  1. Life under 35... NYC 35 and Over... San Francisco!!! //sariman ------------------
  2. Old school hip-hop will never die. I still have ToneLoc's signature from years ago. I wanted to go see Run DMC here not to long ago, but didn't make it. I know what you mean about hip-hop though. I still enjoy some of the beats, but there is way to much agression and anger in todays rap. Being sexual and seductive is one thing, but most rap today is just archaic. It takes talent and intelligence to make true hip-hop... just as it takes a master to make good electronica. I think then scene will change a bit. We'll start seeing harder hitting music. With more congested sounds, but I don't think much of the main stream house music will change. You can already see the rap fans imergence in the scene with "booty-house"; rap lyrics to hard hitting house music. So I think your safe when it comes to house music progressing into a mating dance, but your not safe from those people migrating into the scene. The more I look at the scene the more I see people in it for the wrong reasons. It should be about fun and love for the music not hot chicks in skimpy clothing dopped up on the latest mind fuck. Not that I mind the hot chicks in skimpy clothing. off my soap box now.. back to work. //sariman ------------------
  3. BAH! Not all guys feel a need to put up a strong and manly front to prove his masculinity. Women however expect men to be jerks and when they are anything differnt most of them get bored with the situation. That's been my experience. Sure guys need attention. Not 24/7, but in alot of ways our needs aren't that much different than yours. IMO, one of the best ways to show a guy that he's #1 in your book is public displays. Just as society has drilled into the heads of women that they have to super-slender. Society has also definened what a man's traits are suppose to be. Women expect men to act a certain way and anything different is scary to them. Anyway just a quick 2 cents worth. //sariman ------------------
  4. What a great night, but they really need some damn air in that place. I'm suprised there aren't more deaths from the heat. I was on the stage all the way through Guy's set and by the time I went upstairs to rest I was soaked in sweat and half-faint from the heat. I was sober too, so I know people rolling had to be hurting. //sairman ------------------
  5. Sorry I missed you you at Limelight... great night though! You going to come out to the NYCares thing this weekend? Email me: ben@sariman.net //sariman ------------------
  6. I ran across a flyer for this at Satellite yeasterday. I'll definitly be checking this out. //sariman ------------------
  7. I suppose I should add that this is ONLY a 2 hour activity starting at 10:45. A group of 10 people, myself included, will meet at a location and proceed to the B.A.R.C center... which is a NO-KILL animal shelter in Brooklyn. //sariman ------------------
  8. For those of you that have been through the NYcare orientation I just recieved the March Calendar. This would be my first volentear with NYCares so I figured I would start easy. There is a dog walking on Sunday, Mar 11th. If you've been through the orientation and are interested email me at ben@sariman.net If you haven't gone through the orientation and are still interested then check the NYCares Website They provide the orientation program 4 or 5 times and week and it's only a 30 - 45 minute class. Hope to hear from some of you! //sariman ------------------
  9. In a random fluke while killing time before watching the opening of Monkey Bone (which is the funniest movie I've seen in a long time!) I spent some time in virgin listening to there wall-o-music. I came across a CD Jeff Beck "You had it coming". I looked this guy up wondering where the hell he had been and it seems he's been around since 68 he just never took his music seriously enough to have it comercially marketted. He's teamed with people like Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and even played guter alongside Roger Waters! His latest CD is far to inovative for words. Mixing hard techno bass lines with industrial samplings and killer gutar rifts. If your into Techno/Industrial or just like new sounds check this cd out; you won't be dissapointed! It has it all; hard techno. chill lounge, GREAT BLUES, and perfect complation. Best tracks in my oppinion: #2 Roy's Toy #4 Rollin' and Tumblin' #5 Nadia #10 Suspension ------------------
  10. I've lived this way before I even knew a word for it. I went skiing a few weeks ago to Hunter. On the way back I stopped off at the Mc Donalds at exit 20 off of 87. They were selling hearts for valinties day to support kids and gave you a pen to write a message to the kids. I wrote. Live Life P.L.U.R //sariman ------------------

I wouldn't miss the concert in May for anything! God I love that band! I just wish Rage were still together to open for them like the last time I saw them. //sariman ------------------
  17. Thanks soo much blue. The id's were a fantastic idea! //sariman ------------------
  18. Very possible... some people just simply don't like being around people with certain qualities... but I get the age not only with some friends, but in work too. Work normally changes however when I do something that shows them my experience level is really higher than they expected it to be. ------------------ [This message has been edited by sariman (edited 02-05-2001).]
  19. Thanks guys. I agree with most of you in that my age does put me at a disadvantage in some areas, but I think it's given me a much richer soul. Ooana, trippintrance.. thanks guys. uknjx.. try driving backwards I hear it helps! jewel.. are you trying to rack up some frequent flyer miles! haha Anytime girl... anytime... I had a blast friday. boa_boy... is that what that is? What sport is it a mascot for... I have it because I've been told I dance like a kangaroo! And thanks everyone else for your replys. I'm just myself... I don't change. In someways I understand it's hard for people to relate to me because they might just see my age... but hell I'm just living my life YO! //sariman ------------------ [This message has been edited by sariman (edited 02-05-2001).]
  20. Girl you know I won't be there... mainly because I'll be imitating a snow ball at Hunter Mountain... and because PVD in November was tooooo packed and I actually go for the dancing as much as the music. //sariman ------------------
  21. I'm here... few thousand less braincells but I'm here! What a fantastic night... I can still hear the 909 banging away on my heart. Damn he opened SOOOOO hard and closed so funky. Great night! I didn't enjoy the silent parts, but I guess he's got to let everyone come down abit of people would start dieing on him! Thanks everyone for being out and thanks pulsedriver for dragging my sorry ass there in the first place... sorry I disappeard for so long I had to visit the infamous closet. //sariman ------------------
  22. This fact has been popping up more and more latly in my life and I just have to pose this question to the openmindedness of the board. Do you belive that the respect and friendship a person recives is weighed LARGLY on how old they are? Take myself for instance; I'm 20 years old and working a full time job living in NY. I'm a pretty fortunate 20 year old, but I'm also cursed with the inability to relate to people my own age. This causes me to find friends that are older than me, but after a little time passes, most of them begin to see my age rather than the person I am. What are your thoughts/experiences on the age/understanding gap? Do you think it's something that can be overlooked or simply a fact of life? //sariman ------------------
  23. So I'm sitting here listening to a Sasha & Digweed Progressive trance set.... totally popping out over a post-binge-drink-hangover And thinking my introduction into the rave scene was trance... so I wonder if that's why I love this music so much despite liking others as well. What about you guys... what was your intoduction genre and what still makes you "cream your pants" today. //sariman ------------------
  24. I totally agree... wide range of music from trance to techno... the night was great! It was good seeing all the board people... furnace, noiseboy, ezdreamer, filthy_slag, and a few more that I can't remember because I was so freaking DRUNK! See you guys tonight hopefully... It's going to be a sick night with Hawtin at Twilo! //sariman ------------------
  25. Great advice... no use in putting yourself though a mindfuck... he'll realize one day what he missed and you'll be happy with someone else. //sariman ------------------
