Hey, I am a DJ myself and I do 2 shows a week on my campus radio station here at Barry University. I play a mix of breaks, house, and trance. Anyways, I am trying to find anyone out there who would either like to give me their demo CD or do a promo for the station itself. I am the only one who pre-dominantly plays dance music and I'd like to really push it here and help it expand. For those of you that spin on home sets: Demo CDs would be great! You could also give me contact info in case someone calls and wants you to do a party For DJs/club owners/promoters The promo would be easy. I could just arrange to meet you somewhere and bring the station's digital voice recorder. Then I'd just need something simple like, "Hi, this is (name) and you are listening to WBRY" or we could get creative. I'm glad everyone that has responded has been supporting and positive. All I can speak of are my experiences so I am in no way taking detracting from other people or places. Hell, there could be 100's of other people like her out there (though I doubt it) who I just haven't met yet. All I am saying is from everyone I have met, she is in a class by herself. I really hope she reads this soon because often times, I imagine, her job requires her to make things happen without giving her props or recognition. I realize that the reward comes in the form of how well the finished product works, but who couldn't use an occasional pat on the back or "we love you"? So, Camila, if you are reading this... WE LOVE YOU!! :bounce:

I will have to meet this Carla soon. As I said before, I am a loyalist so Camila will always be #1 in my book, but it would further refreshen my soul to know others, like her, are out there caring about the actual majority of clubbers... people like me.

I swear, just as I am convinced she is the prettiest/charming/thoughtful/sweetest/warmest/caring/sexiest promoter I have ever met, she goes and surprises me even more!! That's right, I am referring to Camila from Oxygen Lounge and I'd like to take this time to write my ode of appreciation. First off, let me say I dont give a motherfuck if anyone else on this board has elite connections at places like Space or whatever so please don't get on here and try to upstage me, this isn't about that. Okay? So without further adeu: Last night I took a group of 8 girls with me to Oxygen Lounge. It was all fine, but I didn't call to get on the list earlier so we got rejected at the door (as far as comps). So I left a message for her to call me when she got in and 10 minutes later she was telling us to get our asses over there! That's the kind of person she is. I am not a big spender, nor have I ever been so all I have to offer is me... and that is ok. She is truly a breath of fresh air in this fickle industry. I mean, I love and will always love places like Space, but (on an individual level) I just feel like another number in their empire. Camila and the rest of O2 make me feel loved. It's like "Cheers" in a way. "You wanna go where everyone knows your name" Ha, seriously though, they are beginning to really take off. Last night was SLAMMED! Plus they have the best sushi in MIA to boot. Well, I just wanted to take time and truely say thank you to Camila and profess my appreciation to the world of her. She is truely an inspiration and will always have my full support and loyalty

I heard it @ Space and Ultra. I didn't think I would like it so much but it is pretty badass. Party 93.1 will overplay it and cheese it up a bit, which is a shame

whatever, sell-out. You said Tiesto sucked last time he was at Space because he played a different, more banging set. Now he's great and he played the same style as last time. Jeez, you say people suck because they always sound the same and then when they mix it up and try new stuff, they suck because they aren't playing what you expect. You know we are friends, but I swear if I had the same mindset when I went out, I would just go to the movie theatre every weekend... or better yet make it a Blockbuster night. Brother, broaden the horizen. Sometimes its melodic, sometimes its banging. If it were the same every time, the DJs would get blasted like Acosta gets blasted. I dont understand that either. People say he is always the same, but if you think about it, he is here so often that no one goes without him for extended periods of time. I personally dont like him cause he is snotty to me, but I realize that if I saw him alot than I would get tired of him too. It's common sense. The only person I could see all the time is Edgar because he is a friend as well. I LOVED PVD's Space/Ultra sets. His constant change is inspiring, hell, I don't think I'll ever get tired of him cause he tries different stuff all the time

The announce introduced him as the main event and he was nothing short of it! Paul Van Dyk RIPPED SOOOO FUCKING HARD!!! Banging track after banging track. I came damn near to tears when he played "Nothing But You" as the 2nd to last track. Underworld was awesome too. I loved "Born Slippy". Ultra was very condensed this year. Instead of the talent being spread out, it was all compressed into the last few hours. I hope next year they have Ultra as the opening party like they had the past 2 years because I like getting a sample of what to expect at the clubs. At any rate, WMC and Ultra blew me away and I cant wait til next year!

Its 7:28 and I will be leaving to go to the beach in 1/2 an hour to get my pre-party on. I'll be in the main room the whole time. Hope to see you all there
