  1. Hi Matik, Welcome to Miami. The techno scene here in Miami is pretty small, but I feel that it's beginning to grow and take shape. I'm a producer and DJ here in Miami who focuses on techno. I've recorded records for Platform (with Christian Smith - remixed by Adam Beyer), Ovum, and am currently working on an EP for Intec. I've started a night @ Red called Ongaku, which is pretty diverse in its musical delivery, but I tend to focus quite a bit on techno that night. We'd love to have you come out and check it out this Friday night. you can get more info @ www.signalcommunications.net/ongaku.htm. Good to have another techno head in Miami Take care, Stryke

  7. Hey all, Just wanted to personally invite you all to Ongaku (Japanese for music) @ Red, starting this Friday night. The night is sponsored by my label, Substance Recordings. We're not putting a specific genre to the evening. A lot of you already know what to expect from me musically. But, our guests, and even my sets, will display a wide assortment of styles. We're not going to be about one specific style or genre...just good music. This week our guest is Jimmy Toural, whom most of you on this board know. A great DJ, and I'm looking forward to playing with him this Friday. Be prepared for some fun I'll be using 2 f/x processors and Final Scratch. Should you require more information, you can visit us on the web at: www.signalcommunications.net/ongaku.htm or email us at ongaku@substancerecordings.com GUESTLIST FOR ALL CLUBPLANET MEMEBERS>>>just drop us your guestlist via email! Hope to see you all this Friday and every Friday! paz, Stryke
  8. Thanks Oscar! and let it be said that you've got my full support for everything you do. I think a lot of people don't understand what we go through sometimes behind the scenese. If it wasn't for you, Ralph, and MURK, the scene here would more than likely be non existent. And that's a fact. Let's show some respect! I would personally like to thank Oscar for being one of the brightest lights we have in Miami (and the world for that matter) when it comes to music and passion for music! Oscar was a DJ and producer while others were still in diapers, and he is still showing us a thing or 4! Keep up the great work Oscar. peas, Stryke
  9. Great to meet you too, always nice to put a face to the screen name as far as bustin a move, behind the decks is the only place that'll happen. I'm not gifted in the dance department! But I can't seem to help myself behind the decks peas, stryke
  10. but of course! it'd be great to have you there pod and all of you for that matter. thanks for posting this bugaloo! i really want this night to be something special, and i hope you all come out and experience it. time to break some barriers in this town and just appreciate music for music's sake...not because it's progressive or house or techno, but becuase it's good! the genres and styles can get along. it's we as humans who chose to create the barriers and walls. let's break them down together, one track at a time peas and rice, stryke
  11. Georgeacasta2 and Nightstar01. Thank you guys sooo much for coming out on Friday and for your kind words. Ramon and Tony, you guys are always there in full support. You've always got my back and I've got yours! ONGAKU!!!!!!!!! www.signalcommunications.net/ongaku.htm Thank you all for making me feel good about playing @ home again Much love, Stryke
  12. Thanks Joe, I'm looking forward to Friday. The room is smaller, but I hope to bring a good energy to the room. I hope you won't be upset that a good portion of the music I play on Friday will be a bit "harder." I know that a lot of the house heads out there know me for my production on labels like Guidance and Defected/Fluential, and I tend to upset them when I play main floors. But make no mistake, there will be some good house as well Thanks for the support. Much love, Stryke
  13. Thank you all for coming out on Friday night. It was great to see some of the clubplanet peeps there! Thank you so much for the support. I had a great time and it was awesome start to the weekend for me It's great to be playing at home, nothing else in the world like it! for those of you who were there, you got a little last of what's coming up next Friday @ Red with Ongaku! I hope you'll all come out and support it. I'm putting my heart and soul into this night. As are my Substance label partners Matt Mehler and AJ Candelaria. And, I promise Final Scratch will be out that night. My laptop didn't make it to Space on Friday because of some audio compression issues, which have already been fixed. A special thanks to Fat Tony and Ramon C. for always being so supportive and hooking me up with some music at the last minute... (btw, Ramon, The Beyer album is fantastic! I'm going to e-mail him this week.) Again, thank you all Much love, Stryke www.signalcommunications.net/ongaku.htm
  14. Jigsaw Pieces is Timewriter's second album. It was released on Plastic City (Germany) in 1998, then licensed to Twised America a couple of years later. I think it's his best album. His first album (also on Plastic City) is entitled Letters from the Jester. really great album. He's also released 2 ambient/downtempo under the name JFC (his initials...his real name is Jean F. Cochois). JFC - The Timerewinder (Mole Listening Pearls/1998) *recorded in 1994 JFC - Chrome de Lux (Electrolux/2000) He's got a ton of remixes out there, all of which rock! Now go shopping for Timewriter! Stryke
  15. Hey guys, looking forward to seeing you all out tonite @ Space. My timeslot has been changed from 2 to close. It's now 12 midnite to close awww yeah! hope you guys like techno! see you there, stryke
  16. YOOOOOO! Welcome home dood! Great to have you back. Tomorrow nite should be a blast! Good to see you at the studio the other nite! Enjoy the new tunes. Stryke
  17. ok, where the heck did this come from!?!?!? LOL! there's an explination for this! ok, here it is... last may myself and the rest of the substance boys were in the dominican republic, throwing a label party and following me for a couple of tour dates... one day, we went to my friend eddie's house (great promoter down there) and he had this book... DJ Chuck Fresh presents How To Be A DJ. You guys have got to read this book! It was the joke of the trip. Matt, one my my partners, thought it would be funny to take a picure of me reading the book. To add to the "humour" he had me pose, looking totally interested in the book. I'll have to kick some a$$ and find out who leaked this thing! LOL Well, hope to see you guys at Space this Friday and Ongaku @ Red next Friday so you guys can see if I learned anything from this book!!!!
  18. I'd have to say "Cloud Cukoo" is my favourite track on Airdrwandagger. But, I really do dig the entire album. You should be able to get the Cosmos CD @ Grooveman. That's where I got it. Spec's on the beach also has it. The Beltran album is out of print But Peacefrog says they may rerelease it next year. In the meantime, you can check out his 2 new albums... Americano (Exceptional UK) out now I think...with his remix of my song "Lost" from my album Sun Gypsy (Ubiquity US) out on Oct. 22...I sang on this album as well. we did a cover of Sting's "Fragile." but 10 Days of Blue is still my favourite! www.johnbeltran.com for more info...I think the site is still being worked on, but check it out.
  19. "on the net">>> yikes! does anyone actually buy music anymore? tom middleton ain't rich! give the man his royalties! the cd set isn't some big dancefloor thing. very chill, interesting electronic stuff. some electroish, some jazzy, some housey...great to work to, chill to, make love to...all that good stuff. but not full on dancefloor...and that's ok
  20. In the car, my faves right now are: Adam Beyer - Timewarp 3 (techno king does an incredible 3 deck mix cd)! Tom Middleton - Sound of the Cosmos (sweeeet 3CD DJ mixed set of diverse electronic music, by one of the best!) John Beltran - Ten Days of Blue (one of my musical idols, with his best album on Peacefrog from 1997. Some of the most beautiful and emotional electronic music ever created) Underworld - 100 Days Off (The new Underworld album due out this month I think. Genius, even without Darren Emerson) Sasha - Airdrawndagger (a beautiful, chilled electronic album. lots of soul w/ a dash of dancefloor attitude thrown in) Def Leppard - Hysteria (need I say more!?)
  21. doh! i forgot to answer your question james. i am pretty sure i play from 2 to close, or something like that i'll double check. see you there? ok, that's enough internet for me. back to the studio to work on this intec release for mr. carl cox

  23. hehe. Now I'm blushing. Thanks. Hope to see you all out at Space this Friday, and Ongaku begins next week - Sept 6th! www.signalcommunications.net/ongaku.htm It's good to be playing @ home again For those looking for the album and can't find it (should be @ Spec's, Uncle Sams, etc...), you can buy it @ our online store... www.substancerecordings.com or at cdnow and amazon.com ok, that's enough self promo (i hate doing that stuff!) take care all, Stryke
