  1. Jay, So why don't you move back to New York? I'm thinking of doing it myself. Although, knowing what I know now about NY's club scene, I might get lost. Heckling bands...that's funny. I used to play in a band when I lived in Dallas. There was always some guy out in the audience who was like, "Play some Skynyrd, man! Free Bird, man, Free Bird!" That wasn't you was it? DAV
  2. Thanks guys. I'll keep you posted on when I'm coming. Perhaps we can hook up. Speaking of K, I think our friend Mr. a-tip must be writing to the board straight from Sound Factory. Ha! DAV Bermuda
  3. Hi all. I'm planning on doing some travelling this year to Toronto and San Diego and was wondering if anyone could recommend some hardcore techno clubs to go to in the areas. I'm looking for something along the lines of New York's Sound Factory if anyone is familar with it. Thanks! DAV Bermuda
  4. Hello. I'm rather new to the club scene and was only really introduced to it on a recent excursion to New York. I am planning on doing some traveling this year probably to Chicago and was wondering if Chi Town had any clubs that rivaled those in New York such as Vynyl, The Tunnel or Sound Factory. Any recommendations? Thanks. DAV Bermuda
  5. I'm rather new to the club scene and really got a true taste of how it is done during a recent trip to New York where I visited Twilo, Vynyl, and Sound Factory. I definately felt Sound Factory was the best club I went to in New York but they were all fantastic. I have plans to do a little travelling this year and was wondering if some of you would recommend any clubs to visit in Chicago, San Diego, Miami or Toronto. I'll check out some of the other boards on this site, but I thought I'd ask the experts first. Thanks. The Notorious DAV
  6. Twilo has better music and a better sound system in my opinion. SF has a better overall club - more bars, nice chill out rooms, more places to dance and/or relax, more people to trip out. Notorious DAV
  7. I'm very new to the club scene. In fact, I just came back from New York where I was introduced to the real world of clubbing and from what I saw, I would say Sound Factory was the shit. I like my music hard and I like my parties long. I got there at opening and stayed til they kicked us out. No matter what, you can always find an area at Sound Factory where you can be comfortable. Lights were incredible, huge dance floor. I found that the people were outgoing and friendly. More so, than at any of the other clubs we went to. The energy was very high at SF. It was a very cool experience. Notorious DAV
  8. We came, we saw, we didn't sleep at all! Big thank you's to all of you who made our visits to Twilo, Vynyl, and of course, Sound Factory very enlightening. If any of you are interested in coming to Bermuda for a party weekend, let us know, we can always help with accomodations. Thanks again. Cheers! Mike, Digi, Notorious DAV, Paul, Aradia and Carlos
  9. No, but I'm planning on it this weekend. The Notorious DAV
  10. Back2basics: In regards to your travels this summer to the beautiful island of Bermuda, I was wondering if your soon to be wedded friend needs a bachelor party or were you planning to have that before you left? In any case, I know a very lovely young lady who would be more than happy to oblige in providing entertainment should the occasion arise. I just thought I would throw that out there in case you were interested. Take care. DAV
  11. Well, folks just one more day and we're off to expand our celestial beings in the Big Apple. I still am not quite sure as to where the hell we are staying but I'm sure we'll figure it out. I am told that we will be experiencing The Tunnel on Friday night and definately Sound Factory on Saturday night. Again, look for a guy with a cape or a white guy with his hair in "Negro Knots". There's more of us, but these are the only two that will stand out. We hope to see you guys there! The Notorious DAV
  12. I don't know your friend, but practically everyone I hang with works for the Bank of Bermuda. So, I'm sure someone I know knows them. That's pretty close. Small world. I don't work for the Bank and everything I hear about it, I'm glad I don't. I don't deal well in hardcore corporate atmospheres. I'm a web designer by trade. Anyway, I must run and pack. Off to New York to do destructive things to my person. The Notorious DAV
  13. La-Z-boys mounted to the bass speakers. Monkeys dressed like police officers Jello wrestling Networked Playstation 2 or any video games where people can play against each other. Video screens in the bathrooms showing Godzilla vs. Mothra movies. Computers for internet access so we can download porn. Bean bags Midgets on stilts Glowstick Olympics Okay, that's it, I'm exhausted. It's 5:00. I'm going home to pack. See you tommorow. The Notorious DAV
  14. I'm kinda jonesin' for a pill myself.
  15. I think breast implants would look great on you. They would bring out the colour in my eyes. DAV
  16. We're flying out from Bermuda to see all of you guys, I hope. -->Friday - Saturday: The Tunnel -->Saturday - Sunday: Sound Factory -->Sunday - Monday: Sleep -->Monday - Tuesday: Home Cheers. The Notorious DAV
  17. We're coming all the way from Bermuda to see you. Tear the ass out of it. Yeeeeaaah. The Notorious DAV
  18. No problem. I would be glad to take you bar hopping. We'll talk more as we get closer to the date. I am not Bermudian, but several think that I am. I'm a good faker. I'm actually from the Chicago area and if memory serves me right, that is where you are from as well? DAV
  19. Tell your friend congratulations for me. There are a lot of beautiful women here. Your best bet during the week for House tunes is unfortunately Oasis. It is the only house music type club that is open during the week. Thurs - Sat, you are better off at The Lava Lounge as I was telling you before. I'll keep checking back with you, but if I forget, email me and I'll give you more details on the island. Give you a little tour if you want. Email is: vxbda@yahoo.com. Take care DAV
  20. Don't care? Well, there are some nice one bedroom studios available for about $900/month here in Bermuda if you are interested. DAV
  21. I think it was you back2basics that was asking about Bermuda's nightlife??? Anyway, I was going to continue the post but they erased all the msgs. During the week, I would recommend the Pickled Onion or Blue Juice. I like the Pickled Onion for the fact that it overlooks the Harbour. They have cheesy touristy entertainment playing there later at night, but if if you can overlook that, it is pretty nice atmosphere. Blue Juice is cool too. It is small but trendy in a cosmopolitan sort of way. I find on the weekends it gets a little cramped and claustrophobic, but during the week it's alright. They have a comfortable outdoor patio with a fountain where they play videos projected onto a wall. There are other places too. I don't know what kind of music you are into or if you want to go to a place that captures a real Bermuda flavour, but I can give you more suggestions depending on your preferences. I would honestly stay away from Club 40 or Oasis, though. You will be bored. Take care and I will rap at you later. Cheers! DAV
  22. Hey all, we will be staying at the Carter? hotel from Feb. 16 - Feb 19. I believe it is in or near Times Square. If you want to call us and bother us, ask the front desk for "The Notorious D.A.V." Otherwise we will be at Sound Factory on Sat - Sun. Look for a guy with a cape, a guy with white blonde hair tied in knots like Coolio or a big chested girl with planets on her dress. It will be hard to distinguish the rest of our gang. The three of us are the only really nutty ones. That's all for now. I hope to see all of you out there! DAV
