  1. Deepsky 9/7 Ferry Corsten 9/21 Seb Fontaine 9/28 Big names, but are any of them worth seeing?
  2. Sounds like a workable spot, I'll be there about 11:30-11:45... Hmmm, picking cloths now just takes all the spontaneity and fun out of getting ready to go out! But, alas... I'll be the white boy wearing some light grey pants with a black tank top or charcoal tee shirt looking lost while trying to find you. What nationality? Not all Asians look the same... So it seems like there are only three active LA clubbers on this board? Need to recruit or something.
  3. "hell be in mexico", was that a freudian slip? For years I've been saying that Mexico really *is* like hell!
  4. I think your mate may have some issues But besides that, you'll be in Mexico! Just bring extra cash to pay off the police and your friend shouldn't have any problems
  5. Rich *and* underage? Sheesh! Where do I sign up! (Since I'm new here it may be necessary to say I'm kidding )
  6. Well look at that... The timestamps default to GMT... And I thought you all just kept really odd hours.
  7. But at the same time you don't want to "wallow in your own self pity". That's a trap I know I fall into at times while trying to identify with my sadness... Like Mr. Miyagi said in the Karate Kid, "balance is the key" (Okay, I've gone to far... I'm quoting Mr. Miyagi)
  8. Sure, I'll be there around 11:00 so whatever you guys decide works for me. Might need to narrow things down a bit more then "the balcony" since I have no clue what anyone from the board looks like
  9. aha! Now I know why I woke up so early! (Yes, anytime before 10:00am is early)
  10. Been to The Mayan with everything from New Balances to combat boots & jeans to camouflage Kixwares... I've been in some type of tee-shirt every time, and usually have my shirt off on the dance floor - never had a problem. A majority of people are fitted in smart-casual wear, but from what I've seen there are plenty of people in club gear as well. Though AvB does put himself together well, so maybe there is a special dress code for him :rainbow:
  11. Oh ya? Well my dad can beat up your dad!
  12. On Saturday's your best bet is Spundae... www.spundae.com It's LA, so things are spread out. We don't really have a collection of cool places within walking distance like, say, South Beach...
  13. I recommend burning the cloths and buying new... <RAMBLEMODE>Hmm, actually that's a sneaky new approach for clothing manufacturers, they should start making stain *retaining* clothing... That's it! That's how I'll make my millions to travel around the world partying just before checking myself into The Betty Ford Clinic.</RAMBLEMODE>
  14. Oh, and of course I already have tickets for AvB... People who weren't aware he was coming to town were way stoked upon seeing the flyers, so hopefully it'll be a good vibe... *crosses fingers*
  15. The Mayan, let's see... The bathrooms are too small, it's gets hot, and it's crowded on the dance floor right in front of the stage. So, in other words, typical club. On the plus side, it feels a bit tropical being that it's done up, well, Mayan style. I've never stood in a line to get in (likely because they bring talent on the weekdays), there are several bars, and the sound system is pretty good. There are a few steps down from the stage adjacent dance floor that usually has room to dance and isn’t as hot, and they also have some stadium seating if you need a real break. There isn’t much for lighting IMO, and they need some of those nifty blasters for cryogenically freezing the dancers, comme Amnesia & Crobar; though that’s just because I think those are fun, more fans or A/C would be sufficient
  16. *NOW* I remember what I don't like about that part of the world! At least with Hollywood's "OH LOOK AT ME... PLEASE...SOMEONE... I'm working at Denny's til my acting career takes off... What kind of car do you drive?" scene I've never met anyone named Vinnie.
  17. Okay, so against my better judgment I went to see a show on a work night... Let's just say that I could have easily left when Zabiela's set was over. That boy was fscking *SICK*... In general I get really bored with slower music, but just before I’d think "okay, this is getting old" he'd read my mind and throw down a slamming beat, some breaks, or start scratching and you'd be forced to stop dancing for a second, look at the person standing next to you and say "GOD DAMN!" (Was that a run on sentence?) Hmm, what about Sasha... I have this pet peeve about seeing a "BIG" DJ and witnessing rookie mistakes. Not once, but twice, he bumped the decks. His mixing skills are top-notch, but the programming left a bit to be desired in that he'd drop the energy for too long IMNSHO (thought Sasha is known for being boring). Also, I don't know if he was mixing two different vocal tracks or if it was just part of the song, but at least twice, the vocals sounded really bad, like off key and just plain messy. But, I've found a new DJ and really opened my eyes to a previously unexplored genre in Zabiela...
  18. Roll call... Who all will be attending tonight? I haven't seen Sasha in a few years and figured "hey, let's see what the fuss is all about" (we dropped when I saw him last time, so of course he was good ). Unfortunatly I couldn't talk anyone else into dropping $30 for a Wednesday night so I'll be solo, but hey, it's about the music, right.
  19. So our club scene isn't great, but there's one good thing about Los Angeles... Smelling like smoke after a night of clubing is of little concern since we can't smoke anywhere. Now this may sound like a problem to smokers, but it's nice not having to shave your head and burn your cloths to get rid of the caked on smoke+sweat+beerthedrunkguyspilledonyou smell.
