hahhaha we had the same thing at my school, but there was one nite some drunken tool kept pulling the fire alarm and the third time, I just got sick of it and instead of leaving i went into my closet, sat on the floor and dumped the contents of my hamper over my head so I wouldn't be seen. I was just there for the first time 2 weeks ago - not bad really, I thought it was cute. Hip hop DJ was a tad repetitive (and double repetitive when the second hip hop DJ started downstairs playing the SAME kind of hip hop). Found the staff to be quite nice too.

Whoever said that there's it's commercial vs. underground and not hip hop vs. house hit it on the head. I have been to house clubs where things have been played more than once, but they are cheesy shit clubs and I went there knowing that to start out with.... but any decent place, that probably won't happen. I have only been to hip hop parties where they play commercial shit but I am sure they must exist out there in a more underground form, you just probably won't find it at Suede.
As for DJ's playing the same thing week after week - well duh, that's going to happen! Playing the same thing more than once in a night, however, is lame unless you have a really good reason (i.e. breaking a song, etc.) Could you imagine the expense if, every week, a DJ had to replace all his/her records so s/he would never play the same thing two weeks in a row? yeah right... but really, when I was at Luann's (sp?) two weeks ago, I heard the jump off like 3 times and that awful R Kelly thing 5... isn't that overkill?
BTW - Boom, can you please take that girl and her nasty cunt off your signature? It's really a bit excessive and I don't want to block everyone's signature. Unfortunately, there isn't an option to choose. Thanks.

OK I don't really want to step into all this mess but... Misk, I know you were trying to defend someone who probably isn't even a board member and could be getting trashed without even having the chance to defend herself, but don't you think that's pretty fucked up posting other people's emails? Would you like it if someone did it to you? That is a total invasion of privacy and, IMHO, very uncool. I've seen lots of your posts and I know you are out to do the right thing and all but I feel like that was totally over the line
btw on the original subject, I'll admit it, D isn't the only one who has felt like that. I know I've thought that sort of thing to myself, so have my friends, and I think it's a normal way to help pick yourself up off the ground and move along. Posting it on a messageboard might not be the best idea around but I wouldn't jump all over her 'cause she thought that way - I know lots of girls AND guys that have had that same sentiment.
