This is a tough one! I've been to clubs where I expected the DJ to be bad and wasn't disappointed (Heaven, Platinum, Georgetown). But most of the big names I've gone to see have been good, if not mind-blowing! Both times I saw Deep dish, I was disappointed - but I don't necessarily think it was because they sucked - since so many other people liked the show. I guess they are just not my style!

Seriosly! I still suspect he's getting a little money on the side from those cider people. "You know - it's got 7% alcohol!"

OMG! Saturday night was INCREDIBLE! I think I danced the entire 4 hours he was on, minus a couple bathroom breaks! It was so good to meet all of you! Vixen - you were tearing it up in the cage! Vicman - A1Wave and I can't thank you enough for the after hours snuggle fest. I only have one complaint - what was up with the Guest List line? We got there around 11 and it wasn't moving at all, so we got in the other line and were inside in about 10 minutes. But I don't even care, because once inside I GOT HUGS FROM D:FUSE AND HIS WIFE!!!! *swoon*

Honestly? Buster and Whalen at 5 on Saturdays used to tear it up! Those were some of my best nights! D:Fuse at Glow was incredible and I really enjoyed Carl Cox and Danny Howells at Buzz. But, every time I've seen deep dish I've been disappointed! What up with that?

Some of the comments in the "hook-up" post have been weighing on my mind. You see, I've been known to wear some pretty crazy and sometimes hoochified outfits to the club. But, for me, it's not about picking up men, or women for that matter - but about creating a vibe and getting to play dress up. It all adds to my experience! It's like, I can leave the academic, professional, Criminologist persona at home when I put on one of my club outfits and it's the impulsive, carefree, Party Girl you get to see at the club. But, perhaps I'm sending out the wrong message? Shoot - I have been groped twice at Buzz! Once by a guy and once by the nastiest girl on the face of the Earth!

For me it IS the partyl Don't get me wrong, I love the music - but going to a club, seeing a DJ live, being f*cked up with my friends and bouncing the entire night, and yes, even hooking up with a cutie occasionally are all part of what I LOVE about this scene! The whole experience is completely cathartic and it nourishes my soul. However, I still think going to any sort of venue purely to hook up is sort of pathetic. There's a bit of dishonesty to it. Does that make sense? Let me use another example. I think people who do volunteer work purely to meet people are just as pathetic. Now, if you want to meet people and you also happen to be passionate about feeding the homeless, then serving in a soup kitchen is a good way to do both things. But don't go there if you really don't give a crap about the cause, you know? That, to me, seems dishonest. But, in the end, it really doesn't matter. As long I'm with my friends, the DJ is spinning mad tracks, and the Guidos and hoochies keep their hands off me - I'm happy!

Well said RaverMania! Of course, I would NEVER hook up in a club! Well, okay, maybe once or twice!

I was discussing this with a friend last night. Me, personally, I hate meat market scenes - but I realize that even at a decent club, many of the people are looking to hook up. And as my friend said "It's human nature." What do you guys think?
