  1. I can't say the name rings a bell, but I do shop at Love Music and I'm sure we did meet. I'm terrible with names. Drop me an e-mail or a pm sometime.
  2. I don't think it matters whether a DJ spins vinyl or CDs, as long as his mixing and programming skills are on point. I feel that the music itself is what's important, not the format of the music. Danny Tenaglia says over 50% of his night at Vinyl consists of music played from CDs, and when he travels, that number is closer to 75%.
  3. The new Deborah Cox vocal is "Absolutely Not," and there are remixes by Hex Hector, Guido Osorio, and Nic Mercy. I like Hex's mix the best.
  4. I'm starting a residency this Thursday at Deep in New Rochelle, which is 18 to party. I've been going the last few weeks, and I know that it's been packed there. It's cheaper than going to the city, and if you live nearby, you should consider it. I'm spinning from 1am to closing, so come say hello if you drop by.
  5. I have been spinning at Premiere on Fridays for 3-4 years now, and although the 2am closing time is a major downer, I really enjoy working there. Drop me an e-mail or a pm and we'll talk.
  6. This is Frank Berardi, and yes, I'm still at Premiere every Friday.
  7. "Connecticut's Best Trance and House DJ" Humble, aren't we? The track you're looking for might be "Sunrise" by John Paul Cento.
  8. Richie Santana's mix of Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me" came out on a white label about 6 years ago, under his former alias Sweet. It had his remix of "Conversation" on the other side, which received much more play than his Rockwell mix. You'll probably have a hard time finding that now.
  9. I believe the first ID is "Don't Stop Me Now" by Mystique. It's an import, about 4-6 months old.
  10. I can only speak from what I know, but I'm fairly certain that Mike Macaluso's "The Final Chapter/O Fortuna" edit will never be released. He originally did the mix as a tool for his use only. Since then, he's given it only to his close friends and to DJs who play in major rooms (such as Tony Draper, Boris, Eddie Baez, etc.) I'm sure eventually it will leak out, as all tracks seem to these days. As for Rob Girellini's "Young Frankenstein," the track was included on a demo CD he made, along with his "Crouching Tiger" mix, his mix of Stacy Smith's "Where Do I Go," his mix of Whitney Houston's "Fine," and several others. The CD was for record labels and DJs only, so I don't know if any of the tracks are or will be signed.
  11. I know there are a lot of DJs who post here, and I was just wondering where some of you might spin. I have residencies in New Rochelle (at Deep, starting this Thursday) and in Connecticut (at Premiere in Stamford on Fridays and at Liquid in Norwalk on Saturdays). I also do guest spots at various other clubs, in NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, etc. I feel extremely fortunate to have the privilege of playing music to crowds of people several times a week. I'm doing what I love, and getting paid for it. What could be better? That's why I enjoy reading the posts on this board, learning what educated clubgoers have to say about music. I would like to come hear some of the DJs who post here spin when I have the opportunity. So where do you guys (or girls) spin?
  12. Andy and the Lamboy did the remix of "You Set Me Free" by Abigail that everyone mistakes for a Johnny Vicious mix.
  13. You know, I thought it was Mada and Moody, but someone whose knowledge of music is infinite told me I was wrong, that it was Aldo. I guess no one's perfect.
  14. The track you're looking for is "The Party 2001" by Kraze.
  15. The track which samples Salt N Pepa's "Push It" is called "Rocketbase" by Jark Prongo.
  16. The remix of "The Final Chapter" that Louie Devito played is called "The End," which is also produced by Mike Macaluso. I believe the other track you're looking for is "Sushi" by The Moon.
  17. I believe Aldo did the remix of "Music is My Life."
  18. Tranza, We must know each other. I spin all the time in Westchester and Connecticut. I see you mention people like A-Luv, Joe Lodi, Frankie Magz, and Angelo Fecci, all of whom I also know. I also shop at Love Music when I'm too tired to go to the city, and when I'm not spinning, I try to bounce through Emanon for a bit on Thursdays and Fridays. I'm sure we either know each other, or have a bunch of mutual acquaintances. I enjoy reading your posts on the board. You definitely know your music. Drop me a PM or an e-mail, we'll chat.
  19. I think the title is "When I'm With You," and I agree that it's very good.
  20. Did Acid/Skibs do a remix for "Get Over Yourself" by Eden's Crush, or is "Love This Way" the only mix they've done? Thanks in advance.
  21. Let the Sunshine In - Fifth Dimension I Believe in Love - Paula Cole Life in Mono - Mono Lately - Divine My Love is Your Love - Whitney Houston
  22. It's not cool to say that the main floor lineup is "fucking wack." Don't hate other DJs. You're entitled to your opinion, but when you say your room is gonna bump because the other DJs suck, you sound petty. I'm sure they work just as hard as you do. Show a little of the same courtesy you would want for yourself. JMO.
  23. I go to Premiere quite often on Friday nights. I'm good friends with the DJ, Frank Berardi. He's a really nice guy. He's a good DJ, too. Unfortunately, ownership doesn't totally let him do his thing, but he has a ton of new music, and tries to play as much as he can. He's good friends with a lot of the NYC DJs, and he produced a few tracks with Mike Macaluso. I always have a good time there with my friends. I know it isn't the city, but it's cheaper, it's always crowded, and it's an alternative to going to Manhattan if you're not in the mood. It's also a cool warmup before you troop down to the city for afterhours. Let me know if you guys are going to have a meetup.
  24. "Running" by Information Society (Victor Calderone mix)
  25. I would have to say "Let the Sunshine In" at SF when JP played on Fridays. Electric.
