Tastey, you're such a stud. Do me now.
Back on topic... You're gonna have a hard time finding a guy who will openly say "yes" to this question...

True... people think it's cool to be "in the know," when really they're just repeating some rumor they heard from their father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate...
Hell, wasn't there a huge uproar on the boards about Arc getting a liquor license? I mean, they did apply, but people were acting like it was already in the bag... look what came of that!
Plus, on a board where people make up new screen names every time they wake up on the wrong side of the bed, EVERYTHING should be taken with a HUGE grain of salt!!!

I see what your saying, but whats the difference between the Oklahoma City bombing and 9/11, 9/11 could be considered to be like Pearl Harbor was back then. Plus this is the first time the U.S. did declare war on something other then a country, but the first time the U.S. has declared war on Foriegn and Domestic Terrorism.
You grammar is a little shaky here, so forgive me if I misundertand your point...
9/11 is no more like Pearl Harbor than Oklahoma City was, or for that matter the FIRST World Trade Center bombing. All were overt acts of violence by terrorist groups. The only difference is the number of lives lost.
And this is NOT the first time the U.S. has declared war on something other than a country. We have a "War on Drugs," remember? Should we commemorate that with a national holiday, too?

NEW YORK, New York (CNN) -- Terrorists have struck again, hijacking one of Clubplanet's most meaningful threads this afternoon, our news source reported Wednesday afternoon.
This hijacking comes on the heels of a number of disturbing postwhore incidents that fragmented the Clubplanet community and prompted fears of future attacks.
Those fears have "now become a reality," spokesperson DaVe said in a press conference late Wednesday.
DaVe spoke in a firm tone, stating that he took the hijacking very seriously.
"We will track down the hijackers and get them wherever they hide," he added.
President Bush was not available for comment.

...my concern is with its growth but in terms of profiling...many that i talk to feel profiling overrules safety and security...that in its own frightens me...esp. since part of me sees the truth in it...
I mean racism in everyday life.
I'll put it this way... I'd never heard the term "sand nigger" actually USED before 9/11... Americans have never been terribly fond of people from the Middle East, but 9/11 made it much worse.
Plus, we currently have a "war" of sorts going on, and who's to say that will be over by next 9/11? I'd hate to see 9/11 used as an excuse to rally hatred against Middle Easterners.

I think it's a valid concern. There's been a LOT of racism in the wake of 9/11.

Speaking about holes...I was at Jones Beach when I was like 8-9 with my aunt & cousins...some kid sat in the sand and dug a hole the entire afternoon...it turns out when he was done he realized it wasn't a good idea being 4 ft. tall digging about a 6ft. hole b/c he got stuck in it & all the lifeguards ran over to get him out
Remember the Darwin awards thread recently? Some guy actually died like that!

I'm also concerned, if relations were to improve between the U.S. and the Middle East, what kind of emotions a 9/11 holiday might revive every year...
