day emergence of the electronic underground subculture. There's even a review from DT on the back. ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  24. Check your PMs ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
  25. I guess its a common misconception that all Wall St. people, or those in the area, are all in brokers/bankers. I mean many people are, of course, but not everyone...and not for nothing, but I wouldn't be interested in any meet-up that was that "exclusive"- now THAT would be something to vomit over. Anyway, *bump* ------------------ "Spontaneity is the key to spice in life" "Music makes the world go 'round...so keep it spinnin!"
