I guess my point was that the focus should be on the illegal trade of drugs and NOT on ecstacy as a drug that causes violence. It just irks me to see news report stories with a certain slant because it will sell better!

As a criminologist, I'm horrified at the ignorance portrayed in this article. Do you know how many violent crimes were attributed to ecstacy sales or use in 1999 in WA DC, one of the most violent cities in the US? Guess? Zero. That's right. Absolutely none. In fact, the ONLY crimes linked to ecstacy were those for selling or using. No burglaries, no robberies - nothing. Once again, our media is trying to make a story out of nothing. Frankly, I find it embarrassing.

Saturday night was incredible! It was fun to see the Club Planet Board representing!

Max Graham will be at 5 on Saturday??? WOO HOO!!! A1Wave and I saw him down at the Winter Music conference - he was awesome! I can't wait!

I saw him spin at Five and I wasn't impressed. He was much better when I saw him at Nation a few months ago. The early DJ, Buster, rocked my world, though! I guess I'm a trance girl at heart! Raver_Mania and Millele, it was good to see you!

Vinyl was a v.cool scene. Everybody was there to dance and have a good time, there were no attitudes and the music was slamming! I would definitely go again!

I think I'm going to meet Ravermania and Millele out at Five! I haven't been on a Friday in months - anyone know how it is?

I loved it! The Tenaglia/Digweed spin off was incredible! The people in NYC were some of the friendliest I've ever met! The club was amazing! No complaints here! Plus - I got to meet some people from the DC and NY Clubplanet board!

A1Wave and I are going up this weekend. We're going to go Friday because PVD will be spinning. I can't wait!!!!

Well, I had high expectations for NYC - but I really didn't see all that much of a difference. At Twilo, there were good and bad dancers and the Tunnel reminded me a lot of Nation. I would guess that a lot of people from DC get up to NYC - so maybe the differences aren't as pronounced? As long as people don't stand on the dance floor, it's all good to me!

You're absolutely right. It's a different scene. I guess I assumed that most of us here are a little more hardcore - which isn't necessarily true. For someone who is up for hearing some pretty good, popular dance music - 5 on Thursdays is great. That's what I usually go up to Heaven in Adam's Morgan for - and it's the same thing. Laid back, a little more of a college crowd, etc. Now, if you're heavy into the club scene and want to hear cutting edge trance, house, etc. - 5 on Thursdays isn't your place! It's all about having choices, right? I hope I didn't offend - I just gave my honest opinion!

D'oh! I'm such an idiot! I was talking about 5! I think Z104 is at Platinum on Friday's, actually. And I heard they've got a new DJ on Saturday's that is pretty good. I'm thinking of heading there myself Saturday night! Keep me posted! Ruth

It depends a lot on what I'm in the mood for. For a low-key, cheap night with a decent DJ, I go to Heaven in Adam's Morgan. It's a little cheesy, but the people are always very nice and you can dress as casual as you like. It's $5 to get in and drinks are cheap and strong! For some of the best music in the world I go to Nation. It's a younger crowd, but a great chance to see what is on the cutting edge of music and dance styles, IMHO. My favorite is 5 on Saturdays - the music has been incredible the last few weekends, with Scott Henry playing the early set. It's $15 to get in, but I have a connection at the door and usually get in for free. It's also a little more upscale and the drinks are more expensive, but I really like the crowd. There aren't that many good dancer - but you can tell lots of people are there for the music and not just to hook up!

I'm with Sosultan on this one. The music was okay - a little commercial for my taste. But, the crowd def. didn't do it for me. I've heard Platinum has a pretty good crowd on Thursdays - but I've never been!

Vixenfoxxy - Z104 is not at 5 Fridays or Saturdays. It might be Thursdays, because the music is a little cheesy that night! IMHO, Saturday night is the best night. Friday is all really hard house - which is cool if that's what you like. I find that the DJs don't do enough build ups or tempo changes for my liking. That's just my .02! :-)

Saturdays at Platinum are awesome! Scott Henry has been playing the early set - he's usually at Buzz on Fridays. I don't know about the <A HREF="http://www.clubplanet.com/guestlists/" TARGET="_blank"> guest list</A> - except that it is pretty hard to get on. Let me know if you find out anything! I know VIP is pretty expensive - we used to get tables all the time, but the management kept screwing us! Just don't go on Thursdays if you're not down for more commercial Britney Spears set to techno type music!

I heard some amazing DJs and partied my a$$ off! Some of my favorites were: Timo Maas, Max Graham, a DJ called Slacker (anybody heard of him?) and of course Oakenfold! I loved the fact that there seemed to be a heavy break beat influence and we got to hear some pretty innovative sets. The Ultra Fest was interesting. It was definitely cool to hear such a wide range of electronica, but I must admit the crowd was a little young for me. I mean, we're talking under 18! Plus, I'm just not down with using honey buckets and there was no tp! EWWWWW! Eggmok - you might have noticed A1Wave and I missed our 6:45am flight. We were at Shadow Lounge for Oakenfold and didn't quite make it to the airport! *lol*

I can't believe I didn't make it out Saturday night! I wanted to go, but I partied my ASS off on Friday and was in no condition to even move Saturday! Was it fun????

I'm with Trae - anything that makes me move gets my vote! Trance, house, break beat, drum and bass - it's all good as long as it's done right! I like Oakenfold, Sasha & Digweed, Aphrodite, Huda Hudai, Scott Henry, Carl Cox....
