    Any experiences to back up that claim or disprove it? More specifically... "club" dancers, house dancers, latin dancers, break dancers, hip hop dancers, heck, ballet dancers... let's hear it.

    What would the idea height, weight, and build of your man be?

    A lot of girls I know would much rather date a guy who was slightly overweight than date a guy who was slight of build.

    Personally, I like the lean mean breaker build... :D

    Some random things running through my head...

    * Looking at the media, the image of the idealized male is one of strength.... the broader shoulders the better. For women, most women in ads/on TV are a size 0-2 or 4 at the most... for men, weight is much less of an issue, and it's more about tone than that of weight...

    * Women spend money and time to lose weight; almost never to gain weight (except eating disorders but thats not them voluntarily trying to gain weight)... men spend more time and money trying gain good weight than to lose bad weight... being slightly overweight as a guy doesnt seem to be a huge impediment to getting girls. Conversely, being a super skinny man is usually impediment...

    * Men workout predominantly to gain mass, women to lose it...

    * There are no such things as 'healthy curves' on a man... in other words, men cant compensate for their weight by, for example, having nice breasts...

    Depending on the girl, it can be harder to get it "completely clean/smooth." Whatever you do, do NOT let the waxer go over the same area twice with the wax... my GOD, that was painful. All I can say is, NEVER get a Brasilian in El Paso, TX... especially if the waxer doesn't speak a work of English (luckily I can get by on broken Spanish) and starts talking to her hubby on her cell in the middle of the strip...

    Just bought a ticket to see them on March 29th at Avalon in Boston.

    $35... not half bad. I'm gonna try and sell it if I can get comped...

    Willing to do S&D anytime anywhere (they were AMAZING last time I saw them... a couple summers back at the old abandoned airport in Hong Kong),

  22. My Deep Dish @ Transit (& Envy, & Philly in general) review....

    I brought two girlfriends of mine to Transit... it was their first time ever at a rave-esque event. We arrived around 2am, and the place was PACKED. It was ridiculous. We made our way to the very front and started dancing... got pushed around by some trashy dj groupies, so we moved to the side (bar/pillar left of the stage) and chilled there for awhile. I was the little Asian girl in a pink tube top, super low rise jeans and comfy sneakers...

    Is it just me, or does Philly seriously lack good dancers? Maybe I just wasn't around any... disappointing because most of the girls around me were grinding (GRINDING!!!) with guys... I'm sorry, but you just don't grind to house... grr. Pet peeve.

    What was up with the "VIP room" upstairs? Didn't look like much of a party to me...

    The basement was fun... some good dancers down there, especially one taller, younger, lankier guy and his two female friends. We took a break on the couches for a little while just watching... my girls really have to work on their stamina, because they were ready to go around 6am.

    All in all, we had a good time... Deep Dish was terrific, and I was glad I got the chance to see a live performance.

    OTHER PHILLY-RELATED REVIEWS: Walnut was a great place to pick up new clothes... pricey, but definitely worth it. My friend Mona and I walked 20 blocks into South Philly for a cheesesteak from Geno's... MMMMMMMMMMMM. :D Yum yum yum.

    Oh yeah... we also checked out Envy on Friday night. It was nice getting in for free (just pose as a Jefferson Medical student, they don't check IDs), but then again it was a really good thing we did... I wasn't impressed with the setup or atmosphere. A friend of mine had a little too much to drink, so I spent most of the night taking care of her... that also kinda killed the mood. The dj on the second floor played reaaaaaaaally old stuff (Castles in the Sky, I Turn to You, Let Me Love You Tonight, etc.), and once again... a severe lack of decent dancers. Most people were there for the meat market atmosphere... the skanky law and med school students drunk off their asses got old real quick.

    All in all, I had a nice time... picked up a few new outfits/shoes, did some dancing (at Transit), sampled a good Philly cheesesteak, took in the sights. I may be back to visit my girls again, but until then I think I'll stick with NYC. Oh, and Jeff - sorry I wasn't at Life Sunday night, my friend decided she needed to make her Monday morning pathology lecture after all, and we stayed in watching cheesy movies. Maybe next time?

  25. My First Time in Philly this weekend... 2/15-2/18

    You guys are the BEST... I'm getting all hyped now. I have a feeling Philly's going to be amazing... Kimball Collins, Deep Dish, and Vicious (is it true JV'll be at Shampoo on Sunday night? it does check out on his website) in 3 days are going to be hard to beat. :D

    If any of you want to meet up, send me a PM and I'll send along my cell... my girl I'm visiting isn't familiar with the club scene, so this'll be a first for her and her friends, too. :) I can't wait to show her a FANTASTIC time in her own city! What are the dress codes for all these places? Thanks again for all the tips, I can't wait to get me a nice fat Philly cheesesteak while resting up for another wild night... :o
