  1. On a personal note, I've been pretty disappointed with the LA club scene so far. I have yet to try Sugar and Spundae, though. Is there an LA equivalent of Sound Factory or Tunnel (RIP) (both in NYC)?

    That being said...

I have a fun, sweet, absolutely beautiful friend who's only 19. She wants to check out the club scene, but would prefer a non-cheesy 18+ club (hope that isn't an oxymoron) or a club that isn't too strict with the ID policy. I have no idea where to get her a fake around here, and am not sure how good those work, anyway.

Her pic is attached, if that matters. Any suggestions?

  2. I'm looking for some cute necklaces that I can wear with sundresses, etc. this summer... any recommendations? Silver/gold? Stones/gems? Someone from work told me turqouise is "out" now.

Pics would be great. I don't normally wear jewelry, but figure it shouldn't be too late to start.

  3. Eh, I only come here once every month or so... must've missed the pics the first time around. Oh well.

I think she looks much better. She was way too skinny before... now she's got some curves and looks like a woman instead of a teenage boy.

But then again, I'm not stuck on society's rule that all women have to look like anorexic crack whores to be attractive... she's probably a size 6 or so now instead of an 0/2, and it looks great on her.

    To each their own.

  4. Yeah, Jon's an excellent dancer... he really feels the music when he dances, and does Michael Jackson better than anyone I've seen to date. After winning Star Search, he bought himself a cute Mitsubishi Eclipse.

But yeah, I know which clips you're talking about... where he was ripping in a club, and three at a jam where he was flipping all over the place... I don't know of anyplace online with those clips except BBoyWorld (possibly), but you can probably hit up Mantiis (EwokNation) and he could e-mail you the clips.

Justin is smart as hell for learning. He will open up and spark interest in a whole other direction. It's funny & strange because months ago I was thinking that he should learn how to breakdance and he actually is!

Yeah, my boyfriend's a bboy... bboy Flave, SEC.

    The Infamous Flave & Ruen

    Style Elements Crew (SEC)

His and his brother's video will be out soon. He's teaching me now, and it's coming along slowly but surely... bgirling is definitely a workout!

Yes, I know Crumbs/Donny. Drove him, Flave and Ruen up to Frisco this past weekend for Zulu Gremlin's ProAm. They had a performance... we met up with Stuntman there, Poe couldn't make it due to an injury so Rawbzilla subbed for him. Donny has a tight new pad in the Hollywood Hills, just moved there last week... he says Justin picks up dance moves REALLY quickly.

    Do you bgirl?

  6. Ja is back and he's not singing this time around. He's responded with a freestyle calling out everyone from Em, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Truth Hurts and Lil Mo. Throughout the track Loose Change, Ja calls 50 - "loose change", Eminem - "feminem" and Dre - gay. Over the instrumental to Nas' 'Made You Look', Ja says:

"...What you wearing the doo rag for? You never gonna have waves / you never gonna understand Black pain / but you could become the first white rapper slain / just get your money man / the Inc is running thangs; you hiding out with loose change...Em you claim your mothers a crackhead and Kim is a known slut/ so what's Hailie gonna be when she grows up?"

Word around the industry is that Eminem already had something recorded for Ja, and was just waiting for the response before releasing it to mixtapes and websites.

  7. Club AD - highly overrated, good for visitors who want to go celeb-sighting... HUGE line outside, but once you're in, hardly anyone's in... slow from 10-midnight, picks up a bit after midnight... drinks are pretty strong, music is commercial...

The Stock Exchange - NOBODY WAS IN THERE when we went... 30-40 people in the club at its heigh around 1:30am... great space, just not very popular on Saturday nights...

Still haven't checked out The Palace, I really wanna go... :(

    Peace,

  8. Interesting random bit of info from a friend, thought I'd share...

Bboy Crumbs (Style Elements Crew) was just hired by Justin Timberlake to teach him how to bboy/breakdance. At least Justin will be taught by someone authentic, arguably the best bboy in the world right now, as opposed to some sucky "hip hop" dance instructor. Timberlake will be paying Donny/Crumbs $300 per hour for private breaking lessons... 2 hours a day, the entire month of April. That comes out to 300 x 2 x 30 = $18,000 for one month's worth of work (if you consider two hours' worth of dancing per day work).

Justin's first lesson was yesterday. Donny says the guy is "mad cool" to kick it with... apparently he's really down-to-earth, chill and respectful. He said he really respects/is a fan of

Style Elements, has been following them for awhile, and his dream is to enter a battle with them in 5 years. That would be crazy...

I wish I could make $18,000 in one month. It's too bad I didn't pick up breaking back in the 80's, the bboys are getting a ton of work right now (Jolly Rancher commercial, GAP commercial, Toyota commercial w/Smashmouth music, AT&T commercial, etc)...

  9. LOL... sad, but it only makes them look worse. If they need that kind of validation to make themselves feel bigger/better, I almost feel bad for them.

Speaking of celebs and such, last night I bumped into Seann William Scott (Stifler from American Pie) at the movies... he was alone, and I'm still kicking myself for not saying what's up. Sooooooooo hot... wanted to touch the hiney... hehehe. He's an awful actor, but he looks damn good in a tight white shirt. I don't normally get starstruck, but he's a cutie.

What gets me is those cheesy Hollywood parties... I got this invite for last weekend, but chose to go snowboarding instead. It's sad how all females are expected to be/act like whores at "industry" parties... and the fact so many so willingly do only perpetuates the trend. I'd rather be out on the slopes than be expected to wear next-to-nothing and slinking around arrogant execs.
