Also you have Avalon, Centro, and dont forget DT for afterhours. Quite a scene we have here. I'll be in Miami Dec 26th-Dec 30th...any events i should look for down there?

matt, i always wondered why i didnt see a topic about this on here, and i was too embarassed to put one up about it, But broooooooo I got flyers for daysssssssss I keep a scrapbook of all the events i've done but i also have all the events i've attended that were memorable some ones i can think of offhand Vicious @ Tunnel (absolute vicious) (and also when he returned to exit and they re-did that flyer) The opening of Exit 2 (when it reopened in Oct 2001) and it was a full size american flag fold out flyer with Vicious & Draper on it Flyers from tempts closing parties & classics parties for the last 4 years... wow...memories...

actually brian it wouldnt be illegal per se-- Many laws are made to justify ends thru means, so if they made a direct corrolation btw trouble n hip hop clubs, they could have very easily passed this law. But, most likely the law doesnt exist. Rather, I bet the town basically has 'made it known' so to speak that clubs that play hip hop will get shut down. Its been my experience that having the town/city on your side is a good thing, so usually club owners will do their best to abide by the town's wishes. otherwise you have cops and fire marshalls busting balls about every little details, every person over capacity, issuing jay walking tickets, ect ect to the point where the clubs die out cuz the people stop coming. Its all politics and bullshit.

it sucks that Mike Mac & Peter are booked the same night everyone is at roxy-- that would be a great occasion for me to trek out to LI But as far as things look now b/c the snow cancelled a few of my study sessions and i got final next week i am now behnd, so roxy friday or Nation friday both dont look too good

ive said this about roxy since the sexy party was going on, "i'd rather party with the drinking crowd till 4-5am then party with the drug crowd till 10, 11 or whenever their high comes down" just my opinion....

good point bernie... also, remember something here from Marvesi's standpoint-- Its not secret that he wants JP to become a resident at exit. he'd be crazy not to. But this party is a one time event and is no indicator that JP will ever spin exit again. So think about this: Jonathan obviously cares about his crowd, he's the one who promised on the mic at Sahara that prices for NYE would be very low b/c he felt 75 for TGE was ridiculous. He definitely reads the feedback on his messageboard and others and if his people get treated like shit on NYE, he's gonna know about it. I'd expect staff to be at a minimum as far as exit personell and let the Deeper staff run the party the way it should be run (as Bob has alluded to) BUT--dont expect marvesi to relax the security checkpoints for drugs. NYC still wants to shut him down so searches for contraband obviously have to be tight. Are typical exit full cavity searches while the staff curses at you and calls you a crackhead necessary, NO. But do expect to be searched as u would anywhere else. I'd definitely like to head down there in the afternoon the next day. Bob imma give u a ring today... Mike

yea he's having his own sound guy check things out... one thing to remember about exit (and this isnt an excuse for the shit sound system) BUT The acoustics in that place suck, horribly. But im sure with about a month to go, they will find a way to make the place sound good. My question is, if this is a guaranteed minimum 30 hour event, can i still come down on new years day around 6pm and walk in for 40 bucks? cuz i would def do that so long as i dont drink myself into oblivion the nite before... Plus this is a moot point now as my good friend Bobby Goodrich got JP to spin at Exit on NYE now. (along with some help bobby had) Lemme get this straight--you hate the DJ's who are working. You mock the promoters who put them in these spots. WHERE ARE YOU WORKING? you're just another internet tough guy with no balls. I really have made an effort to leave ur posts alone when you mock other dj's and stuff, but when u talk about my boy Binoy and the other promoters who are hard workers and the BEST at what they do, then u stepped over the line, dickhead. Now go ahead and make fun of me all u want cuz i know its coming. Talk about where i spin and what i play. But it wont change anything.
