  1. If I re-size them - I can upload them to CP - but they open up HUGE! I'm going to try the pixel thingee.
  2. I do - but it still shows up extra large on CP - even after I re-size it. Any idea why? Some of these pics are pretty good!
  3. Hey Vic - I have tons of pictures of the DCCP crew - but no photo shop so they are all huge! Someone help me!!!
  4. Yeah - and we should make our friends listen and pretend they like it! Seriously - that sounds like a fun idea! Maybe next week after your lesson or sumpn'.
  5. You've met him. He's the one I'm usually trying to beat up! *lol*
  6. No doubt! There was something very reassuring about getting encouragement from host of people who have so recently been in my shoes. So how do you know that group? And have I met you yet? Let me know how your lesson goes!
  7. You would be surprised how many people DON'T know this! Drives me crazy! I have to hide my toothpaste so my roommates don't go squeezing the tube all willy nilly! Boy - I really wish I were kidding!
  8. I'm with you on that one! And it makes me kinda sad that songs don't stick around longer - matter of fact. I'm not above throwing out an oldy but goody, that's for sure! Then again - I'm no music snob!
  9. I think I have about 50 now. Some of them were given to me, though. I'm trying to stop buying so many until I really get this beat matching thing down. It helps to really know your records. Anyway, it is an expensive habit! I know Kuro has spent OODLES of money!
  10. Yeah - please don't scare them off guys!
  11. I have the Technic 1200 MD3s - they were about $400 each new(caught an awesome sale at guitar center!). I have a Gemini mixer - can't remember which one - it was $150 used. It has 4 thingees though - so you can hook up turntables and cds if you want to. Headphones are Sony - not the silver ones - they were about $69 I think. I spent another $20-30 on wiring and power strips. Now, records are a whole other ball game!
  12. First see if you can practice on a friends to make sure you think it is something you really want to do. You can rent a studio w/ 2 turntables, etc. for $20 at Meatrack too, I think. Then, if you decide to go for it - I would buy top of the line turntables. That way - if it doesn't work out - you can resell them and not lose too much money. I bought my mixer used and it is fine for my current level. Once I get better - I think I'll get a nicer one and some speakers. Right now I have it all hooked up to my little living room stereo system. That's my .02!
  13. Oh geeze Kuro - is that all you think about? Juliette is cute - but she's married. There are a couple of other cute girl DJs there - but I'm not sure what their "status" is.
  14. $35 for one on one - it is a lot cheaper if you do the group and if you're just starting out - I would do a group first, practice a little and then come back and do an individual - which I think is really helpful for someone who is at least a little on their way. You know you are welcome to play with my decks anytime!
  15. I did the personal lesson. How far along are you? I've been spinning for 4 months - so I didn't want to get stuck having to learn basics because someone else didn't know them in the group. That's what I would recommend. That way you get to start out exactly on your level and Juliette is really good about figuring where you're at! Of course - if you know a few people at the same level - doing the group lesson is a lot cheaper. Let me know what you think if you end up going!
  16. You *have* to check it out! Honestly - the only reason I took the lesson is because a friend knows Juliette and really encouraged me too do it - even if it was just for networking purposes. I was completely blown away by how much I learned in just one session! I've been screwing around for MONTHS and just not quite getting it! I wish, I wish, I WISH I would have done this earlier! I'm going to take another lesson in a few weeks - after I practice what she showed me last night!
  17. I'm always behind the booth at Buzz. OH - you mean spinning! Um - we may have to wait a few weeks on that one....
  18. Wow - I hadn't heard that he died.
  19. Definitely! By the end of the session - I was beat matching no problem and even mastering when to bring in and take out the records! It was such an awesome feeling!
  20. Okay - I did the most awesome thing last night! I got a DJ lesson from DJ Zelda (Juliette) at Metatrack! I learned more in 1 hour than I have in the last 4 months! It was incredible! I would highly recommend that all of the DJs on the board check Metatrack out! They have several phat ass studios and I think even some of the more experienced DJs could learn something from Juliette! She's AWESOME! I've had other people try and show me how to beat match - but *she* is a born teacher! Plus - everyone there is so cool! Lots of local DJs hanging out, listening to each other. There were even a couple of femal DJs down there! Tonight they are having "groupie night" w/ the East Coast Boogiemen . Check out their website: http://www.metatrackstudios.com/
  21. You can take out a tongue ring too. You just have to put it back in within a few days or the hole will close. I'm trying to remember how long it took mine to heal. I know the first week I talked like Elmer Fudd and then it was all good. At 8 weeks I think you can change the stud and start having oral sex again! Anyway - it was pretty painless. At least compared to the nipple pierce! OWWWWW! That one I took out, btw!
  22. Neither you or Crown can get in! Ha! Now Crank and I on the other hand...
  23. Don't cry - but I will be unable to attend! Have an artery clogging burger for me!
  24. Um, can I see your phattyphoto please? Welcome to the board!
