  1. Cheers Toby! Thanks for the promo you gave me too. And congrats on tying the knot!
  2. Toby has been bringing it proper both times he has stopped through ATL. How is garage thriving in Miami?
  3. Oh yeah...the name of the strip club is The Cheetah. Only go if you have big bucks to spend though. For quality without coming out of the pockets so much go to The Pink Pony. For laughs and cheap beer go to Clermont Lounge on Ponce.
  4. Cheers! I'm a resident of Atlanta who still posts on the Clubplanet board for some reason even though WMC ended about 5 months ago... I guess the question I should ask you is what kind of music you're into, and what days are you going to be up here? Eleven50 is the club that I spend most of my time in because they keep consistently bringing good house deejays on a regular basis. This weekend is DJ HEATHER (31st). Drop me an email at cass@LunarMagazine.com for more info on stuff to do. And you can check the sites below as well.
  5. thats sooo funny! dre from outkast apparently has a thing for digweed. i saw him twice.
  6. I get to see Layo and Bushwacka! tomorrow fo free!!!!! Wheeeeeee!!!! did I mention that its for FREEEEEEE!!!
  7. me couldn't get it to work!
  8. I saw Mr. Morales a few months ago. The club that he was booked is mainly for the gay crownd. I think that the promoters intended it to be that way. But anyway, his set was a bit too proggy for my tastes. But what can you expect if you're a dj and you look out to mainly seeing bois and queens rocking out. The reason I think he spun a more progressive house set because looking out at a predominantly white gay crowd you'd think thats what they want. There were less than 100 people in attendance too. Only until the last 45 minutes did he start bringing the funky house tunes. If his crowd was more diverse I think that he would have played a more funkier set. The person who did get all my attention for the night was Miss Honey Dijon. She opened for Morales and was killing me!! She was relentless. Too bad no one except for me and my few friends realized the madness she was bringing to the table.
  9. R. Kelly has a history of being with underaged girls. Have we forgotten about Aaliyah already?? He married her when she was only 15!! If he IS guilty of doing that, he's gonna get whats coming to him in prison. And he will be wearing an 'orange' suit.
  10. Oi! I'm so jealous! Someone needs to bring Joeski AND Onionz quicklike to the ATL.
  11. When you get a self-satisfying cd maybe you can send one or two by way of Atlanta so I can put em' in good hands, eh? Aim: XxXxGogglesXxXx
  12. This time Mark was actually....just okay. He went flat a couple of times, not hardly any vocals at all. I was hoping for more funkier tunes though. It was nonetheless still a good night. And Mark was still good. The club was packed!! Here we have a cyberdork crew much like the CPMafia and it was good to see some people who came out just for Mark. And I danced my ass off regardless... Between the two nights, I enjoyed LazyDog more. The atmosphere was just cool as hell. As far as Vadim...he fucking cancelled on me From what I heard he arrived at the club earlier that day, saw what little promotion was done, and decided he didn't want to do the show. The next night he was in Athens,GA which is about 45 min. away. I couldn't make it down because I don't have a car. But I heard that only 30-40 people came out for it. So that was his loss because more people would have came out for him in Atlanta than Athens (its actually a college town). Due to having no car I also missed Miguel Migs and Lisa Shaw last week, Mark Grant, Nicolas Conte, and Ursula as well. If only the cost of cabs in ATL were as cheap as they are in MIA. The way things are going in Atlanta is really good. Especially house, downtempo, IDM music. I'm not a particular fan of progressive trance/house so I won't be at any of those shows unless its for purely comical reasons and I get in free. There's alot of shows to look forward to this summer. I heard a little rumor that someone big from Ninja Tune is expected to come through in June/July. In Sept. someone from Thievery Corporation will be in as well. We're getting spoiled...and I'm enjoying every minute of it!
  13. I told you that you guys would be in for a treat!
  14. You guys are in for a SEXY treat!!!! When I first arrived at club eleven50 (mind you I'm from the ATL) I didn't think the club would be so packed seeing as how Mark Farina is playing here tonight at the same place. The vibe was fucking ON. Everyone was grooving. Ben Watt seemed to be behind the production and Jay Hannan was laying down the sexy tunes. They mostly tagged team throughout the night as usual. I'm not a vinyl whore, so I can't call many tracks. There were definitely alot that I KNOW, but I don't know the names. I did hear: Angie Stone-Wish I Didn't Miss You (Poundboys rmx) Erro-Don't Change For Me Like I said...I don't hunt down tracks so I can't give names. Unfortunately, the clubs here have to close at 4am on weekdays. But they kept laying it down up until the very last record. And even the one track they threw out after everyone was begging "ONE MORE!!!" was banging! You guys are in for a very sexy night with LAZY DOG!!
  15. Actually the Simpson's has been slacking the past 2 years or so. I'll always have a soft spot for it in my heart, but if Marge keeps spoutin off those wack lines ("Marge is in da house") then it HAS to come to an end. I"m enjoying the double reruns that show everyday moreso than the Sunday episodes. Just facing reality.
  16. check out this site. http://www.umix.net
  17. I'll be seeing Lazy Dawg tomorrow!!! Woohoo! I'll give you guys a review.
  18. That was really some sick shit. If you missed it, it's coming on again tonight. Basically: Dad and Mom divorce. Dad discovers alcohol Dad discovers pot. Dad's 18 year old son takes him to a rave and gives him pills. Dad digs house music over trance and jungle. Dad finds himself a hot black ravagrrlie to indulge in his life long fantasy. Dad let's his kids roll at his son's house party. Wife gets custody of the 13 and 15 year olds. 15 year old daughter writes a letter to her oldest brother in the military telling him about her "first" experience. Mom intercepts the lettter. Mom presses charges against Dad. Dad goes to the emergency hearing with pot and pills on him. Dad gets arrested. 18 year old son's friend bails him out of jail. The rest of the story is about getting custody of his kids. But in order to do that he must give up drugs.
  19. i dunno what the hell is wrong with it!!! here's the article:: Full Cover Story- Electronic Music and Club Scene Jolted by News That House Music May Indeed Cause Sterility in Both Genders. A one Dr. von Nostrum (pictured at left) of the University of Chicago has discovered an eerie link between House music and sterility in both men and women. House music is a combined mix of straight groove basslines and almost nauseating repetitive loops. These horrific melodies have not been viewed as particularly harmful until recently when von Nostrum and his team discovered that long-term exposure to House music may very well inhibit normal reproductive and hormonal activity. In Females: The recurring beats and shrieking loops cause the brain to produce a lack of luteinizing hormone (lh) which means that the follicle holding the egg, or oocyte, to the endometrial lining may never actually release the egg. The egg eventually breaks apart into the corpus lutetium and passes through the rest of the menstrual cycle. If by chance the egg does actually become fertilized, von Nostrum believes that the egg will eventually just die off due to boredom. This dying off process is called Farina syndrome. In Males: The lack of creativity along with the uninspiring melodies in the music ascribe to a deficient amount of rhythm inside the tail of the sperm. Without this ability to rhythmically move its flagellum back and forth the sperm remain still at the mouth of the cervix and look dumb as if they are lost or drunk. Try as they might, experts say that the mis-directed sperm cells will never actually reach their destination. After depleting the protein reserves stored inside the seminal fluid the sperm will eventually die. Dr. von Nostrum says that this may not be such a bad thing. Does the world not have enough people that dance poorly and go out to clubs solely for the purpose of lucid procreation. Eventually all of the loyal house listeners will become extinct and that will part the dance floors for people with talent and an actual love for music. Critics such as The Coalition For The Advancement of House Music have responded to Dr. von Nostrum's theories with ill hearted negativity. Others have formed a sort of following behind him in support of the death of all House genres.
  20. http://www.newenglandjournalofmedicine.bravepages.com/ I don't want no damn kids anyway!! "This dying off process is called Farina syndrome." :::runs to go crank up Mark Farina's "Connected" and put her belly on the speaker to kill off her egg:::
