  1. This is yet another reason why shutting down Twilo was a HUGE mistake. No one EVER complained when it was open about these types of issues. People, it's all about money when you get to the these levels as a DJ. Can you imagine, first you get a residency at SF or Vinyl as a local, and before you know it, $20K per night? That is serious cheese. So, I'm off to Ibiza to hear some serious music in a perfect setting. Sun, warm air, sexy women, smiles...worth $25 to get in. Now, going to Exit w/ the crowd to see someone spin for 4 hours @ $40??? No way, I'll mix my own.
  2. It is now a Pier One Imports. I drove by it last weekend. I had MANY good times when it was LIFE. wow...memories.
  3. I read a post about some guy who isn't sure what to do, as his girlfriend cheated on him w/ his best friend. That sucks, but life goes on. So, being in a pissed off mood today, I am sharing what $60,000 worth of University taught me (my last post): You want some REAL advice bro? That was no mistake, and your so called friend is a punk, but NOT worth your time. I say this girl deserves a RODEO. Here is how it goes: Invite her over, tell her you want to make up with her. Have 10-12 guys wait outside your room. Start to nail her (reminding her how well you bang her), doggy style. Then, yell RODEO at the top of your lungs. As your friends enter the room cheering and clapping, see how long you can hold on to her as the whore runs for the door. See if you can break 30 seconds!

  5. Ocean Drive is great. It's located at Marina Botafoch, down the street from Pacha and El Divino. Very close to everything (rent a scooter down the road or a small car, you will need it). The hotel can get you on a guest list (reduced cover) for all clubs. My best advices are: 1. Spend the days at Ses Salinas (Sa Trincha). This beach, on the south end, is by far the best. When you get to the beach, go left past the Jockey Club, past all the nude people, to the very end. They have a great DJ spinning very cool music to shake your head to while you sip cocktails by the beach (not house/trance, but very cool tunes....) Great people, great vibes. 2) Sunday at Space. Not to be missed. 22 hours, then go to DC 10. 3). Go to Dome Bar around 1AM before the clubs to check out the parades. Have Fun....
  6. BTW, check out www.ibiza-spotlight.com. The best site, has a clubbing calendar, great descriptions, etc. If you are planning on going this summer, you better hurry. Iberia Air is at 95% capacity (as always), and unless you plan on taking a 6 hour ferry, and sleeping on the beach, you should make some calls. Good luck.
  7. I've gone for the past 5 years. I've stayed at www.oceandrive.de, but this year I'm staying at Hacineda Xa. I'll be over August 6-13 on my honeymoon w/ a bunch of friends. Sasha at Space, Cox, Oakenfold. Not sure what your budget is, but for moderate prices go to Playa den Bossa, across from Space. Stay away from San Antonio unless you like drunk british guys fighting and puking. Stay either close to Ibiza Town or the south beaches (Ses Salinas). Have fun!
  8. X - Thanks. I think the concept is good, but it requires the right type of execution. I run a public company now (NASDAQ:STTN), and I've got the right team to carry out the Business Plan as well as the financing and corporate relations (equipment, vinyl sales, etc). I appreciate the feedback to all that are posting!! Keep up the great work, as we will all have a new place to spin very soon.
  9. You are correct. Vestax PDX-2000. Hey, I am far from a pro, but you know what's great? When ALL my friends who have 1200's first use my decks...they all have this grin. The decks are really smooth, they hold the beat, and they do have a tempo and pitch control.
  10. Room Rental: $10-20 per hour (depending on equipment in each room) Main Room - $25 Per hour (fits 30 people) Broadcasting via DSL - $30 per hour Mix CD recording - $15 per hour Sound Room - $30 per hour ($50 with engineer) Additional Info: Will be sponsored by main brand (Pioneer? Vestax? Rane?) Equipment sales Food/beverage on site DJ workshops Seminars CD Duplication for DJ's I will keep you all updated.
  11. Ok, I've read many posts about people that live in apartments that are frustrated because they can't turn up the volume. Learning and practicing to spin using headphones is a drag. I know, I live in an apartment. I want sooooo bad to have 2 Killer monitors and one huge ass subwoofer, so I can FEEL the music, not just HEAR it. I live in Roslyn, LI and I go to Satellite Records every weekend to pick up new vinyl. And, I get home, and I'm pissed because I can't crank up my speakers. MY SOLUTION: I am very close to leasing space, and creating 10 rooms - all soundproofed, that hold Turntables, mixers, CD players, speakers, subs and room for 15-20 people each. Open 24 hours, you can rent the room by the hour (just like a recording studio). I'll stock the latest Vinyl and CD, with listening stations. Perhaps even a "chill out room" to hang with new friends. I have the money to do this, I think I found the space...would you use this facility?
  12. quoth - I may not be the best person to ask, as I just started mixing a few months ago. What I can say is that I love the mixer. I almost went with the Pioneer, but my guy said if I can swing the extra bucks, it is a superior product. It is heavy, well built, etc. It sounds awesome, has tons of inputs/outputs, etc. I don't like the fact the it has ZERO RCA outputs, I had to get an XLR to RCA adapter, so I can run RCA to Miniplug for my computer. I know lots of trance/techno dj's like it. Hope this helped. Would I recommend it? Hell yeah.
  13. I paid: 2 Vestax 2000's - $419 each EFX500 - $379 PMC55 - $1,099 Ibiza - 4 summers in a row: $3,500 All of Sasha's album's - $200 Lost pay at work after Ibiza to recover: $5,000
  14. So am I! August 1. Then going to IBIZA for 8 days w/ my group of friends (I'll be a Space for Sasha's BDAY Bash), then off to Italy. I just like to know what my friends look like! Is she hot? LOL.
  15. Intro - Follow Me (Jonathan Peters Mix) - Ally -Us Build Up - Holding on to You - Forbidden Planet - Midnight Blue Check out the samples at www.satelliterecords.com. What is you ultimate intro tune?? What build up set's YOU off?
  16. Shaned... How do you like the 3000? I was thinking about the Denon 9000. Any comments? BTW, what is Axxessproductions?
  17. BTW, I went to your profile to check you homepage, and the link is broken. I was hoping to see what you look like!
  18. "....so in love with you....love with you.....love with you..." Now, that wasn't so hard now was it??? Ha... Thanks girl!
  19. Hey girl! Still having problems (so embarrased) 1. do I need to host the pic on my webserver, or just "attach"it to my posts? 2. look at my post, you will see the IMG's. What am I doing wrong? Thanks....
  20. How do I put a picture in my posts? I go under Profile, to Signature, but it won't let me copy a picture. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help.......
  21. B- Thank you so much! That is all I need! Check out my setup at http://www.gregandfern.com/thumbnails/webpics/imagepages/image12.htm. What software do you use for recording?
  22. Berniec - Thanks! I've got The RCA to Miniplug from Radio Shack. I need: XLR to RCA Adapter for the mixer output, so the RCA to Miniplug cables have a link. Right?
  23. Thanks. I've got an internal, but my mixer (Vestax 55 - phat!) does NOT have RCA outputs for a RCA-Miniplug adapter. So, I thought if I could p/u a cheap CD-RW, that would work. I guess I'll get RCA/quarter inch adapters and go right to the miniplug input.
  24. Cool...I'll check this out. What do you like most about it? Any opinion on the Pioneer? Thanks bro!
