Not sure if I got the money for it this year. I've been down there for the past 3 years. Always had a great time, BUT here is a warning, DON'T pay to be in the conference unless you are an artist looking to promo your own music! I went in last year thinking it would be good for DJs. IT SUCKED. They don't really do a damn thing for DJs. Every lecture was the same borring people saying the same shit about how to promo your track. Really, it was not worth all the $$$ I paid for the ticket in. Yeah I got some free vinal and CDs, but 90% of them suck. John Digweed does not walk around handing out his new track, but "BOB, I just got a computer" does. The clubs and the outdoor parties are why you go. AND THEY ARE SLAMMIN! hey, sorry i just read your replys now, Yeah I totally agree it is the CP love that makes it all good in a seen like that. As long as you have a good crew to hang with, all the ugly shit doesn't matter. And yeah I'm sure that girl I was talking about was not from CP. I'm glad I'm finally meeting up with the right kind of people in the seen, which is all of you. I'll try to keep my eyes open for the next meet up. I'm not on line as much as i use to be. Graphic Designer/Art director mostly consumer magazines. and a DJ that doesn't pay shit. Money is real hard at a time like this so I pick and choose my parties very carfully. You'll hear a lot of people (and me) asking about free parties. but i do love what i do, it's fun.

hey clubkat, you'll like this... I went to the burning man fest out in the desert, 2000 and out there you can not use money, you have to barder for want ever you want. Give something to get something. So chapstick is a major currency. By day 5 you can get a nice meal for just one stick. really it's very cool. later-pk

Hey idrthrbclbng, thanks so much for coming down. i had a blast and learned a lot for my next gig (ie. what records work, what don't, etc.) It's a tough place, cause it's more bar then club. I'll be spinning some deep house/ hard house. I hate to use lables cause I know everybody is so sensitive about what lable you call what music. but i got some Digweed style records a lot of bedrock, some underworld, paul van dyke, kevin fisher, etc... I'll play early about 11:30ish to like 1ish. DJ powder spins similar stuff (he is really good) DJ corbin spins a lot of breaks and big beat (fatboy slim stuff, kinda) anyway if you come down, say hi. you can't miss me, i'm short with glasses and a METS hat on. later -pk
