  2. I turned one of my bedrooms into a production studio, so I've got the gear to record a demo if you want: a pair of 1200s, dual cd player, 4-channel sampling mixer. The crossfader is a little scratchy, but you could bring your own mixer if you want. And I've got the software to insert track points so the cd isn't just one long track along with mastering software.

email me at dracos@subsurfaceproductions.com if you're interested

    Sweet jeezus, wilson...

For Fridays, I play a mix of techno-industrial and hardhouse for my first set, and then a set of hardstyle, techno/schranz, and Rotterdam-style hardcore for my last set til close...

On Wednesdays, I'll be playing a seductive mix of synth-pop and trance-influenced EBM along with trancey anthems...

Up in Harlem, I get hardcore with hardline, techno, and gabba/hardcore...

  4. I'm on my third 40oz of OE right now, printing business cards for this girl on one puter, and workin on new tunes on another puter. At least I know I can function productively with malt liquor in my gut. ;)

This is my last Friday at Flamingo East, then moving to Shelter next week. Opaline on Wednesdays starting the 29th, and this joint up in Spanish Harlem one Saturday a month.

  6. You mean like the NRG stuff they play at Torture Garden in the UK? I used to play Lab 4 and ASYS at FunHouse last year. Might have to dig some of the stuff back up again. I've been getting into some hardstyle stuff lately like HAZARD, Hardheadz, Hardstyle God, Russenmafia, Hose, etc. that I'm gonna start playing when we move over to Shelter on the 24th, but it's only gonna be for part of my set every week.

i think i can handle that... do you remember the click&drag parties at mother? omfg that was fun as hell.

ya know, i think i'm the only one that couldn't stand that place. whenever someone's talking about how fun mother was, i have to keep myself from rolling my eyes or else listen to a backlash of "omg are you fuckin serious?"

  8. I just wanna play my tunes and get paid. I was booked for a night next month that occurs the night before one of my weekly residencies. The promoters are at war or some shit, so I was told that I can either back out of the one-off, or if I decide to play it, that I won't be playin the other one's weekly anymore. :blank:

I need some new gigs, this scene's startin to piss me off.

The Hidden Shadows party is gonna be Jan 25th at 2234 3rd Ave btwn 121 & 122nd Sts. There's a strict dress code for these parties, but we can play past 4am there. More info at http://hiddenshadowsrod.com

And for a weekly dose of hardcore, check out the third floor of Shelter every Friday starting Jan 24th. I'll be playin some Rotterdam-type stuff towards the end of the nite every week. 18+ and no dress code for this party. More info at http://funhouseparty.com

  10. Well I don't know about your guys' shit, but the darkside of NYC clubbing is actually doing pretty decent right now.

The turnouts we've been getting lately convinced Shelter to let us have the third floor (and possibly top floor when it warms up) for our Friday nite party. Thankfully, we can finally move out of that Flamingo East shithole since we've seriously outgrown that joint and need the extra space. Plus Shelter said we can play whatever we want on their Phazon, unlike Flamingo which banned me from playing certain styles, so I'll be able to spin some hardcore/gabba every week after 3am.

And Opaline asked us to come do a weekly Wed nite party at their space which should be pretty fun. I just hope they don't recognize me since I puked in their DJ booth one time when I did a guest spot there.

And our once-a-month Sat nite Harlem parties have been bringing in some good numbers lately. These parties are actually my favorite to play for since I get to drop some of the hardest shit you've ever heard for the freakiest people you've ever seen til the sun comes up.

I know these parties aren't on scale with your guys' big clubs, but getting to play the music we want alongside the performances we want for 500+ people on a regular basis is cool with me. Besides, we're the underground and we like it that way.

Don't get me wrong, the guy moved some pretty impressive weight, but definately not crazy amounts of weight. He was only (haha only) using 405 for bench and 3 plates for shoulder presses on the smith machine. Even in articles he writes in FLEX he doesn't advocate egomaniacal poundages, he stresses the use of good form over immense weight.

    Just a thought.

Definitely, don't use too much weight if you have to cheat the rep. Good form should be a given. But don't rule out joint straps and a belt if it'll help you support more poundage while maintaining strict form. Just don't use too much weight if you have to cheat your sixth rep... unless you've got a partner working with you and you're doing drop sets.

  12. I log onto this board when I'm bored or have time to kill. I don't see how anyone could possibly take the shit on here seriously unless it's clubbing info.

But when I do log on here, and I see you've filled up the forum with useless banter, it does tend to annoy me. Nothing to do, though, except check out a different forum or site. Do what makes you happy. ;)

  13. I first started learning how to spin on a cheap pair of direct drive Geminis before I finally upgraded to my 1200s a few years later. They were decent for learning on, but if you get serious about spinning, you'll eventually want something better.
