coming from detroit, i got to see bad boy bill in the mid 90's before he started playing in nyc, i dont think he was spinning in NYC before say the mid 90's or so. He used to spin much more hip hop, and Hard House (which i always just called "house", before i moved to NYC and heard what they call "house" out here), he spins neither anymore and is now almost all chicago and tech house. He went through a short period in the late 90's where he spun booty house, but if you are looking for "old-school" bad boy bill, he in no way resembles the dj he was in the mid to late 90's. But if you expect that Robbie Rivera filtered crap type sound tonight, you will be dissapointed, his much has gotten much more intelligent over the last year and a half. My favorite set ever by him was BUZZ in DC 2001, however, i had a great time when he spun at hammerstien(fav NYC show with him, think it was with DJ dan, i def remember Christopher Lawrence there, think it was a SOE party in 2000?), sound factory, the tunnel and Centro. I have been lucky enough to get to know him over the past few years, and he is one of the most musically gifted people in the industry, check out some of his IHR or mix connection releases by various artist for more proof. SEE YOU ALL TONIGHT!
