I agree - reinstall your operating system. A good utlity for you to get is partition magic also, just a rule of thumb, if you dont really know what you are doing dont mess around in your systems registry.

I suggest going to buy a Linksys EtherFast® Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch. Its real cheap and easy to configure. It supports Win98se & Win95 operating systems.
