ok, this is coming from the geek in me, lol. this is what i do to avoid the situation above, and it works, unless the harddrive goes totally fucked. you can make a partition for just the operating system, and say call that one c:\. then just make another partition just for mp3s or movies, whatever. so in case you catch a virus or just have to reformat you can just format the partition that the OS is on and the mp3s are safely stored in your other partition which you can access again when you reformat. and of course, i always back my stuff up on cds anyway, but sometimes that gets tedious.

you can also get a program called nero 5, which can take an mp3 file, split it up, and then burn it right away, without the need for converting it into a wav file first. and if you want a mix without pauses you can have a bunch of mp3 files and just set it to burn without any pauses in between tracks.

yeah, world definitely fucking sucked last night. didn't have a night that bad for a while. the guys at the door were total fucking dicks, can't get in with sneakers on, blah, blah, blah, just being assholes in general. got there at about 2, i think scot was already spinning. spun his usual, one hard ass track after the next, hey im not complaining. however, after he dropped overdrive the vibe totally died and the music from that point on was just bad. somebody said that he only spun for a few hours, maybe that was the point at which he left, i wasn't really looking at the dj booth cause i left shortly afterwards. the club layout itself it terrible, its like being in a bar, the dancefloor is like a pit that you have to walk into, not to mention people constantly walking across the floor nonstop. i never had this problem at other clubs but at this one i felt like dancing in the middle of times square with people walking by all the time. anyway, to make a long story short, shitty night, good music from scot himself, shitty venue, never going back there again. i hope scot gets to spin at a decent club next time so that i can actually enjoy it like its meant to be.

it was my first time at sound factory and i kinda have mixed feelings about it. first off the music was really good, i didn't really know what to expect from tsettos but he turned out a pretty sick night. the overall vibe i would say was the weakest thing about the whole night. the crowd was a mixed bag, since this is my first time i don't know if it is always like this. but you can def tell that some people were there for the music and some people were there just being assholes. seeing three fights in one night is not something that i would pay 25 bucks for. and there were a little too many guys there for my taste. and what was the deal with those dancer guys on the stage, seeing their cocks is not something that i came there for:confused:

not really too sure about how macs work, but try right clicking on the file and "save as", or whatever the mac equivalent might be. and then once it is saved manually open the file with the player. basically try to save the file before you open it.

the 8 1/2s are good. not as good as the double stacked rolls royces. if you can get your hands on two of those babies you will be going strong all night, trust me.

i'd rather be around ravers than the hordes of clones that go to some other clubs (not all clubs by any means). at least there's room for originality and diversity and typically a much more mellow and friendly atmosphere. as for tunnel i just wish that more people would show up and realize that its not over and also for the management to fix the place up. cause essentially its all about the music and the vibe, and tunnel def has that, it's just a shame that people miss out on it.

if you can afford the technics then def get them. but not all people have that kind of money laying around. i am looking for tables myself and will probably end up going with something a little less expensive to get me started. for example the stanton str8-80s are really good tables for the money, as well as the offerings from gemini like the pt2100 or the pt2400s. if you want further advice i would suggest that you check out http://www.futureproducers.com its a great site with lots of good advise. peace.
