hoke, a few things: if someone told you you couldn't wear anything you happened to like - you like things because they're comfortable or because you think they look good on you, plain and simple - what would you do? and, how would you like it if all women only wore long-sleeved, turtlenecked, floor-length, waistless dresses, with no contouring whatsoever? would that be satisfactory? and tastyt is correct, men will yell perverse things at you, no matter how good or how shitty you look. and tastey - "give me 10 minutes with you and i'll show you how it's done" is not a compliment, or even something as nice as "being hit on," especially when said to you by a man who follows you for a half a block. don't forget that most of us women have a certain degree of fear of strange men, because they can RAPE us. when i lived in nyc, this was part of the reason i started wearing a discman everywhere. and one of the best things about moving to l.a. was not having to listen to people disrespect, insult, and inherently frighten me on the street.
